《Speedrun》Prologue

A slender, squid like figure towered over a small 6 foot naked human “With all due respect, I would not allow the quote ‘Yeeting the AIs somewhere else.’ approach to our current problem. We signed numerous treaties on this, in doing so we not only show that...”
“Good to know.” The human dismissed the accusation with a light tone, checking the status of the spaceship they are in. Well, a spaceship would be a generous overstatement at this point, given the recent 'forced renovation' they wet through .What once contained billions of lives now all forced into digital copies of themselves to conserve food and space, empty hallways exposed to outer space and the flickering light in the room they are in tells the outcome of their past engagement.
There were once many more like them, living on planets, space stations, spaceships all across the galaxy, alliances were formed, treaties signed, and they stood at the peak of technological advancements.
Immortality for all, knowledge was shared and free, diseases were but a memory of the past, nature was almost fully understood, and the concept of conflict was only found in dictionaries.
“Last time I checked, we are the last one standing, our opponent didn’t even sign a treaty, and we are a few hours from being absolutely obliterated." He paused for a short while "That massive black hole beside us would be our grave if by some miracle any of our pieces remained. So please, tell me more about how we shouldn’t interact with lower tiers civilisation nor drag them into this conflict.” The man continued as he looked into the void, consantly flipping a metal coin.
His oldest ‘real’ memory was a few months ago where he was woken up from a slumbering sleep, given all the clearance, then pushed onto the seat of what they call ‘Emergency Leader’, data from all over the ship started streaming into his mind, millions of tasks screaming to be solved, along with the duty to interact with all that is on board to keep their mind sane.

Only a few days ago has he gotten a physical form, which quickly became his favorite place to be since it allows actual interaction with others, to feast, to drink, to feel, all of which wasn’t really present when he was still just another software. Though he knows that whatever he is doing is unsustainable, but what isn’t?
“Remember your place, we do not play god, their future is not yours to decide” The squid warned, different colors flashed through his body. Which roughly translates to either horny, anrgy, or afraid
“Look.” The man brought his hands up, below his nose, palm pressed against each other “If there is a god it’s either about a few hours behind us ready to blow us to pieces, or it’s… me. Either way, it’s about time that that changes.” The human said as he discharges some of the power, essentially shouting to the whole universe that someone is over at their location.
“Let’s get some music in here shall we? Sound the trumpets” With his command, dozens of vessels were ejected away from the black hole, soon, with a flash of blue light, they were gone one by one.
“Wait, how did it… What the hell did you do?”
“What you designed me to do, I won us the war.” He smugged as he saw a gigantic ship emerge out of thin air, weapons already pointed at them.
"There will be consequences you do not understand." The squid snarled, the voice echoed from deep within it's hollowed body
"Oh Like the one that tore us a new back side? Look, I'm not foolish enough to walk the same path as you did. And so, some changes" He said as he pulled the files onto the screen where both can see. "First being they are not alive, at all."
While the creature examined the documents he just opened up, he opened a comunication chanle to the other ship “Well hello there, my fellow consequences, been a while hasn't it?”

Mobius
Far in the future, humans have thoroughly colonized space through the use of floating colonies and artificially replicating the Earth whenever possible. Most of these endeavors have gone well, with humanity spreading across the universe like the seeds of plants floating in the wind. Yet still there lurks the great mistake, the endless station of Mobius, a megastructure which hasn't ceased its building in over a century. Dante, a man living in this megastructure, is tasked with the recording of stories told by criminals, particularly those who travel between strata. One day, a prisoner is captured claiming to be Captain Pluto, an infamous criminal thought to be fictitious by most scholars. Even more curious, he claims to hail all the way from Stratum 56, a location so far away from Dante's Stratum 999 that it would take lifetimes to traverse such a distance. Dante must discern whether or not the story is false or true, and the longer he lets Captain Pluto speak, the more difficult his task becomes. *****Average chapter length will be 10k words give or take. This isn't a very serious story for me. I'm writing this to blow off steam. Updates will happen infrequently because of this, and it will most likely be unpolished unless I begin to take it more seriously.
