《Metempsukhosis (En)》...but which night!

Georges has recovered the taste of life.
It’s been more than an hour that people stir around here.
The first buckets of tar arrived for quite some time, bronze pickaxes resonate at the back of the gallery, while small limestone golems that appear fight against slimes that are walking around.
What’s fun with those so weak creatures, but now many, it’s that they fight with all their heart against each other, while a spell or an attack is enough to KO them.
It’s what allows us to extract stone blocks without being disturbed by golems: useful!
Even more so that physical attacks of the majority of non mages people are a big loss of time in golem elimination.
Stones transport is very simple, as the Chapel is built just next to them.
Putting the stones at their place and next working in height is quite physical, but it’s so much more satisfactory to see them at the right place after.
Surprise, several villagers chose to give us a stone from their house, in exchange of a new stone later on.
A way for them to unite in the Chapel a little bit of the village.
Symbolically, it’s touching.
“Yes, this stone is the good size, take it and put it up there! Good, the tar is put? So place the stone where the tar is fresh… Yes… perfect! You are great, guys!”
“Good job, buddies!”
And the Chapel took shape.

Jules and Jean chose to begin with the quests of Komyshany city, before coming back to complete the quests of Zymivnyk, but the ones of Pruurg weaver, consisting in the transport of a few products to the weaver guild.
Because the city is quite advanced in everything related to activity, quests received were quite specific to our two friends jobs.
Preparing copper rings with black energy for one, infusing dark energy from the rings to the bronze pieces for the other.
A way to enrich the city easily.
Taming beasts in the surrounding area for one, estimating the monster potential and selecting the most interesting for the other.

A way to improve the defensive and offensive potential of the city.
Managing the training of militia troops of Komyshany, zombies for one, mages for the other.
A way to prepare battles that will take place this weekend!
And soon, it was the hour to come back to Zymivnyk, not without a detour through the mushroom fields to fight against a few raccoons, many slimes, and more than anything, lots of flying foxes.
Quest of the legendary meat bag (daily 2/3 finished): Devour 100 crystals of the same monster
State of quest: 100/100 flying foxes crystals eaten
Difficulty: G
Reward: You have absorbed enough flying foxes crystals to gain: flying fox killer, mammals eater, crystal box
Talent : Flying fox killer (+10% efficiency with flying foxes, HP+1)
Jelly eater (+10% efficiency with flying foxes, HP+5)
Capacity: Crystal box (HP+5, Black energy +1 if Undead race and unlocks quests to get the Psukhôphage class, else LUC+1)
Wow!
As useful as ever, this daily quest!

“Well, it’s time to take care of Zymivnyk village quests. It’s time to ask for help, because a Chapel, it’s not a piece of cake!”
“Yes, I propose that as soon as we find someone, we ask him for help!”
“Works. And if he refuses, we won’t have lost anything…”
“Okay… you begin?”
“Oh, okay…”
The environment in the village is not quite as usual.
It seems that there is noise from the gallery going to the Necros Altar.
Someone is waiting at the entrance.
“Hey, look, it’s the guy who spends his days next to the lake. We shall begin with him.”
“As you wish…”
“Hi! We are looking for some help for a quest. Would you mind helping us?”
Georges, because it was him, looked at us with a bright smile.
“What can I do for you?”
“Well, you see… we are not architects, but we would like to build a Chapel for the village. Would you, well, mind give us some help?”

“It would be a great pleasure to help you! I like this Chapel idea, it’s a beautiful building! Come with me, we are gonna talk about it where it will be built!”
Following Georges, noises increased.
Soon, limestone golems were walking everywhere, fighting against plenty of slimes and a few warriors.
“Okay, we will take care of the golems!”
“No, please come first with me to the end of the tunnel.”
“Well… okay…”
And there, around a bend, we saw the Chapel, which walls were already finished and which ceiling was nearly finished.
“Whaoh! That’s beautiful!”
***
We just unlocked the quest.
Next, everything was done without us.
But now that we are here, it’s going to go much faster!
To begin with, our slimes fight in an organized way: always three slimes against a golem, and as soon as he’s nearly overcome, one of the slime swallows the golem, paralyzing it and dissolving it’s core.
As slime get very tired at this moment, a mushroom, and after 5 minutes, here we go again!
With 3 slimes each, it’s every 5 minutes 6 golems knocked out, and a good growth for our little troop.
To this, we have to add Jean’s attacks who eliminates other golems attacking by surprise with a little spell.
Me, I alternate between the work with the pickaxe and the stone transport, to place them on the ceiling level at first, inside the Chapel so that they serve as seats.
A big zombie full of energy like me, it allows the work to be done quickly!
And soon…
Two windows appeared...
Title: Builder of the Necros Chapel (+5 affinity with idols, +5 affinity with Necros, +2 VIT, +2 STR, +2 HEA, +2 TEC, +2 DEF)
Zymivnyk quest: Becoming a town.
Zymivnyk was maybe a village yesterday, but with Mal Tharek as an altar builder, it became a town! The first step was to get a real chapel.
State of quest: Chapel 100/100 (Altar 10/10; Seats 40/40; Building 50/50)
Difficulty: F
Reward: +100XP
Incredible!
Taking part in a collective quest sure gives plenty of bonuses!
“Thanks a lot, Georges, you made a great work!”
“Yes, for sure, we would never have done it without you!”
“Well… thanks!”
***
“You were really fast to finish this collective quest! I’ll have to get to work, but it will be really, very hard…”
“Why?”
“Because I’ll have to invoke a Necros spirit. It’s not a piece of cake. You’ll have to go look for a monster core infused with monster souls. It’s a rare knowledge for a long time. You’ll have to go to the psûkhostasis shop, at Hola Prystan. It’s a long trip…”
“You mean, a crystal like this?”
Jean took a slime crystal, in which he put the best slimes souls he found, following his criteria: Health points, digesting speed, competence utilisation…
“Where did you find it? It’s the lowest level of monster core, but it’s perfect for what we are going to do!”
“Take it, we don’t need it. We don’t know what to do with it, anyway…”
It’s half true.
Gandock and Emile told us it would be useful for the altars, to get spirit guardians in each village.
At our great surprise, it’s a slime crystal they told us to vie to Mal Tharek…
“Wait a second, I set to work.”
Pulling out a small hammer and a burin, Mal Tharek sculpted a skull in a rock, in which he inserted from below the slime crystal, and after this, with a very fine chisel, he wrote his name and the name of the idol: Necros.
“Give me some slime energy.”
I take one of my slimes, extract the little black bubble next to its core.
When Mal Tharek put it on the skull, a black light dazzles us...

The story follows as the boy encounters many different things along his growth and embarks on a journey to uncover the mysteries of his past and discover his destiny. Note from Author Hello, readers. This is a rewrite of the original Phoenix Rising that I had started way back in 2014 and am still going with over 500 chapters. I am rewriting from scratch on this one because, when I looked back at the earlier chapters, I found out that I had made a lot of mistakes, plot holes that went unexplained, and links missing between events. That's why, I've decided to write from the beginning with a new vision of improving the story, bridging the missing links, and change our certain events happened to make a much better story than the original. So, I thank each and every one of you for giving this story a chance, and I hope that you will come to like it. Please do leave comments down in each chapter to give me possible feedback or any suggestions for me to improve my story on. I gladly accept all advices from my readers and promise I will adapt to the best I possible could with the vision I have for this story. Phoenix Rising: Wikia

Way of the World
In a world of martial arts and magic, where the strong do as they please, a young swordsman seeks revenge for his school's destruction and mentor's death, while trying to stay true to his own values. Arround him, the era shifts as immense powers struggle and scheme for the world's future. Join our protagonist as he travels through exotic lands, meets strange and funny creatures and learns to remain human amongst the carnage. Author's note: This is the first story I'm writting in a coherent manner (I have written a lot of DnD background stories in the past), so bear with me if I make boring or overdescriptive bits: I'll regularly come back to rewrite whichever parts feel unpolished, especially grammatical errors. I would also appreciate any corrections or suggestions.
