Chapter 8: No Hard Feelings
Jerry was put into a cell in the Arena. After he was put into his cell, he sat down next to the wall and kicked his legs out. Not every day you get thrown into a cell for winning a bias and rigged matched.
They detained Jerry by inflicting magical attacks on him. He was quickly knocked out before he could do anything.
‘This is stupid’ Jerry thought to himself.
Just then, he heard a familiar voice.
“What were you thinking!”
Jerry looked up to find Emile standing there.
“Fighting” Jerry said as he looked back down
“No, you struck him in the head! That’s not fighting, you almost killed him!” Emile exclaimed.
“What about the times he tried to kill me? That didn’t get called out. None of the armor or weapons I was provided were gonna get through his armor. So, I struck his head with the pommel of the sword. The most non-lethal area of the sword” Jerry said.
Emile stood there for a little bit, thinking about what he had said.
“That doesn't matter. You still struck him in the head, almost killing him.” Emile said.
“Are you sure? Because if he dies from that, he is a weak human.” Jerry said.
“Strikes to the head can still be lethal! No matter how weak it is!” Emile said.
“True. But that was the only way to win. If I half-sworded it, I might’ve actually killed him.” Jerry said.
“Half-Swording?” Emile asked.
Jerry sighed. “Never mind. Paint me as the villain if you want. I’m tired. I’m going to sleep.”
“H-hey! Don’t you dare sleep! I’ll have you know, I’m Emile Kerrington the Fourth! Next in line to inherit the Empire!” Emile exclaimed.
“And?” Jerry asked as he closed his eyes to sleep

“A-And I will be the one that watches over your work when I take over!”
Jerry sighed. “Kid, how old are you?”
“How rude! You must address me as ‘Your Highness’! And for your information, I’m 18!”
“And how old is your dad?”
“He’s 40. Why?”
“Have any older siblings?”
“No, just me.”
“Sad. You’ll be watching over me in about… 30 more years if he dies of old age. Maybe even less if he’s assassinated. And that’s if you don’t get married off, has a son or I die before then.”
“Don’t you dare speak of him like that!”
“Yea? Then prove me wrong.”
Emile seemed to be on the verge of tears at this point. After hearing what Jerry had said.
Jerry never really intended for this. He just wanted to sleep in peace. A crying child is an exact opposite of what he wants right now.
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding. He’ll hand it down like all the other kings when they retire.”
“Really?” Emile said, sniffing as she tries to hold her tears back.
“Yes, really.” Jerry was lying. He truly believed in what he said the first time.
Emile seemed to calm down after that.
’16 and acting 10’ Jerry thought.
Just then, Larmen came into the room
“Hahaha, magnificent fight! Truly a magnificent fight! As I thought, it truly was a fair fight!” Larmen laughed.
‘Really? Are you sure about that?’
“Come now, we must go to the Royal Palace. A feast awaits us in my honor of winning!”
“What about your injuries?”
“No matter! There was a concussion! There was someone that was embarrassed when she was told that it was just a concussion. She brought in expensive medical items! I believe her name was Jenny?”

Jerry sighed
“Whatever. Just get me out of this cell and somewhere to sleep.”
“Sleep? We must have an award ceremony!”
Larmen then inserted the key into the keyhole and opened the cell door.
“Whatever” Jerry said.
“That’s the spirit!” Larmen exclaimed
Jerry got up from his legs. His eyes felt like it was about to shut at any time. His legs felt like support beams with too much to support. Larmen escorted both Emile and Jerry down the hall, towards the carriage that will take them to the Royal Palace.
“Well then, Your Highness, I dedicate this win to you! All the injuries I’ve endured were all for you!” Larmen said.
“Really? Why, thank you, Larmen. I will pay you back one day” Emile said. She almost looked like she was blushing.
‘Really? I kicked his ass. He dedicates it to you. And you’re blushing to that? That’s really fucking dumb.’ Jerry thought.
“Do not worry Your Highness. Seeing your smile is enough as a repayment!” Larmen said.
“Oh, stop it you.”
Jerry had already had enough today. He wanted to get the feast done, and so he could sleep.
“Hey, you two. Cut it.”
“Huh? How dare you be rude to me. If you don’t like it, just plug your ears.” Emile said.
“Will do”
As Jerry shoves his hands into his right pocket, he breaks into a cold sweat.
‘Where is it.’
“Hey, Emile. Can you bring me back to the Blue Room, thing? I forgot something there.”
“What? This?” Emile then brought Jerry’s phone out of her pockets.
“Yes, that. Hand it over.”
“Why? You treat me with no respect. You’re a cheater and a coward. Why would I hand it to you?”
“Emile, I’m not in the mood for your games. Hand it over.”
“No. Beg for it”
Jerry sighed. He was not in the mood for it today.
“Your Highness, can I please receive that item in your hand back.”
“Of course you can, Jerry.”
Emile handed Jerry his phone back with a playful smile.
All three of them were nearing the carriage now. As they mounted the carriage, they were quickly off on their way. At the same time, Jerry quickly fell asleep, exhausted from the magic inflicted on him.

The Heroic Tales of Silas Horne
In the year 1858, the system came to the world. It brought with it beings from fantasy and mythology the likes of which the world had never seen before. In the American frontier, a place already known for being a dog eat dog world the system gave bandits the capacity for untold violence, not to mention monsters and system loving fanatics hell-bent on the murder of the innocent. But are they truly so innocent? No one knows what the system is or why it came, they do know one thing though. That the world post system isn't a place for a hero. Luckily for the world, U.S Marshall Silas Horne is no such man. ----- AN: This story is a litRPG inspired by "Randidly Ghosthound" and "The New World" but after reading many such stories and finding them to be a tad samey I decided to write this in a new setting, the Wild West. Also, my release schedule is chaotic, expect at least one 1000 word chapter each day but probably like two more will also be released.

The immortal snail problem
“You get 10 million coins, but a magic immortal snail will spawn within 10 kilometers of you. It is as fast as a regular snail, but it will always be chasing you. If it touches you - you die. Do you take the deal?” This obscure message is the first thing you see along with a gun near your head. What will you do if you don't even know where or who you are? Problem...Yeah... I would even call it 'The immortal snail problem'. Improvisational writing. I will try to make small irregular updates. There may be polls. Enjoy.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
