《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 47. Project.

"Just a few days after usurping the throne and being crowned and I already have to deal with massive amounts of internal conflict." I say under my breath as I leave a meeting room filled with all sorts of nobles.
(One of them wants to de-throne me, the other wants to kill the one who wants to de-throne me and the third wants to just leave the Empire entirely. And lets just not get into how many other small conflicts, like who is going to marry who, are going on... I'm thinking of just turning this monarchy into a dictatorship, get rid of these 'nobles' all together.
They don't serve a major purpose in my plans so they are just annoyances at this point.)
As I ponder what to do with the nobles, I manage to bump into Viv and Lily since I didn't notice who was around the corner.
"Ah, sorry Viv, Lily. I didn't notice you there." I say as I help both of them up since they fell down from me suddenly coming around the corner.
"You seem kind of out of it, Colin. Has something happened?" Lily asks me once she gets up and straightens her clothes.
I look up to the ceiling and with a big sigh look down to the ground.
"Nobles. Them and their endless bickering might just end me before anything else can even try. Some aim their ambitions too high, some just want to see another family burn." I say in a slightly angry tone.
"Well, you just need to teach them their place right? It seems they don't really accept you as the emperor just yet. I mean, we did come out of nowhere and take over the castle and technically did crown you Emperor without any sort of religious head here." Lily says while Viv keeps quiet.

I pat both of them on the head after Lily's little pep talk.
"Well, I'll see what I can do. You guys just enjoy living in the castle until the Project starts." I wave them goodbye and enter the room with the nobility.
The first thing I do is sit down on my throne and look at each of them in the eye.
"I've had enough of hearing reports about you guys. Every damn day I get another report about one of you almost raising the flag or rebellion. I'm done with it.
So here are two options. You follow me, or you follow the Old Emperor. Sadly, if you follow the Old Emperor, I will have to take all your possessions. And don't even try to raise that flag of rebellion. I will kill you and your damn family.
Does everybody here understand that? I didn't gain this crown for no reason. I took it since I needed to. And seeing as the most powerful knights couldn't stop me, what can your armies do? Nothing. So for the last time, don't try anything." I give them two options just to make this simpler and many of them seemingly ignore me.
"Also, for those who ignore me..." I find the strongest looking of the bunch who ignored me and walk behind him.
I grab his shoulders and crush them with my bare hands and then I mercifully kill him by using some lightning magic and frying his brain.
I sit back on my throne and it seems all of them have properly started thinking about their positions now.
"So, I want your answers before you leave this room." I say as I slowly tap my finger on the table.
An hour passes and finally one of them says something.

"I will follow you, My Majesty." A baron says and soon after, all of them follow.
"Good. Took you all long enough. Now, I assume most of you know of the Kingdom that the Alliance of Kings is fighting.
All nobles on the side of the Empire near that Kingdom. I want you to build a wall near our border with all of the kingdoms. Based on my recent reports, the Alliance of Kings is losing their ground at a decent speed. Once they fall, they'll be knocking on our doorstep soon enough.
All the nobles on the other side of the Empire, try to reinforce them as much as you can and help build the wall.
Also, try to make contact with any kingdom that touches our borders and isn't between us and the Kingdom. For the sake of simplicity, we'll call it the Rogue Nation from now on.
Try to make contact with all the kingdoms near us so we can have their support once the Rogue Nation reaches here, which it will.
Also, if anybody is good as managing spies and things like that, try to send some near the front lines of the Rogue Nation.
I want to know everything about it." I immediatly lay out my plans for the Project which they don't know about.
After they consider my plans, one of them speaks up.
"But what if somebody attacks from behind?" A Viscount asks.
"I'll deal with it, personally." I say full of confidence.
The nobles then agree to my plan either wholeheartedly or with some reluctance.
I then nod and let them go back to their fiefs.
Of course, I keep a few spies on them at all times as well.
(Can't have one of them turning bad inside the walls of my little Project now can I?)
