《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 39. Finishing the HQ.

--- About a week and a half since the second floor was finished ---
"Come on! It's the final push! The roof!" Bunvers shouts out while carrying materials up to the final roof with a train of people following him.
(My HQ has 12 floors while every other building anywhere close to us has a maximum of 3. It stands out and that is good.)
I think to myself while standing infront of the doors to the first floor.
"Amazing, isn't it? The first step to your plan." Dominic pops out of nowhere again.
I just nod as an answer while I look at the roof being slowly constructed.
"After this, we need to immediatly start expanding your companies influence over the surrounding lands, don't we?" Dominic continues the conversation.
"Indeed. We need the defensive line. So far, there haven't been any reports about any suspicious activity luckily.
Also, I need you to send a message. To a village leader in a forest. Her exact location is... Here. You just need to know she's part of the little 'Defensive Line Project' we have going. Her name is Nephenee Ularona.
Just tell her to come to this city as promised." I show Dominic where Nephy is located and he immediatly starts heading off to write the message.
I keep watch over the construction of the roof for half an hour before it is finished.
"The HQ is finished, Headmaster. What do we do now?" Bunvers politely asks me.
"Nothing. You are free for now. I'll tell you the name of my company tomorrow,, when we properly start business." I answer Bunvers and he lets all the workers go home.
I go to the mansion with the others where Dominic is already waiting for us.
"I sent the message to Nephenee. She should get it in four or so days. It'll take her some time to get here as well. Also, as the Headquarters is finished... Let's have a celebration! I've already prepeared it." Dominic gives me some information before opening the doors to the feast.

The entire table is filled with food and drinks.
"This time, everybody is properly invited and here! Even the maids and butlers will be eating with us today. Everybody, sit down where you want and immediatly start eating. We've got food to spare." Dominic sits down on one end of the table and I sit close to him.
Scarlett immediatly sits next to me like she was waiting for this moment and everybody else finds their spots as well.
I start slowly eating their food in an orderly manner instead of fighting over who will get the last piece of something.
"So, have you decided on the name of the company yet, Colin?" Dominic asks me and it drags the attention of everybody to our conversation.
"I've got a few ideas but I need a name with a meaning. I want people to know what this Company will actually be doing if they decide to read the name and think about it a tad." I answer Dominics question.
"Good. The HQ is finished but a company also needs a name, otherwise it will stay unknown. Also, I know this will ruin your mood a little bit but... Just before you came I got some information.
A certain kingdom, peaceful might I add, has suddenly started attacking surrounding nations which were not ready for their invasion. Luckily, said kingdom is nowhere close to us but I'll keep track of it." Dominic continues the conversation but nobody answers him after it and quietly eats.
(Valuable, but also startling. I wasn't expecting them to get another kingdom this fast. I really cannot afford to waste a lot of time, can I?)

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
