《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 38. HQ Building.

As I get up from my bed and head towards the construction site, I notice something.
(A mass of people infront of my HQ?)
I walk towards the mass of people and I see that there are already construction workers building the second floor.
As I push myself through the mass of people, I see that the five Guild Masters are explaining to the people what is going on and when Bunvers notices me, he immediatly bows and the others follow suit.
"Open the path for the Headmaster, citizens!" Bunvers immediatly shouts while bowing.
The crowd all walk away from me whilst I stay in place as I knew I was the Headmaster.
I walk towards Bunvers and the rest and I notice my companions coming towards me from the direction of the mansion.
"You can stop bowing now. Can somebody explain the situation to me quickly?" I ask them and they all lift their heads.
Bunvers looks to his left and right and finally starts explaining.
"The people noticed that yesterday something was going on here but they didn't want to come close as they thought it was just another expansion but today, a man came and asked what was going on. I told him that we were building a HQ for the Headmaster of our Union and he immediatly rushed somewhere and after a while, a crowd of people appeared demanding explanations to who is this new Headmaster and why we are all suddenly working together 100%.
That is all that happened, Headmaster. I've also taken the liberty to start construction before you got here as to speed up the construction." Bunvers gives me the explanation and also explains why the workers are here so early.
I think for a bit and my companions finally reach my location.

"You all handled the situation well and Bunvers, your decision to start work early is good. I won't punish you or anything." I tell Bunvers as I can see that he is worried.
They all bow again and immediatly continue building the HQ as the crowd slowly becomes bigger but doesn't come close enough to hinder the construction.
I also help the workers and so do my Guild Members to hasten up the construction since time is of the essence.
After we work for 2 or so hours, some civilians dissapear and quickly reappear in working clothes and join our construction workers after getting some hints from them on how to build the HQ properly.
(Seems like they might want to get some favors before my HQ is built and my business is up. I might actually give away some money as a 'Thank You' for them so we build it quicker... Yeah, I'll do that at the end of the day.)
Due to the sudden influx of new workers, the speed of the construction is, at first, slower but after a while they get used to building such a HQ and our speed hastenes.
After a day of building, the sun starts setting.
"All right! Today's work is over! Get back home to your families! Today there were no injuries, not even minor ones!" Bunvers shouts out orders and news fast and all the workers started slowly leaving.
I am standing near the only exit and give all the Civilian Workers, who did it for free and aren't being payed, some money which was around 80% of what the actual workers get.
The instant I give them the money, their eyes are filled with happiness and they bow infront of me before running off.
After half an hour of giving out money, I look at how much work we've done.

"Around 25% done. If we have more workers tomorrow... Our speed should increase and we will be able to finish the third floor and maybe even make it to the sixth. If we do make it to the sixth floor... Then we only need to make four more and that'd be the end of the HQ building for now." I think out loud to myself and Dominic comes out from nowhere again.
He looks at the building.
"That's quite a bit of work done in one day. I guess they really are putting their all in it." Dominic says and then laughs.
"Though the second floor is nothing impressive to look at compared to the first. It is just a storage area so far anyways." I say whilst smiling as I am also gladdened by the speed of the construction.
I look around and see nobody else except me and Dominic.
"I'm going to guess that the others returned to the mansion and you didn't see me so you came to see what I was doing, am I right?" I ask Dominic and he just nods.
"Scarlett's been waiting for you. Every time I asked what she was doing, peeking at the front door, she ran away from me whilst blushing. It's quite cute. I think you've got my daughter completely under your charms, Colin. Emmaline also won't say what Scarlett's doing and Zach's been saying that it's none of the men's business and we should stay out of it.
And Zach always puts his nose into stuff he shouldn't so I'm quite surprised at how much you've changed my family with the limited amount of interaction you've had with them. It's changing my entire family for the better." Dominic tells me what's been going on whilst I've been building my HQ.
I laugh for a bit before I answer Dominic
"I guess I might be." Dominic and I laugh again before I continue "I'm quite tired so what do you think about going back to the mansion?"
"Sounds like a good idea. I think Scarlett's asleep right now though. Emmaline was asking her to take a rest and so far, I've not seen Scarlett ignore a single thing Emmaline asks of her." Dominic tells me a little bit more while we walk to the mansion.
When we get to the Mansion, I say goodbye to Dominic and immediatly head to sleep.

Also available on Audible! After centuries of endless wars, the three greatest nations of the continent have come together in peace. As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
