《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 36. Connections.

After our little feast, me and Dominic go to a seperate room to talk about my plans in this city.
I sit opposite of Dominic and a maid serves the both of us some tea.
"Maids, butlers, me and Colin are going to talk privately so..." Dominic asks the servants to leave.
Once everybody except the two of us have left the room, Dominic looks at me.
"So... Your plans..." Dominic starts the talks.
"I wish to begin my Trade Empire here, funds are no problem as I have that under my own control but... Starting the Trade Empire's a tad... Difficult... I need somebody to 'encourage' people to come over to my shops. I might as well state the other part of my plans as well. I don't see any reason to hide my true intentions from you.
I wish to create a defensive line against an enemy that has yet to properly show itself to the world. Without this defensive line, you and everybody in this world will die. That, I can guarantee." I look Dominic straight in the eye as I say that and he gets slightly scared.
"An enemy that hasn't shown itself?" Dominic asks me the question I wanted him to ask.
I laugh as I drink the tea a little bit.
"Yes. I don't know how it's said around here but where I've been... It's called The Ritual. You know, the thing that makes people go insane?
It's starting to act up a little... Creating multi-raced kingdoms which destroy other kingdoms and slaughter people for their own enjoyement...
I think you've heard of it? It'd be weird if you didn't." I put the cup of tea on the plate and stand up and go to the window.
Dominic thinks about a few things before asking me another question.
"How will this defensive line work?" He asks the perfect question again.
"Simply. The Ritual itself cannot do much but it can affect others. We just need to make sure it doesn't affect the people on our side of the line and keep the affected people out. If, by chance, there is a powerful person that has been affected. I'll try to handle that.
But this defensive line needs to be started fast. The clock is ticking closer to the time that the Ritual will decide to start it's little 'game'." I come away from the window and sit back on my spot.
Dominic thinks for a bit and then looks at some documents he has gathered in the time I was near the window.

"So basically... This Trade Empire will be a sort of Headquarters for a Military to stand against an enemy whose strength we cannot match in the usual means?
And this Trade Empire can easily transport men and weapons secretly under the guise of slaves and weapons for knights?
That is a good plan... I'll see if I can find you a perfect spot for your Headquarters here. If you say that funds are no problem to you, it shouldn't be hard to find and build your Headquarters." Dominic finally gets to the point and immediatly starts working with me.
I laugh a bit and drink all the tea.
"You sure you can trust me? I mean, I could actually be under the Ritual's control and I could be a saboteur." I smile as I say that to Dominic.
"If that was so, you would've already had my head seperated from my body and the rest of my family executed as well. And whenever you talk about that enemy, the Ritual, your eyes have are slightly filled with hatred." Dominic answers me in a calm tone and laughs a little at the end.
After a little bit of talking about a few things and Dominic sending out messages to several people, a butler walks in.
"Sir, they've gathered. They are all waiting for you in the Main Hall." The Butler finishes his sentence and immediatly leaves.
Dominic gets up and smiles.
"It's time for you to get some connections with the other trading guilds around. It should help you set up your HQ and once you get big enough, with my help of course, I doubt they'll resist if you want to absorb them into your company.
Well, let's get going. As you said, The clock's ticking." Dominic goes to the Main Hall and I follow him.
Once we get there, five people and a few guards are standing.
Four of the Five bow the moment Dominic enters but the middle one doesn't.
"Dominic, what's the meaning of this? I thought you said you'd never bother me again." The rude man who is standing up says and then sees me.
"Is it because of that kid over there? I can beat him up and leave right?" He once more says.
I look toward Dominic and he nods.
(Ah... One idiot down.)
I suddenly appear infront of him, scaring him until he falls down on his back.
"Beat me up? I'm afraid that even if you were gifted powers from a god you couldn't touch me. Hey, Dominic. It's alright if I just end him here and take over his Company, right?" I look toward Dominic.

"Of course! I mean, he didn't bow infront of me and even acted rude to me. Why shouldn't you take over his company after ending him?" Dominic smiles with a grin that might've seemed like the Devil to this person.
I turn my head toward him and pick him up.
"So... Will you bow or will you die?" I ask him nicely and put him down.
He immediatly bows infront of Dominic and I appear next to Dominic.
"Nice play, I wasn't expecting that but I'm impressed. He didn't want to bow to me no matter what. Now I might have all five of them under my control now." Dominic whispers to me.
(The other four, who immediatly bowed, are basically just loyal pigs to Dominic from the first sight.
The man who didn't bow was actually like a veteran mercenary by the looks of things.
Though... He has never faced against powerful enemies in his life since he was surprised by me.)
"I have gathered the five of you here to talk about a few things. First... I want to introduce Colin Tyccus. He'll be joining your little round table of the Five Top Trading Guilds so get used to seeing him.
He will also set up his company here so be careful not to hinder him too much since I'm supporting him fully and I'll see to it that you'll be... Removed... If you hinder his company.
Second, I wish to talk about a sort of... Problem we are going to face...
One of you will need to give up some land for Colin's company. Don't worry, we'll pay for it and won't force you but one of you MUST give some land. I think you all know why by now.
Third and the last thing.
Colin is going to be leading the Top Six Guilds now as a sort of Union Headmaster. Listen to him very carefully since he knows something you all don't and he is the only one who can prepeare our little world for it. Got it?
Also, I know at least half of you are trying to get my daughter as your son's wife but that won't work. Little Colin here healed her whilst none of you couldn't so if he wants, I doubt anybody can resist his will.
I mean... He's strong enough to escort me from L'Aminne to here even though there were more herd's than usual.
We didn't have a single injury during that entire trip except some of our troops tripping over the bodies of the smaller herd members!
So... Truly, be careful and listen to me and Colin to the fullest since I trust Colin with everything I own even though I haven't even known him even 1% as long as I've known any of you.
Got it?" Dominic finishes his little speech and they all bow to me and act like I'm some sort of new god.
Dominic might've exaggerated a few parts but that's for the best probably.
I walk up to the Five.
"I think Dominic covered all the Important parts so... I don't really know what to say. Oh, now I know. You don't need to worry about me absorbing your guilds yet. It might be in the near future but not yet. Also, this little Union Dominc's having us create...
I'm going to force it to expand and fast. I'll cover the funds but we need to expand as far as possible as quickly as possible but safely.
We need people to trust our Union and willingly co-operate with us if something happens.
I won't tolerate if some of you abuse the money I'm going to give you for your own gains. Only for the Union's gains. Got it?
Once I get my Headquarters kind of set up, I'll call for a meeting and I'll help you all fix your tiny problems which you'll probably have.
In that meeting we'll also discuss the base of the Union and what our true expansion plans will be.
Until then, continue on as usual but don't forget, I need to know where I can start building my HQ by tomorrow morning, so... Decide fast." I smile at them after finishing my own small speech and then I walk back to Dominic's side.
They all leave shortly after.
"They'll probably send assassin's after us. One of them will." I say to Dominic and he just nods.
Dominic turns to me with a grin on his face.
"Too bad... All the Assassin's that work for them, listen to me first. That's why all the attacks on me fail. Well, they don't know that and they don't need to.
Let's see how they'll act..." Dominic walks away and so do I.
(I need to prepeare my little Guild for Tomorrow's fast HQ building.)

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.
