《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 28. Starting the trip.

A few hours later we leave with one carriage packed full of people.
Honestly it's amazing we could fit them all into it..
I'm at the front driving the carriage with Viv sitting next to me and Memui constantly asking questions about me from behind.
Yes, I know I dissapeared for a while and everybody thought I was dead but...
She's starting to repeat the same questions.
And that is how our true adventure begun.
A carriage packed full of people, possibly two or three of the strongest in the world in the carriage.
We moved forward for hours before we actually saw a village where we could rest for the night.
"Hey, we've found a village!" (Viv)
I hear people waking up immediatly.
"An actual shelter?" (James)
We ride through the village gate only to be met with a few guards and possibly the village elder.
"Who are you and what do you want?" (Elder)
"We're traders.... Without goods. We're heading towards L'Aminne and thought we could stay here for a night." (Colin)
The village elder thinks for a bit.
"Fine. We'll let you in for the night. But your guards need to help guard the walls tonight. That is the one condition." (Elder)
I jump off the carriage and Silan jumps off as well with Memui.
"I guess it's us three then?" (Colin)
"I guess so." (Memui)
The elder looks at me for a bit and then looks towards the carriage again.
"Where should we put the carriage and where can we sleep?" (Colin)
"The carriage can stay here and the inn is over there. Can't miss it.. It has the loud shouts coming out of it." (Elder)
I think for a bit. Loud shouts, over half of our group is female and the other half don't seem to have combat experience, ALL of our guards on the wall... Yeah nothing good can come out of that...

I walk towards Silan.
"Silan, you are the most injured out of us so you stay and guard the other members. I'm sure Memui and I can handle what will be coming but the others probably can't." (Colin)
Silan just nods and heads back to the carriage to tell the others where to go and Viv jumps off as well.
I look around at the guards on the wall and around the village.
It doesn't seem like they are guards.. More like bandits wearing armor which the guards used to wear.
I look towards the Elder and when our group left towards the inn I thought I saw the Elder lick his lips and have a bit of a perverted look.
"Memui." (Colin)
"I've noticed it. If they try anything funny can I chop off their heads?" (Memui)
Ok maybe she isn't as sane as I thought... Well at least the anger is directed at the enemy.
We walk towards the wall and go towards the part closest to the Inn where everybody went.
We most likely won't get any sleep tonight but we can't just pack up and leave so suddenly either.
This village should've been recently taken over since it is marked on the map.
Bandit villages aren't marked except if they are on the paths which traders and other people take and they are marked differently.
We guard the wall for an hour or two before shady movements begin.
A lot of guards surround the inn and there are a lot near us as well.
The elder suddenly emerges from out of nowhere.
"DO IT!" (Elder)
The guards run into the inn and the others near us start attacking us.
Foolish...
"Bye bye children... [Air Magic: Tornado]." (Memui)
"[Water-Earth Magic: Ice Field]" (Colin)

The guards near Memui are torn up by fierce tornadoes whilst the guards near me are just frozen to ice sculptures.
In an instant about thirty guards are killed.
Memui and I instantly fly towards the inn and when we entered Silan had handled all of them.
"These guys are weak!" (Silan)
We quickly surround the elder outside who is at a loss of words.
"How should we handle this guy? Freeze him? Burn him? Tear him up to shreds? Make a coffin underground? Have the light or darkness consume him?" (Memui)
"Better yet... [Earth-Fire Magic: Magma Coffin]" (Colin)
The ground underneath him turns into magma in a perfect coffin shape as he is consumed by it fully.
"[Water-Earth Magic: Ice]" (Colin)
I freeze the top of the magma coffin shut.
And that's done with.
After we killed the Elder the villagers started showing up and bowing to us like we were their eternal heroes.
We only killed a few low-leveled bandits...
Oh wait... Isn't this on the path on becoming a hero?
Save a village from an evil fiend?
Well, I won't complain but we're just merchants. Merchants who will eventually be an Empire.
But that's just a small detail...
After all the villagers shook my hand we could finally rest in the Inn even though there were no guards on the walls.
Apparently the guards were locked up in the guard tower and were severly malnourished and some even wounded badly.
Our, or well my, group finally went to sleep after liberating a village in nearly an instant.
That was just the first part of our adventure. The fun part is still to come... I hope.

All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
