Chapter 38: Revenge
Maou's PoV (3rd):
Demon Lord Maou had been sleeping very uneasy the past couple of days. It was like a bad premonition was hanging above his head. He would wake often drenched in sweat. When he once again woke up instead of the usual disturbed expression he now showed determination. His family always had the ability to feel it when something was about to happened that threatened their lives and now he was certain that this was the case.
Until now he had thought there was nothing in this world that could threaten his life. He thought himself the most powerful existence within Vamon at the moment but what he had seen while asleep shocked him greatly. Something was coming for him he was absolutely sure of it.
He immediately sent for his generals to assemble. Within the hour everyone had gathered in the great demon hall, his seat of power. Within these halls in his mind nothing could possibly threaten him. His generals were already assembled when he entered walking towards his throne with large steps.
His dark hair that had almost the color of dried blood was flying behind him and his pale face showed the typical features of the Ashura demon tribe. Black shiny skin, two horns stretching behind his ears and features that could only be described as cruel. Two bulges instead of eye brows gave him the look that haunted every humans nightmare that had the bad luck to have seen him. Six bone like limps that looked a bit like spider's legs were folded on his back, harder than steel and able to unleash frightening lightning magic.
The demon lord truly looked like a demon lord and only his strength was even more demon like than his appearance. One has to know that cultivation is not everything when it comes to strength. For example the shadow beasts that lived in the dark forest in the center of Vamon had no magic but there was hardly anyone that could compete with these beasts because they had high magic resistance and tremendous physical strength.
Not even the demon lord or Argus von Hohenstein would dare to enter the Dark Forest. They might be able to deal with one of those powerful beasts but not with several and the Forest was filled with these kind of beasts. Legends say that deep within there are even some beasts that have developed intelligence comparable to humans. It surely was the most ferocious place within the entire continent.

As Maou sat down on his throne his five generals fell to their knees shouting:
„Long live the Lord.“
With a hand gesture he signaled them to get up. Lining up in front of him he looked at them one after the other.
Rorix with his dark red three meter tall human like body. His head though showed clear reptile features giving him the impression of a huge snake with a lot of muscles. Two wings were folded on his back.
Ruria that could seduce any human just by looking at them. Two horns on her forehead, pale almost white skin paired with a seducing face. Red full lips slightly angled eyes and a small nose that completed a slight Asian look that could drive any man crazy.
Nox who was nothing but a black shadow that took a human shape for convenience.
Kyte the small black imp from the black imp clan who had a single horn on his forehead. He seemed to have a permanent mischievous look on his face that looked surprisingly human. If imps weren't smaller than humans and hadn't horns and another skin color one could think they were human.
And finally Nina. The former noble woman had blond hair and pale skin. With the glossy hair, the thin eyebrows, her big eyes and small mouth she would be quiet the beauty if she hadn't a permanent look of dissatisfaction on her face.
Satisfied that they all gave him their utmost attention he was about to speak when suddenly screaming could be heard from outside. Confused everyone looked towards the huge gates of the great demon hall. Before anyone could react suddenly white frost started to creep up those gates. Faster and faster in enveloped the almost ten meter high entrance to the hall.
Before they could even react suddenly with a loud shattering noise the great gates that had even survived the great war fell apart. At first Maou and his generals could not see through the icy mist what was beyond the entrance but everyone was already prepared for battle but never would they have expected what actually came into the great demon hall.
„Hello Dad!“
Stupefied Maoh looked at the little girl that leisurely walked into the room. An ice cold aura filled with killing intent enveloped him and his generals and cold sweat started to appear on his neck. Was he afraid? Never! He was the demon lord there was nothing he had to be afraid of.

„Who are you?“
The girl with the crimson hair put on a pouty face:
„Can't you even remember the face of your lovely daughter? Oh right I forgot you left me to rot with some imps when I was born.“
His generals were all ready to attack but he signaled them to wait.
„What do you want?“
Suddenly the temperature dropped even further.
„Your head.“
Before anyone could even react his five generals had already turned into icy sculptures.
„You five stay where you are this is family business.“
the girl said as she vanished into an icy mist. The demon lord was now very calm. He hasn't lived through countless battles for nothing.
His Ashura legs started releasing lightning that coiled around him in order to protect his body. Suddenly an ice spike shot out of the icy mist to his left. He jumped backwards and immediately shot a dark sphere into the direction.
But to his shock the dark sphere started to freeze as soon as it entered the mist that blew in a constant rotation around him. He could only see a few meters forward and suddenly a constant barrage of ice spikes started to be shot from all directions. Increasing his physical reaction and speed by inducing himself with lightning he started to dodge.
Left, right, front, right he jumped whenever he felt danger from a certain direction. Lucky for him every attack contained real killing intent so he could detect them somehow. For every spike he couldn't dodge he would shoot lightning to deflect them but he couldn't destroy them.
Suddenly a piercing pain came from his right leg and he stumbled. What happened? He didn't feel anything beforehand. But immediately he had to start dodging again but now he had to deflect more spikes than before. He was slower now.
He still couldn't understand what happened until suddenly his right arm got hit. His blood splashed and again he lost his balance and another spike grazed his side before he found his rhythm again. It seems the girl was attacking sometimes without killing intent. Of course an attack without killing intent was never aimed at a vital spot but by restricting his movement she could witter him down bit by bit.
The thought made him angry. The demon king outsmarted by a little girl? Never! As his rage built up so did his magic power and charging his Ashura legs more and more he suddenly shouted:
„DEMON LORDS WRATH!“
A terrifying discharge of electric energy exploded outward dispersing the icy mist. When the vision cleared the blood drained from his face.
The girl stood in front of his generals as if nothing happened. His strongest attack and not even her clothes showed any sings of damage. Then she said again with a pouty face:
„Hmpf I wanted to have some more fun with you but you just had to go and spoil it. Oh well shall I take what I came for now?“
The last bit she said with a sweet smile. The demon lord gathered darkness in his hands and jumped towards her:
„NEVER!“
Suddenly a scythe made of ice appeared in her hands and just as Maou arrived before her she vanished.
That was the last thing Demon Lord Maou saw before his head was separated from his body.
Aria's PoV (3rd):
Aria looked down onto the severed head of her father. With an ugly expression she spat on it. „Serves you right you son of a bitch.“
At the moment again there was the ice empress not Titus's sister that was standing in the great demon hall.
Slowly she walked towards the Demon Lord's throne and sat down on it. She put on a dignified expression before releasing the five generals with a wave of her hand. The ice around the five exploded and all give of them fell down shocked about their own powerlessness in front of this girl.
Before they could collect themselves they heard a sweet voice:
„You have two choices: Follow my father into his grave or swear your loyalty to me.“
The five of them stood up and looked at each other. One after the other bowed their knee and proclaimed:
„Long live the new Demon Lord.“
Nox the oldest of them took a step forward:
„Milady how shall we refer to you?“
Aria smiled and answered:
„I am the ice empress.“

The Silver Mana - Book 1: Initiate
I used to be a healthy, young guy with a normal life - I had a career planned in professional soccer, a girlfriend, lots of hobbies, and loads of fun. Until the accident. Which changed my life. A few years later I had adjusted to my new reality, adjusted to being in a wheelchair, adjusted to having someone take care of me 24/7. And then the world changed. Old people and kids did not make it. And neither was I supposed to make it. But never count me out. If anything, I am tenacious. This new world was different. People could do magic. And there were monsters. And what about me? I had mana as well, silver mana. Which no one else seemed to have. The only problem was, I did not know what to do with it. Until I really needed to. Author's note: This is the rewrite of Silver Mana. The first bunch of chapters (until I will have caught up to level 2 of the dungeon) should be quite familiar to people that have read the original. There are some changes in content, but the story follows the original fairly closely for at least the first 150-200 pages. Most of the changes are in the writing, and some of the details of how things work. A few of the side characters get a bit more attention too. Some general comments to avoid disappointment: 1. The MC likes to swear. If you object to reading the word "fuck" at least once and usually multiple times each chapter don't read the book. "Fuck" is such a great, allencompassing word... fuck that; what the fuck?; fuck me! Fuck! one word, expressing so many nuances. And, frankly, the people I know that use fuck as a swear word.. they often use it a lot. 2. If you are looking for immediate progression, rapid advancement of the story, etc.... read another book. This one takes a bit. 3. I am NOT Pirateaba (who is writing The Wandering Inn) or anyone close to that level of productivity. If you expect to read 10k words every 3 days, or even just once a week... sorry. I've got a busy life. This is for fun, I have no patreon, paypal, anything, so I write when it is fun and however much is fun. Not more. And sometimes that turns out to be a decent amount, sometimes nothing. I have another book (Marrow) so that complicated things - basically I switch between the two whenever the muse strikes me.
