《Naruto: The Phoenix Wolf Jinchuriki》Chapter 14

“They didn’t really plan this out did they?”
A brown haired girl asked as her her brown eyes watched both her teammate and sensei attempted to assassinate their fake client. Only instead of blood, the man fell apart into mud as his heart was destroyed and head fell off.
“It only a few freshly graduated genin and a jonin.”
The teen that looks to be hovering around eighteen laughed as the others joined in. Either they really believe in their own skills or arrogance. By the looks of it the latter was the most likely choice.
“I will take Oak, you three each take a chunin.” Sui-Feng said as she vanished in a step. A few moments later the clashing of metals were heard in the forest.
“Alright, I will get the youngest looking one.” Izumi said as channeled chakra to her feet and fist. The youngest enemy went flying into the forest while Izumi shook her hand. It seems that she hasn’t mastered the move yet as she released the chakra too late.
“I will take the oldest.” Hana said as the Three Haimaru Brothers launched like wind torpedoes slamming him into the forest.
“It looks like it you and me.” The oldest said with a grin.
Staring at the teen, Ryu quickly grew bored as he took a rough estimate of the teen chakra. He realized that it must be the teen skills as his chakra is hovering around high genin. So the words of elite chunin were either a lie or his strength doesn’t rely on chakra.
He must be more genjutsu or taijutsu specialist. I don’t see a sword or weapon anywhere on his body. There isn’t a weapon scroll wither. Ryu analyzed the teen.
Throwing a Kunai at the teen, he aimed towards the left missing the teen distracted as he laughed at the poor throw. However, Ryu used the chance when the teen’s eyes were off of him and shot forward.

“Boom!”
Ryu fist slammed into the teen ribcage with enough force that he skidded back with a couple broken ribs. Following up with his punch he launched a few kunai in hopes the pain distracted him.
Clink.
The teen in question easily blocked the attacks roaring in anger,“That hurt, brat.”
“Did he expected his ribs breaking to be full of sunshine and daisies.” Hikari sarcastically commented. “Ryu, attempted to infuse fire chakra upon contact. Since we can tell he not up to chunin level of any of the five major villages. We can see what will happen.”
Mentally nodding to Hikari words, Ryu took his taijutsu stance. The teen glared daggers at him as he threw a kunai with a paper bomb attached.
Hmm, Ryu thought as he activated his sharingan and grabbed the kunai before launching it back. Deactivating the sharingan, the teen was surprised by the reversal he panicked and took the blast head on.
Thrown back, the teen was heavily injured as his mangled left arm dangled barely attacked and blood pouring out of wounds covering his body. It was easily seen that he won’t be living much longer even if Ryu didn’t do anything.
“Sorry, Hikari, I don’t think we can test it out on this one.” Ryu apologised for not following directions.
“It fine, I like how you handled the paper bomb. We will just need to find a chance in the future. Now go find Izumi as her chakra weakening the most.” Hikari just shrugged it off.
Nodding, he started heading toward his teammate location after putting a kunai into the nearly dead teen heart.
Arriving at the spot Izumi was fighting, he saw both of them panting as they had a few cuts or burns. Izumi had a large vertical cut going up from her stomach to her chest on the left side. If it wasn’t patched soon, she might actually die to blood loss and the chakra exchastion not making it better.

However, her opponent wasn’t doing much better as his right arm dangled from the side. It looked as if Izumi managed to cut the tendon and muscle near his shoulder. There was also a part of his right leg with severe burns. Judging by his chakra level he was getting low making it a battle of wills and time.
Sneaking around, Ryu dropped as he snuck up behind the unexpecting teen. Izumi sent a slight nod, which Ryu replied and hit the teens spine. He also remembered to try out the fire chakra and watched as yellowish blue flames left a charred hole.
“Your better than we thought.” The teen barely got louder than a whisper before he dropped with lifeless eyes.
“Thanks Ryu.” Izumi said before dropping unconscious.
Pulling out his medical kit, he went to work on patching up Izumi the best he could. He could also tell that both Hana and Sui-Feng finished their fight. Neither of them were badly hurt except slight chakra exhaustion on Hana.
“...and finished.” Ryu said as he cut off the banaged from the roll.
“I see you finished up your fight without much of a problem.” Sui-Feng said as she appeared.
She looked down at Izumi and frowned at the injuries received. A calaculationing look took over as Sui-Feng went into a deep thought. Only after Hana arrived did she broke out of it and looked over her.
Hana arrived with a few cuts and a couple bruises but otherwise in good health. The Three Haimaru Brothers also looked a bit tired as they are still in their puppy stage. Since ninken take a few years to grow as they live nearly three times longer than normal dogs.
“Let's get back to the village, as for the mission it up to the Hokage to decide.” Sui-Feng said as she picked up her unconcious genin.
None of them sensed a lone figure arrive and nod before leaving.

After dropping Izumi off in the hospital, Sui-Feng dismissed the remaining two as she went to report. Hana who was patched up, went back home after saying she would find Ryu in a day or so.
“Well, the mission was a failure, though I doubt anyone would care. Testing out the flame chakra was a successful. Also, judging by the flames coloring you need a day or so to complete fire transformation.” Hikari said as Ryu headed towards the apartment.
“I can feel that I am almost there even if I haven’t actually began training it yet.” Ryu replied as he was tackled by a blonde bullet.
“You back, but you said it would be a few days.” Naruto cried into Ryu sweatshirt.
Sighing as he guessed Naruto felt abandoned, Ryu picked him up and headed inside.
“It was but the mission didn’t turned out like it was supposed to. The client turned out to be a ninja from a smaller village. Why they attacked I don’t really have a clue. So, we returned to the village as Izumi was wounded heavily.” Ryu explained not going into details.
A worried Naruto asked, “Is she going to be ok?”
Nodding as he let out a yawn, it was still quite early as it was barely six. The fighting and adding another two kills took a toll on his mental energy though.
“I am heading to bed as the fight earlier took a lot out of me. Do you need anything before hand though?” Ryu asked.
“No,” Naruto answered with a furious head shake.
“Ok,” Ryu yawned as he crashed as soon as his head hit his pillow.
