Standing at the entrance of the village known as Konohagakure, a boy looking around eight give or take a few months. His straight white hair with a blueish shine has been pulled back into a small ponytail. Leaving a few strands and bangs framing his half covered face allowing his glowing grey eyes and headband.

Those that seen him were blushing at his cuteness, as he wore a dark grey zip up hoodie with a black t-shirt underneath. Over the shirt was a layer of chain mail. On his hands were a pair of burnt orange fingerless gloves with metal plates on the back. Covering his legs he wore a dark pants and sandals with bangs wrapped around his legs and ankles.

The boy was giving off the cool, cute, and mysterious vibe to others wanting to see below the mask. With a single hand in his pocket he was reading a book called ‘Introductory to Bo Staff’ written by Hiruzen Sarutobi. Despite being written by the Third Hokage, it wasn’t really popular.

“Ryu, nice outfit, but where you stuff.” Hana asked appearing from the direction of her clan.

On her back was a small bag, which is filled with different ninja tools, or extra kunai or shurikens. Similar to him both wore a kunai pouch on their right leg.

Pulling out a scroll from his hoodie, Hana just looked away. It is not a secret that he carries most of his training gear or item in a scroll. So she was mentally hitting her head on the wall for not thinking that.

Lucky for her Izumi appeared with a similar bag and outfit. Both of them were black shorts and shirts with blue sandals. Both of their hair were put into a bun.

“So, where Kakashi?” Izumi asked as neither of the three could call him sensei. While they respected his skills, he just depressing or reading Icha Icha. Besides when teaching them something new or sparring, he reads the book giggling.

“Here he comes.” Hikari said as Ryu looked to his left.

Appearing a teen hovering around seventeen with gravity defying silver hair appeared. With most of his face covered by his headband or mask, the rest was covered by a book. He wore the standard jonin outfit with blak clothing and green flak jacket with red swirl on the back.

“He is on time.” Ryu said poking the teen side. He was making sure it wasn’t a clone as genjutsu were useless on him.

“Let's get going, so we can be back before nightfall.” Kakashi said not looking up from his book.

Exiting the gate, looked around with his eyes while both Hana and Izumi spun around with smiles. Kakashi just ignore them as he continued to read his book. He would glance around once in awhile.

“Is there a reason we are going at a civilian pace?” Ryu asked since while they couldn’t match a Kakashi speed, they could move a bit faster.

“I was giving time for you to plan, and we will be there in about two hours at this speed.” Kakashi said. “You do have a map of the area around the camp.”

“Kakashi, you never gave us the map.” Hana said with Ryu and Izumi nodding.

“Oh,” was all they got as he unsealed the map and handed it to them.

The three of them looked over the map and seen that that the cap was either around or on top of a large hill. This allowed the bandits to watch the road as well give them time to move into position. Which might explain how the bandits know which one merchant to hit or not.

“Since they most likely on the hill, and assuming they have a decent look out. It most likely won’t be simple to study the camp without being detected. Checking for any unreported hostages is another thing we need to be aware of.” Ryu said as he mentally thanked Hikari for reading battle strategies and help training him in tactics.

“Hmm, I suppose but since they have the guts to set up camp so close to one of the Five Hidden Villages. Either they are prideful in their strength, stupid, or have something they believe that will save them.” Izumi explained her thoughts.

“There is also a small chance it might be an ambush. However I doubt that the case as no one would get anything from killing three genin and a Jonin. If anything that might cause some tension between the villages that already there.” Hana said. “Or mother’s said.”

“It might be farmers having a bad year, but it is a bit early. So, that a low possibility, so they might be making a name for themselves. Since they haven’t really harmed beside making others lose money.” Ryu said.

“So they are they doing it as a hobby?” Izumi raised an eyebrow.

“Maybe,” Ryu hummed. “So they might have some with a bit of training or experience living on the streets. Since they might be able to feel if they can take or sense more than what in sight.”

“Or you can just be over thinking the bandits skills in general.” Hikari said.

“Or, they are just common thugs that haven’t set up a sales channel for the ones they kidnap.” Ryu said.

“So we know next to nothing on their skills, beside no reported missing nin in their group.” Hana asked in more of a statement than a question.

“Once we see group we can narrow it down but in the end they are still bandits.” Izumi said finishing the topic.

Kakashi who was listening just mentally nodded to their thoughts. He felt they were a bit too excited when they most likely will have their first kill. Only he felt they were a bit young but he was five when he made genin and six for chunin. Than five years later at eleven he made jonin, which he already ended quite a few lives.

It has to happen at some point in their career. Might as well get it out of the way. Kakashi thought as he picked up the speed putting his book away.

Arriving at the general area for the bandit camp, Ryu began using his unrefined sensing skill. It takes a few seconds to feel what around him. According to Hikari it just take time and experience to master.

Feeling fifteen small chakra towards the top of the hill, he estimated they were above civilian but lower than mid academy student. He felt them all gathered but don’t feel like they are leaving camp soon. Soon relying what he feels, Hana and Izumi nodded while Kakashi looked at him.

“Are you a sensor?” Kakashi asked as he knows a few that might be willing to train him.

“Hmm, not a great one, but with time and experience I will get there.” Ryu said which Kakashi nodded.

“Do you want me to introduce you to some sensor in the village?” Kakashi asked.

Thinking about it, Ryu ended up shaking his head. “Thanks for the offer, but I would rather work on building up my jutsus and taijutsu for the time being. My Sensor skills will grow in time and experience.”

“Alright, have you began learning any more jutsus.”

“No, I recently managed to get my four fire releases I know down to two hand seals.” Ryu said since Hikari hasn’t taught him anymore. Until he perfects what he has she won’t teach him anymore.

“Do you want me to teach you a few?” Kakashi offered.

“It ok, until I perfected with what I got, I shouldn’t. What the use of Jack of all trades, but master of none. Well trades are jutsus in this situation.” Ryu said.

Hana and Izumi who were listening disagreed with Ryu thoughts as it better to know more Jutsu than four. Kakashi on the other hand just nodded while also disagreeing but decided to leave it for the time being. They have a mission and debating over this wasn’t really the place or time.

“Alright, what the plan.” Izumi asked.

“Since I sense most hovering around the center of the camp. They are either planning or recently attacked a merchant.” Ryu said.

“Do you feel anyone on lookout?” Hana asked.

“No, which means they are confident no one will attacking their camp at this time.” Ryu explained.

“Than should we sneak in and surround them?” Izumi questioned.

“I don’t really have experience in fighting a group.” Ryu said which Hana nodded.

“Than we just need to divide the group.” Kakashi simply said.

After agreeing on the plan and few back up plans, they all nodded before leaving for their position.

Ryu had the honor alongside Kakashi of being a distraction and gaining the most opponents. They are to knock on the gates or in this case cause wonderful art with paper bombs.

Hana was going to come from the left side of the camp, with one of the Haimaru Brothers while two covered the back. Izumi was on the right side with Kakashi clone, which will dispel it gets hit. So when the explosion go off, they are to sneak into the camp and search while taking out the bandits left behind.

“Let make some art.” Ryu said before he felt a shiver down his spine. “Why do feel funny when I said that.”

“I don’t know,” Hikari replied with the same feeling.

Silently planting the bomb, Kakashi made the hand seal and watched as the bombs went off. The bandits inside scrambled to investigate alongside grabbing their weapons. Most of them used either cheaply made swords or axes with one using a pitchforks.

Pulling out a few Kunai, Ryu threw them into the camp towards the bandits that gathered. Only aiming to incapacitate them, he watched as a single bandit pull his comrade in front. Everything began to slow down for Ryu as he watched a single kunai lodged into a bandit head.

The bandit laughed as he dropped his friend body kicking it out of the way.

Ryu body felt cold, as he felt Hikari cut chakra flowing to his eyes. Why was chakra going to his eyes in the first place, a question he will ask later. The contents of his stomach unsettled as he pushed it down. His skin turned pale as his body was in the process of what just happened.

“Ryu, are you ok? Can you continue.” Kakashi asked.

A part of him wanted to say no, but he knew this was apart of being a shinobi. He has to get used to the feeling of killing others, but he didn’t need to enjoy it. Nodding his head, Kakashi nodded leading the way into the camp where they started to incapacitate or kill the few bandits left.

By the time they finished with the fifteen bandits, both Hana and Izumi were in the same situation as him. It appeared they accidently killed or purposely killed, which Ryu didn’t know and didn’t ask. As fifteen the fifteen bandits were now down to seven, as eight had shurikens or kunai in them. Only Kakashi got close enough and snapped their necks.

“I would say great job, but by the looks of it you would disagree.” Kakashi said as they finished tying up the living bandits.

“We killed them.” Hana said.

“Yeah, but did any of you enjoy it?” Kakashi asked receiving three head shakes.

“This is the life of a shinobi, and we endure what others can’t. In time the pain and emotions that come along with killing will numb. However, it is only when you like to kill or cause others to suffer that you need to worry.” Kakashi explained reliving a part of them.

“Let get back to the village and turn in the mission. Than you can have three days off of training and relax.” Kakashi said as he was worried about the three genin.

===

Arriving back in the village, the sun appeared to be closing in on the horizon. Neither Ryu nor his teammates were in the mood to rush back. So they spent the time walking at a civilian pace, skipping lunch. They weren’t in the mood to eat.

“I will go turn in the mission report, and I will see you in three days for training.” Kakashi said vanishing in leaves.

“I will see you then.” Izumi said walking towards her clan’s compound.

“Do you want to come over for dinner. Mother has been asking about it since you missed last week.” Hana asked.

“Ok, I will grab Naruto and see you in an hour or so.” Ryu agreed as he not really in the mood to cook for himself or Naruto today.

Nodding, Hana followed by the triplets heading back home, as did Ryu. He had a feeling that Naruto was there.

Thinking back to the mission, Ryu finally decided to ask a question that pop up during it.

“Hikari, why were there chakra going to my eyes. Last I knew I didn’t have a dojutsu.”

“Well, you do now as the god allowed me to grant you one. So for becoming a genin I gave you the sharingan, though I did change a bit of it. No doubt in the future you will unlock the Mangekyō Sharingan. This is when your best friend dies or you feel extreme stress.” Hikari began to explain.

“Anyways, if you use the Mangekyō Sharingan, it will cause blindness. However, there a stage above it called the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. This is the stage your will take when they evolve. Lucky you have me or you would need to switch eyes with someone of the Uchiha to achieve this state.”

“What about the Curse of Hatred that we heard about the Uchiha clan?” Ryu asked a bit worried about it. As for the clan or anyone finding out about his eyes, he doesn’t plan on showing or telling others.

“That is more of their pride being hurt and retaliating than anything. I will also mention that it was a toss up between the Sharingan and Byakugan. I chose the Sharingan for this reason over the other.” Hikari said.

An image appeared in his mind of a giant golden nine tails fox with purple armor fighting a rock giant. If he had to describe it, beside being a bit terrifying for the current him, it was an awesome sight.

“Yep, that purple armor is an ability of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. So that's why I went with the Sharingan. There a third eye, but you don’t need to worry about it for the time being. You can’t achieve it as you don’t have the body nor the right chakra for it. Also, you will have more powerful abilities in the future that don’t rely on the eyes.” Hikari said making Ryu look towards the future.

“Ok, but that is the future. I haven’t even mastered fire transformation nor leaned a B-rank jutsu.” Ryu said.

“In time you will, so work hard as I got another surprise when you achieve chunin.” Hikari said as he opened the door to his apartment.
