《The L10Ns》Chapter 33- Strange Meetings Part 2

“Take a seat” Riäzur pulls out two dusty chairs from either side of the altar.
The man sits and makes himself comfortable as Riäzur grabs a black concoction from a bench on one side of the room, where a few chemical reactions are slowly taking place.
Pouring the concoction into blood-stained chalices, he gives one to the man.
“As a disciple of Aegi, poison does not affect you” Riäzur assures the man when he raises an eyebrow at the concoction.
Shrugging his shoulders, the man downs the concoction, licking his lips tastily afterwards.
“Mmm, you must tell me what that was; I’ve never tasted poison quite so delicious”
“Molten Deathbloom, matured over the years” He answers with a small chuckle.
“So Riäzur, I believe it is time you lecture me on your god, Kravulkor, for I am interested in him indeed” He leans in expectantly.
He clears his throat “Kravulkor is the god of the undead, lord and master of the seventy sixth demonic dimension”
“You know of the dimensions?” The man sounds slightly surprised.
He snorts “Of course, any learned priest knows of their gods’ dimensions and their gods’ enemy’s ones too”
“Reasonable, however the overworld gods do not tell us about them”
“But you mentioned them as if you did” He narrows his eyes, wondering.
“I…have had the great luck of meeting Aethelx, around a month back. He taught me much of what I should know” He confesses.
A sparkle of fear blinks in Riäzur’s eyes, before he washes it away, focusing on keeping a straight face and counting the time.
“A lucky man indeed you must be, to meet a god in person”
“Well, he did kill me a few times first”
This surprised him; since one should and could not talk so casually about being killed.
“You have died before then?” He pries, searching for what could be useful knowledge.
“Yes, many a time, but my goddess watches over me” He looks lovingly at the ceiling.
Riäzur however, feels nothing but slight dread; dread at the fact that this man is not only blessed by Aegi, his supposed immortality is but a sign of his championship to her. But then he remembers something.
He remembers the players he had met long, long ago, and how they too could escape from death’s clutches.
“So tell me Riäzur, you seemed to be sealed down here, how long has it been since you have surfaced?” The man moves the topic on to something akin to small talk.
“A few hundred years. It was on the recess of the first age when I sealed myself inside, and now there is a tunnel back to the surface”
“Indeed interesting, though I suppose you must be quite far behind on the times being stuck down here” The man notes almost pityingly.
“I have no need to know of the outside world, all I need is knowledge that my god watches over me” he snorts proudly.
“And does he?”
“Of course he does, he is my god afterall” He lies through his teeth, fully aware he has not felt the warmth of his god for almost a millennium.
However his powers have been with him since the miners tunneled through to his darling Arina a few months ago, and he took this as a sign of his god setting his warm gaze upon him once more.
“So is it your god who gives you the powers of necromancy?” The man interestedly asks.

“Yes, for without him, I would not be able to cast much, or live long without his blessing. And for this long life and power I pray to him”
The man nods understanding.
“So, priest of Aegi, tell me, why do you pray to her?”
“Because immortality is my goal and who better to watch over me than the creator of such a thing” He answers truthfully, shocking Riäzur vehemently.
“Aegi…” He whispers wistfully to himself. For it was a word he had not heard for a long time “Since when did that bitch get followers” His face drops into a distasteful sneer, unable to keep up the act.
He had wanted to kill the man who said he was a follower of Aegi when he met him, but he was interested to see the caliber of disciple the bitch had following her. He did not amount the man to much.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not sure I heard you correctly there, Riäzur”
“I’m sorry you didn’t hear. I said, when did that bitch get followers?” He smirks at the man’s quite shocked face.
“Please stop using such a name for my goddess” He pleads nicely.
“Hah, now why would I use another name? It is so appropriate for the whore of Kravulkor to be called such” He laughs at the man’s open-mouth shock “Oh, did your Aethelx not tell you about this?”
“He mentioned her being the goddess of immortality”
“Hah, since when did she have a title? Really this world went to shit when I sat down here. But no longer” He stands up, only to be stopped by the man.
“You haven’t told me why you’re insulting my goddess” His voice is stern, unusual for such a usually gentle voice.
“I don’t have time to teach ignorant fools, and you don’t have time to listen. Goodbye” He laughs maniacally as the man’s eyes widen, before frothing at the mouth and collapsing to the floor. “What fool believes he can drink poison when still living?”
He chuckles brightly as he goes to collect his old staff, stopping as he remembered their brief conversation “Ah, but he’ll be back, so I can assure myself I’ll be able to torture him over and over again just like Kravulkor did to Aegi. HA! Nothing gets my bones rattling then beating down the enemies of my god” Maniacal laughter freely escapes his lips as he goes for the stairs.
“What about this?” A chair smashes into the back of his head, rattling his bones as he collapses onto the floor in a heap.
“The poison” He exclaims as he rolls around to see the man standing above him, looking rather pissed.
“It was delicious” A gleaming smile appears, twisting into an angry grimace “But it won’t be as nice as teaching you to respect my goddess”
Riäzur, quickly tries to cast a deathbolt, the hastily conjured spell fizzling as a meaty fist to connects with his skull, breaking the brittle bone and spattering what remains of his dead blood on the floor.
Before he can retaliate much, his frail legs and arms are broken. Soon, all he can do is look angrily at the man as he ties him up with the multiple ropes and chains.
He also moves the altar, with much effort, on top of Riäzor’s legs, crushing them entirely.
“What is this? I thought you said you would not hurt another brother?” He exclaims angrily, although he knows he attacked first.

“I did, but you insulted my goddess to my face, called her both a bitch and a whore. And most of all you laughed at her, nobody laughs at the one I entrust my life to, nobody”
“Of course I would insult your whor-”
*CRACK*
“Please refrain from insulting my goddess, for it will only cause you much pain” The man looks sternly at him.
Riäzor manages a cackle through his broken jaw, before staring at the man in anger. The man just paced up and down, thinking profusely.
“I should kill you, but I have vowed never to kill, never to hurt. Though I’m sure hurting you is not against this transgression as allowing such insults would be an insult to my existence”
Riäzor spits on the ground “Heeeeaeeah”
“But instead, I’ll let you live. You can feel your god right? Well…I’ll make sure you live long enough to feel him disappear, to feel him die” His grin widens “I’ll make sure you know that it was your fault that your god dies by my hands, that Kravulkor’s corpse is raped by the crows and maggots and by me...all because of you”
Riäzor does not insult, does not respond, only sits staring into the unblinking cold eyes of the man, as they flash a gleaming gold, and feels a single feeling; dread.
“Now, sit tight and relish the feeling of your god, for it will be gone soon. Also, you said the seventy sixth dimension right? Thanks for the information”
Walking out the room and up the stairs, he leaves Riäzor staring at the ceiling, feeling dread snake through his body, weighing him down more than all the chains and the altar ever could.
Little did he know that the man was debating a few strange things that were on his mind, especially about what he learnt, or did not want to learn.
Tandra was waiting at the top of the stairs, bow at the ready, aimed towards the guards.
She almost jumped out of her own skin when the man popped out from the stairs, looking just dandy and smiling insanely like usual.
“What happened down there?” She asks curiously, unknowing of what happened below.
“Just a conversation about our god’s, priestly stuff” He chuckles lightly and begins to walk down the corridor.
She notes one tiny thing however; his hand is stained with a speck of black blood. That speck sent shivers down her spine for a strange, dreading thought.
“Am I finally allowed to get some rest and a shower?” She calls after him, elated they’re finally leaving the cave.
“For now, but don’t get too comfortable, for I have a little journey to do and I’m thinking you may want to join” He gives her a wide, devious grin.
He’s planning something utterly insane, she’s sure of it.
…
-One week later-
“A…h, you’re sating you..rself” Fadrim dies, chest ripped open, yet most organs still intact.
Ankorr, bashes the rock with a bloody fist.
This Fadrim, crazy piece of shit, keeps returning to him, cutting himself; letting ‘It’ loose to drink him dry every ten minutes, whether it be night or day.
It has been a week; a week of non-stop Fadrim cutting himself. A week of non-stop torture.
Every ten minutes, Ankorr has to fight the feeling of desire, to fight the hunger of murdering Fadrim, feeling his innards pulsate in his hands, in his mouth.
He does not care about Fadrim’s life that much, rather the fresh memories of his merciless slaughter haunt him; rip his humanity away piece by piece as he can do nothing but watch himself do such a thing.
Although it’s only been a week since they had first met, He had killed Fadrim over a hundred times, drank his blood more than a hundred times.
The sweet taste of Fadrim lingers in his mouth now, ever present, ever swilling in the back, sending ripples of joy through his body which disgusts him to the core.
But this time round, he was finally able to stop himself somewhat, to stop the ripping hunger from bursting out within him and plunging through Fadrim’s body as if it were made from sweetmeats.
While he let the hunger die, let the fresh blood soak into the ground, he drank water, gulped it down and drenched his body in it.
He had tried to hide himself in the river, but Fadrim had poured gallons and gallons of his blood into it, engulfing him in a cloud of his own blood.
The tearing pain of both hunger and horror as ‘It’ tried to drink the blood lustily while screaming internally in pain at the water almost drove him mad.
He didn’t try to hide in the water after that first experience.
“Ah, Master, you seem hungry still” Fadrim appears, sweaty from running and slices his chest open.
‘It’ rips its way outside Ankorr, taking him over, dragging him towards the sweet, juicy river of blood to which he vehemently tries to pull himself away, to drag HIS body, away from the blood.
Eventually, he loses his grip both in body and mind, only having it return as he holds the punctured lungs of Fadrim, licking the red juices from it like a lollipop.
Dropping the lungs with a splodge, he curses himself, Fadrim and ‘It’. He curses how his life of imprisonment has become torture, has become a long wave of blood that engulfs him, bringing him both waking nightmares and drills madness into his mind.
‘It’ is getting so used to Fadrim, that sometimes, when Fadrim appears, Ankorr can feel ‘It’ awakening, as if greeting the hand that feeds it.
Ten minutes pass again, so quickly, so silently.
Fadrim walks up once more with a wide grin.
“Come, sate your hunger, till you can control it” He laughs and disembowels himself, letting fresh squidgy intestines litter the floor.
Ankorr licks at the sight of the delicacy before slamming his head on the rock, subsiding ‘It’ slightly, giving him enough time to dive headfirst into the water and engulf as much of the lake as he can.
‘It’ calms down and he leaves the water, drenched to the core.
Fadrim is on his knees, still alive, barely, and untouched.
The sweet, sweet smell wafts to Ankorr’s nose, and he plunges his head into the water, drowning the smell, drowning the feeling, drowning ‘It’.
Taking his head out from the water, he sees Fadrim kneeling, yet unmoving and unblinking.
He notes a wide grin on his face and two thumbs up before Fadrim disappears in a column of light.
