《The L10Ns》Chapter 16- The Day of Harvest, Part 2

Ankorr sat on a small bench, deep in thought about what had just occurred.
Only a few minutes ago had he been in the center of that bloodbath, being sliced, pummeled and pierced by many weapons….yet he remained alive.
He had checked his health bar when he followed the skeleton in black robes, only to find that he had eighty seven percent remaining.
That information alone was enough to bring him into a state of shock.
All that fighting and he only took thirteen percent damage, something had felt very off to him, especially with the things that happened to him.
He now thinks upon that, pondering as to how he did not die, even though he had been a victim of three arrows through his skull.
That should have killed him, but somehow it didn’t affect him. Nothing seemed to affect him in the long term.
Even though his leg was smashed to a pulp, it had somehow been fine after barely a minute.
Even though his arm was ripped by the chains, it had started working again terrifyingly soon.
Even though his body was pierced like a porcupine, he still walked as if nothing had happened.
To him, this was a situation far beyond bizarre, because the amount of damage he sustained was not human, yet he came out barely scathed for some reason unknown to him.
He fears as to what he truly is; Windshaw told him he was a formless demon, but Ankorr has no idea what that really means.
All he knows is that he might have gotten a small glimpse at why these Blood Drinkers are called immortal.
He replayed the bloodbath over and over again, finding an oddity which was terribly strange and frightening to him.
Jumping up, he smashes his fist against the wall as hard as he can, hearing the resounding crack of his knuckles breaking.
Looking at his broken knuckles, he feels a small grin sneak upon his face which he erases upon noticing.
He feels no pain, not even a little, which is both a godsend and terrifying to him.
Being able to feel no pain would surely give him an advantage in battle, but feeling no pain made him feel empty, less human.
Sitting back down, he rubbed his broken knuckles thoughtfully.
With this, he fully knew, or in reality, accepted the fact that he wasn’t human anymore. He felt no pain and he could not be killed by normal methods.
What he was, he didn’t know.
A cuss lightly seeps out his mouth as he remembers that Windshaw knew what he was and that he’d have to remain here for longer than he suspected.
Windshaw was a real bastard to him, seeing as though he offered a way out but in return Ankorr would not be able to learn about himself, or his ally.
And since he had already made a deal to find where his ally was, he couldn’t gain the answers he was looking for about himself until next month at least.
While he silently cursed Windshaw, he begins to formulate a plan of questions he required answering as he knew nothing and knowledge about himself would prove invaluable, especially if he ever wanted to leave this place.
After a while his eye grew back and his knuckles regenerated too.
Within moments, a goblin sauntered down the corridor towards him
“You’re up” It squeaked out before disappearing off
Ankorr stood up and began to walk towards the thick iron gate that was the entrance to his battle.
….
“THE IMMORTAL BITCH” The skeleton in long black robes screams to the crowd while Ankorr walks out, made nervous by the sheer amount of monsters roaring from blood but he steeled his determination.

“OOOAAAAAAHHHH!” The crowd roars in both confusion and anticipation at this new entertainment.
“AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST BY NO MEANS! THE COOOOORPSE FUUUCKERRRRRRRRR!” The host thrusts his hips into the air eliciting a tremendous roar from the crowd who scream in joy at a young mindflayer walking out, her tentacles wiggling around impatiently.
The host throws his hands into the air causing the arena to go quiet and let the participants peer at one another, sizing each up.
Kill Kill KILL
The voice once again penetrates Ankorr’s mind, but it has no effect on him, rather it is a nuisance to him.
“LET THE BLOODBATH…BEGIN” The host sprints out of the arena along with an ecstatic roar from the crowd.
The participants all charge at eachother, eyes crazed and some clouded as if in a trance.
Ankorr’s first opponent is the troll, who lumbers towards him swinging a meaty fist.
To the surprise of the crowd, he doesn’t fully dodge the crude swing completely; he leaves an arm in the way, causing it to take the blow with a painful shattering sound.
The force of the blow is too much for Ankorr, as he is blasted back and collapses onto the floor.
Rolling away from the stomp of the troll, he jumps back up and charges the troll, ducking under a heavy swing.
His clawed hand punctures into the stomach and ripping it open slightly, the sound echoes with the screams of the troll and the chanting of the crowd.
Blood splashes out; drenching his arm and most of his face and before the troll can recover from the pain, his other hand punctures in and rips open the stomach further.
Guts plop onto the floor and the troll bashes his fists onto Ankorr’s back, sending him flying into the troll.
With a grin, he concludes his experiment as a success, but he is still in wonder as to how it works.
Inside the troll, he has no problems slicing away at the innards, drenching himself with acid, bile, blood and all other bodily fluids.
The troll, can do nothing but wail in pain as it is literally ripped to pieces from the inside.
Within half a minute, the troll smashes into the ground, dead.
Ripping out the back of the troll, Ankorr wipes away some liver from his eyes and spots the battle raging fiercely in all parts of the arena:
The dryad and succubus are duking it out; the Succubus is hopping back, slicing the dryad with her whip while laughing daintily. The dryad is gritting her teeth as she tries to close the distance, yet fails to do so.
The naga has constricted the orc, slowly crushing it while holding the gauntlets of the bugbear, blood spurting from its unprotected hands. The mindflayer is behind the bugbear, watching the three fight calmly.
Quickly taking action, he digs his way out of the troll’s corpse and runs towards the mindflayer.
A few feet away from the mindflayer, the bugbear suddenly turns around sending a bloody gauntlet to Ankorr.
Shocked at the sudden attack, he doesn’t dodge it fast enough and hears his jaw cracking from the blow.
Immediately, he is tripped by a scaly tail and the heavy bugbear lands on him, pinning him to the floor.
A wave of steel fists rain down, soon turning his head into a bloody pulp.
But the darkness that took him disappears within a second as opens his eyes, seeing a still heart resting on his hand, covered in blood. But worse still is that he is straddling the remains of something, so destroyed he can’t even recognize what it used to be.

In utter horror, he chucks the heart away and mumps up turning away from the sight. However, he spots an armless bugbear and a naga without a tail, both seemingly dead from the shock. Also a headless body, of the mind flayer Ankorr believes, lies on the ground, no blood dripping from it.
The frothing roars of the crowd blasts in his ears and he breaks from his horrified trance, hearing everyone almost screaming their heads off chanting ‘Immortal Bitch’ to the sky.
Ankorr, just looks down at his blood covered hand, the back of his mind wondering where the other one is.
What did I do?
….
Hörttthlyshïe wiggled her tentacles delightedly upon seeing the corpse of the one the host called ‘Immortal Bitch’.
She was very pleased with herself, successfully controlling those three dumb monsters to her left and now she has a most delicious corpse to play with.
Sending a command to the naga, it tightens its grip on the orc, causing bones to audibly crack, while it cries from its hands being further ripped by the bugbears gauntlets.
Having them kill themselves, or let themselves be killed was a much more difficult task than she could handle and she does enjoy watching them struggle.
She saunters towards the headless being, grinning at the brutality at the death.
Leaning down, she first drags her tentacles among his feet sliding them between the crevices in sheer delight.
Feet are one of her favorite things and the toes were especially scrumptious for her. So she suckled upon each, taking a nice bite out of the big toe since she was feeling a bit peckish.
But as her teeth dug into the toe, she felt the body twitch on her tentacles, sending shivers down her spine.
Before she can react, the foot blasts upwards smacking the back of her throat causing vomit to fly up her gullet and squeeze past the foot.
Jumping up, vomit spews out over the floor and before she can recover, the headless body bounces up, clawed hands swiftly puncturing her throat.
No thought has time to enter her mind before her throat is ripped out and she is decapitated.
The three who were controlled, immediately stop fighting each other and turn in fear to see the headless being lifting up the dead mind flayer, pouring her blood down its open top.
They may be trying to kill eachother, but all three of them can feel the need to kill the most dangerous first.
Charging, the orc slams its axe on the shoulder, embedding it deeply while the naga constricts it and the bugbear smashes a gauntlet into its chest, breaking some ribs.
Bones crack on both arms of the headless being and the naga suddenly wails in pain as its tail is clawed into three.
Blood spurting out the open end, it falls back revealing the headless being’s arms to be at an impossible angle, its fingers bent backwards as if they were forward.
The orc, slices an arm off, getting a spurt of fresh blood for its effort, while the bugbear lands a punch on the other arm.
However the arm suddenly rises up, claws piercing the bugbears arm and with a slice, a gauntleted arm plops onto the floor.
Blood spatters the sky as the bugbear screams in horror and anger, attacking with the other arm.
The screams increase tenfold as headless being’s the arm snakes to the other side and slices off the bugbears other arm.
The orc, terror wild in his eyes starts running away, leaving the naga and bugbear to scream on the floor over their missing limbs.
He turns back, seeing that the headless being just stand there without moving, covered in blood and wounds.
Tears in his eyes, he tries his best to ignore the assault of displeasure from the crowd at his cowardice, but he wants to live and not end up like those other two.
He soon reaches the remaining two fighters in the arena: The dryad and the Succubus, who have continued to fight despite what just transpired as they had not noticed
The orc rushes in between the two of them, eyes pleading for help, but receives a slicing whip around his neck and sees the drayd rush past him in glee
Blood gushes from his throat as the sharp whip is jerked back towards its owner and the orc dies gurgling on his own blood.
The dryad used that momentary distraction to close the distance and by the time the succubus had brought her whip back, she had been punctured by a set of wicked nails and before she could react to that, a pair of filed sharp teeth bit at her throat.
The crowds roared as the dryad tore out the Succubus’ throat and chucked it to the crowd.
She turned towards the remaining living beings to see that a headless being was standing there, unmoving.
Raising her eyebrows in confusion and fear at the strange being, she saw the two monsters screaming weakly on the floor while the headless body stood there. She felt truly terrified at what remained in the arena. But still, a grin spread across her face as an idea formed in her mind.
Grabbing the sharp whip off the floor, she saunters over and cracks the whip towards the headless being.
It coils round but the being immediately charges her way loosening the whip to the point where she couldn’t bring it back to slice the being up.
Dropping the whip, the being slows down and stops as the coiled whip plops to the floor.
Just inches away from her it stands, covered in blood, puke and other bodily fluids.
Gulping, she backs off slightly, only to trip upon her own feet.
Her feet fly to the air and graze the lower leg of the being.
It immediately rushes forward, claws screeching along her leg, now spurting blood.
The claws embed in her stomach and her last sight is seeing the hand glide up towards her face, bisecting her body on the way.
Even though she died, the being did not stop and to the chuckling of the crowd and to some of their delight, it kept dissecting the body; ripping and chucking pieces of it all around the arena, making it look like a bomb had exploded inside her.
This spectacle lasts for a good half an hour before the head regenerates in front of the public, to which the look in awe. They truly feel special coming to watch this harvest match.
At once, they begin chanting ‘Immortal Bitch’ to the sky with a dedicated frenzy as the Immortal Bitch looks down at his hand silently
….
Windshaw clapped from the stands, disguised in the clothes of a common ghost.
He was truly interested by this new development; the Blood Drinker could be unleashed even if just temporarily.
Feeling elated, he hovered off back to the tavern, plans already circling in his mind.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
