Chapter 24- Monster Island part 3
“The trail stops here. But there seems to be no sign of the dire wolf or its pursuers.” I said while looking around for any sign of the wolf’s mother.
“Master there seems to be signs of a bodies being dragged across the jungle and they seem to be heading west.” The white magician said while pointing a few meters on the side of us.
“What do you think happened here?” I wondered loudly.
“Hmm. Something unexpected must have happened. Another predator maybe? Might be a D rank monster.” Surmised Dean.
“There’s no use standing around here doing nothing. Might as well go check it out.” I decided.
With the white magician leading forward. We followed the tracks heading west.
After ten minutes of walking, we could see a large cave up ahead.
“The tracks stops here. So whatever attacked the dire wolf, must be holing up in that cave.” Said the white magician.
I grinned. “Now this is my favourite part. Killing monsters is my specialty.”
“And humans. Don’t forget humans.” Quipped Luce.
“Well fuck you.” I quipped back. Slightly bothered by what he said.
“Let’s smoke the fuckers out.” I loudly said while manifesting a hand grenade.
“Wait. Before you do anything, what does that thing do in your hand?” ask Dean worriedly.
“It blows stuff up.” I smiled innocently.
“No. Put that away. The pup’s mother could be in there still alive. So no blowing the enemies up till were sure.” Said Dean, eyes staring at me stubbornly.
“Fine then, we’ll do it your way.” I said while making the grenade disappear.
“Alright. Here’s what we'll do. We will make a commotion outside to grab their attention.” Said Dean.

“Easy.” I grinned, manifesting the grenade again and throwing it just outside of the cave.
“VECTRE!” screamed Dean.
We instantly jumped back and covered our ears, before the grenade explodes.
*BOOM*
“What did I say!” shouted Dean, in an annoyed voice.
“What? It did the job.” I shrugged.
Mia just giggled and looked at me while licking her lips indecently.
“You do know I’m 12 right Mia.” I ask nervously.
She simply giggled and went up close to my ear and whispered. “Robots do not care about age Master. Only humans would put such stupid restrictions.”
Before I could answer, multiple angry squeals could be heard inside the cave. The monsters finally came out.
Six pair of beady eyes were glaring at us and they were snarling.
“Shit! Giant Rats! And there’s six of them. Individually they are classified as D rank beast, but a pack of them are classified as lower C rank monsters.” Cried out Dean in surprise.
“Relax. I’ll take care of this. So sit back, pull up a chair, drink some tea and enjoy the show.” I said to Dean while laughing.
“Who said I’m scared. I am not scared.” Said Dean defensively.
“I didn’t say you wer-“
“Master!” warned the white magician as all of six of the giant rats charge at us.
Instantly, I manifested two arms 13mm Auto anti-freak combat pistol AKA the fucking Jackal from Hellsing.
Pointing the two slick black combat pistol at my attacker I pulled the trigger and emptied the whole clip on the two giant rats.
The bullets riddled their rat face full of holes. By the time I was done, you couldn’t even recognise that it’s a rat anymore.
The white mage put up the barrier as two rats were about to whip him with his tail. The long flexible tail, smashed against the translucent barrier and cracked it to pieces. Luckily that was enough to diminish the momentum of the tail.

Before they could strike again. Mia transformed her arm into a machine gun and went wild as she crazily pulled the trigger and gunned down the giant rats.
By the time she let go, the machine gun was smoking. She shot a wild grin at me, pleased by the results, as the two rats turned a puddle of blood and guts.
I finished off the fifth rat, while leaving the last one to Dean to take care of.
“Let’s see the results of your training buddy.” I muttered.
“Shit! Those guys are finish already. I have to get stronger!” promised Dean in his heart.
The Giant rat, lunged forward as it tried to bite Dean with its large two front teeth.
“Skill: Light Step!” chanted Dean. This was the D rank skill book that the man in the academy gave him. This was a movement skill book.
Bright lights surrounded Dean’s leg, enabling him to move twice as fast compared to before and dodged the attack from the giant rat.
“Spell: Light Blast.” Chanted Dean. This was the D rank spell that he gained in the ceremony. Focusing all of his light element in the palm of his hands. The light elements gather and Dean compressed it longer, as he kept dodging the barrage of attacks from the giant rat.
Finally having enough energy. He surged forward and pointed the glowing palm point blank on the Giant rats face.
A large beam blasted the rat's head causing it to explode. The headless rat, came down with a thud on the ground.
“Yes! I defeated a D rank monster!” cried out Dean happily.
“Damn. You’ve gotten stronger!” I praised him. Genuinely happy that my best friend have improved.
“Yeah! But I’m out of mana though!” he said exhaustedly and collapsed.
The dire wolf pup cried out in alarm, as it ran to Dean.

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

It was then did John use a dark magic that did he got them out of that situation. But in exchange for the princess's safety, John Sarvod was exiled from A'vetheas for using 'demon magic'. What will he do after the life he knew was uprooted and taken away from him? Will the 'demon magic' that caused his exile from the Elven Tribe bring him into a slow descent into madness? Book 2 description: Having found a life for himself outside of A'vetheas, a family, enrolled to a good school, and a potential romantic partner, John Sarvod continues on with his life the best he could, carrying himself forward, until... He messes it all up again. This time, however, it isn't because of his magic. It was by his own demerit. What is the cause of despair? Find out in Consignor Book 2. Old description (Without spoiler) John Sarvod, user of the most powerful healing spell [Heal], the rare ability to heal and recover all injuries, is the only human that lives in the Elven Tribe. Though he was gifted with [Heal], he could not cast any magic other than his one and only [Heal]. Aside from his current training to become a royal scribe, he is known to all elves as the ‘Healer of A’vetheas’ and had gained a certain amount of respect from them due to how much he works. But life for him in the Elven Tribe, A’vetheas wasn't never always like this. Because he was human, and that the Elves have isolated themselves from the outside world, his presence initially was not welcomed by the elves that thinks highly of him today. It was all thanks to the Elven Queen who brought him in, and the Elven Princess, Raina Valindra Eridi, that he could reach this day. But things changed when the Raina that he so adored used the teleportation device for a small date with him, where they met with danger that the [Heal] that he relied all this time could not save him from… In his desperate attempts to save Raina, John ended up committing a taboo of the elves. As for his punishment when he returned to A’vetheas? That was just the beginning of him, continuing the path that he had inevitably taken prior to the life he had before he lived in A’vetheas. This is a story of a not too average person end up becoming something that he could have never imagined. A monster? A demon? A god? Only time will tell. It is just a matter of time that John Sarvod would embrace his true self. Content Warning because I want to have flexibility, and maybe it gets overwhelming at times. I have a backlog already, this story won't be dropped. Edited: romance tag to action tag, story has more or less of both, but yeah. There's slice of life tagged in because my story progresses not too quickly (by my opinion) I like to take things slow, I suppose. :3
