《HERO CHRONICLES:》Chapter 10: [ Adventure Start!!! ]

Standing in front of the gate, I checked my equipment. With everything in place and done, I walked through the gate but suddenly
BAM!
A transparent wall seemed to black me and forced me back.
Ah! Damn it, I forgot about this!
I opened my bag and took out the letter father once game me in the training center. I stand up and walked towards the gate guard whom I once met when I came here.
“Hey, we’ve met again”
The guard happily greeted me as soon as he saw me walking towards him.
“Yeah, hahaha thanks from before”
“No problem, ah right what are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’ve got lost again?”
“I’m not! Well, I need to do something in the forest so I want to pass through. Father wants me to show this to you”
“Father...?”
The guards took the letter and as soon as he read it he suddenly froze.
“Wa-wait your father is the instructor? The strongest swordsman in the kingdom, Master Draig Vilestone?”
Oh? Is father famous or something?
I nod.
“Um, is there something wrong?”
“N-nothing, of course, you can pass, please go on!”
I was bewildered by the guard’s behavior who took 180 degrees turn towards me. After a while, my whole body
glowed and a notification window showed up.
Due to special circumstances, the Four-week restriction was lifted.
Ignoring the guard’s stiff behavior, I pass through the gate without a hitch.
“Please be careful outside young master”
Eh?...young master? Oh well
“Thanks, I’ll be going now! See you later”
“Yes have nice day young master”
As I was walking outside the city I noticed something at my back. When I turned around I saw several players were looking at me with wide eyes as if they just saw a ghost. They too tried to pass but were pushed back by the invisible wall.
Because of my heightened senses I overheard what they were talking about.
“Hey is that a player?”
“Maybe an NPC? If not how can he go outside?”
“No he’s an NPC look at what he’s wearing; I’ve never seen those kinds of clothes before”
Ah now that they mention it, I just now realized that I was not wearing the starting gear but something else. A black colored shirt with white linings and black pants. These were the clothes mom gave me before I left.

Answering them feels troublesome so I decided to ignore them and continue walking towards the forest.
As I walked I didn’t forget to be cautious and vigilant. I don’t want to get killed just because I got careless and being the first person to die inside the game world would be so lame.
I don’t want to see a notification saying ‘First Blood!’ in my death.
Hm? ……what’s that?
As I was thinking while walking I saw something ahead of me. It looked like a big gelatin with two small holes.
However it didn’t have a fixed appearance as it looks like it was melting. Although it was moving…
Moving?
Wait, co-could it be….that famous monster I’ve always heard about in various games like RPG?
A, a, a
“A slime!”
I noticed that my voice was somewhat filled with excitement.
Can, can I ask for an autograph from it?
My mind was filled with various emotions that I ended up thinking something very ridiculous.
I'm really excited about experiencing new things inside this game!!
Then suddenly the slime charged towards me, maybe it was startled by my voice.
“Wait, I’m a pacifist! I don’t like fighting so let’s be friends okay? Ah no, give me your sign instead!”
The slime ignored my desperate pleas and jumped towards me. Without a choice I jumped off to the side to avoid it.
“Really now, you might be famous but don’t you think attacking someone while talking is a bit rude?”
I draw my short iron sword from the sheath and focused my gaze at the slime.
Acid Slime Level 1(Normal)
The acid slime was so slow but I don’t really want something like that to come near me. Although it was a very famous monster, that gooey stuff is still gross and what’s gross is gross.
The moment the acid slime jumped up again, I sidestep and swung my sword downward making a blue arc on its path. There was no resistance and the slime was cut into half but it was still alive and the two parts was still moving.
In short, it was very disgusting.
I focused my view at the acid slime health points and noticed that it decreased a little, the slime’s decreased by 2% points.

Too low! What the hell, only 2%? Ah right, according to the books I read before slime is resistant against physical attacks but weak against fire attacks.
But I don’t have fire attacks! I’m not a freaking mage!
First battle yet already in a pinch?
The two parts joined and became one and it started charging towards me again. Gritting my teeth I anticipated its actions and swung my sword downwards. I expected it to end just like what happened a while ago but this time I felt my sword cut something hard.
CRITICAL HIT!
Eh? What!?
As I look at the acid slime it wriggled on the spot. The bar faltered a little and then went down to zero. A strange sound as if something likes glass just broke resounded.
I made a fist with my left hand and grip the short sword in my right hand. I don’t know what happen but I won!
Hahaha awesome!
In the spot where the slime disappeared two item and 2 copper coins were there. I collected the copper coins and then look at the items dropped by the slime.
One is like a baseball which is cut in half and the other was a pair of fingerless black gloves.
"Appraise"
Acid Slime’s Core
Used for alchemy.
I speculated that maybe this was the thing I hit that’s why the slime died instantly although it is resistant in physical attacks. In short I just got lucky, hahaha

A very good item! Hahaha God—I mean Goddess has been very good to me. Hahaha
I equip the gloves in my right hand and called out my status

After that I met 1 Acid slime and two mud slime before I arrived at my destination; the Haven's Forest. Because I already know how to deal with them I easily defeated them without so much trouble, although after I’ve killed the second slime, I’ve leveled up and was now a level two. Unfortunately, beside the first slime I’ve encountered and defeated, the other slimes didn’t drop good items except for 3 cores and 6 copper coins.
I wonder why?
Stepping on the fallen dried leaves, I finally entered the forest.
Dungeon: You are the very first player to enter the Haven’s Forest
Reward: Fame +100
Every day for one week, double EXP and double item drops. The rarest items will drop from the first monster of each type. Subsequent kills will drop common items.
A notification window floated in front of me the instant I entered the forest.
I see, so this kind of forest is also considered as a dungeon?
Inside the forest, huge trees grow tightly together. The sunlight was decreased by more than half causing the forest to be fairly dark despite it still being daytime.
As expected of this place, as soon as I step inside all my senses skyrocketed. I gathered 100% of my enthusiasm, readied my sword and slowly walked deeper inside this spooky forest.
I will definitely finish this quest!
If you have a weak heart, then brothers and sisters I recommend not entering this forest because it will definitely give you a heart attack.
This forest is very scary beyond my wildest dreams. Various sounds like wolf howls resounded inside that almost made my heart jumped from fright. If not for this unique skill I’ve got, maybe I’ve already fled from this place with my tail between my legs.
It's only a figure of speech okay, not the literal meaning~
After walking a short distance, suddenly my sixth sense felt an eminent danger!
“Hisss…..”
A green colored snake flew towards me. With superhuman reflexes I managed to dodge at the last minute while brandishing my sword towards it.
Peng!
The green colored snake hissed loudly as it turned its body towards me while showing its enormous fangs. The snake was 1-2 meters long and its body was covered with lustrous green colored scales.
Baby Green Viper LVL 10 (Unique)
What!? Level 10? Seriously, that’s just too much you know! And what the hell do you mean by ? I just got here you know! How unlucky can I get if I already encountered a unique monster!?
Didn’t I have 55 Luck?
Oh my goddess, please save this poor soul...!!!

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.
