《Arrogance is justice!?》Chapter 16- The basics weren't that arrogant.

Author note: Almost christmas! I do most my writing at work though so that doesn't mean more chapters but less T-T I'll try writing at home, but for some reason it feels uncomfortable. Didn't get to Sun Jiao's first fight this chapter as it's a bit short for a chapter(1400 words is short? Too arrogant!) and so I saved it for next chapter.

As Sun Jiao looked in Xu Rong's eyes he saw that besides the growing tears there was something else that appeared in those previously dull eyes; hope.
"Good I see that you understand. Sun Qing."
Hearing her name startled her enough to send a shocking yellow through her hair. She had been lost in her thoughts and had been dreaming about how amazing the future was going to be.
"Ah! Yes brother?"
"While I'm training I want you to help Xu Rong get stronger. She won’t be of any use if she's weak."
Seeing Sun Qing's confused look Sun Jiao followed up with a pat on Xu Rong's head. "Ro-ro."
"Yes brother! I have something I was going to test on that man before but I'll see if it works on her!"
A chill crawled down Sun Jiao's back as he imagined what his sister planned.
"No. I don't want you to make her stronger I want you to help her get stronger on her own. She's my dog so naturally she has potential to be the strongest dog! Anything you do will only be a temporary strength. Do you understand?"
"No, but I'll try! Should I find her something from the skill pavilion?"
"Good." Sun Jiao said with a nod.
"One more thing. Send that man from just now to my cultivation room and make sure he'll follow orders."

"Yes brother!"
With nothing more to say Sun Jiao gave a final pat on Sun Qing's head and then confidently entered the gate to his courtyard and began to stroll off.
Sun Jiao quickly changed directions and hurried his pace hoping the others hadn't noticed.
Sun Jiao listened and when he reached the bottom of the stairs he saw a sinister looking door with carved scenes of torture and evil beasts on it.
Sun Jiao opened the door by grabbing a handle that was carved to look like the guts of a woman spilling out in a arc so that the woman's top half was at the top of the handle and her legs at the bottom. Behind the arcing guts was a baby that was being chewed on by some kind of crocodile beast that had six legs.
Behind the door was a surprisingly well lit area with glowing stones set in the ceiling. On one side there were various torture devices covered in blood and on the other an open space. There was a recess in the back wall with a large cushion made for seating.
Following Xiaobo's orders Sun Jiao went over and began touching the different devices. Each time he touched one it disappeared. Sun Jiao was startled the first time, but the next couple of times he tried to observe what Xiaobo was doing and at the end he was able to sense them disappearing into the ring.
Sun Jiao stared at the ring for a while trying to figure it out.
With a sigh Sun Jiao closed his eyes and tried to remember the feeling he had when Xiaobo took control. The feeling of being inside his head returned, but this time he could also still feel his body and didn't feel as though he was trapped inside his mind.

Slowly he moved around his body and it felt as though he was traveling a great distance. He traveled around his body and eventually came to rest near his stomach. He could vaguely feel a sort of light coming from there that wasn't anywhere else in the body.
Sun Jiao tried to move his Will into the light, but instead just passed through it.
Listening to Xiaobo Sun Jiao ignored everything but his Will. Focusing only on that he approached the light, but rather than trying to merge with the light used it as a guide instead.
This time as his Will moved closer to the light he entered in what felt like an empty giant circular cave with a black ball of light floating in the center. Sun Jiao had trouble figuring out how the light was both black and lighting the area up, but eventually decided his idea of "light" was wrong. It wasn't visible light that you see with your eyes, but a light you sensed with your Will. Understanding how eyes and light worked had helped him come to this conclusion rather quickly and as he realized it he lost concentration so his attention snapped back into his body.
This time however he could sense the ki light inside him and a ki light standing just outside the door.
Xiaobo had been about to say months, but decided to trick the ignorant Sun Jiao in order to keep him from getting a big head. It had actually taken Xiaobo two days after discovering his dantian to figure out ki sense and he had considered that an incredible accomplishment.
The second lie came much quicker. In fact controlling Will and then entering the dantian are usually considered equally as hard as finding ki sense with finding the ki sense to be considered by some to be slightly harder. The last part was true though if Sun Jiao hadn't had experience being a soul he would have taken much longer on the first two steps.

While not my first time writing, this is my first time throwing anything I've written at the tender mercies of the internet. All criticisms welcome. 2.) Just to inform people early: There is no evil corporation looking to control the world with VR, there is no Krueger-esque "if you die in the game, you die for real.", and this isn't a story of some OP harem-loving god of the system. Nothing wrong with those stories this just isn't one. This is a simple story about a guy playing a game and finally 3.) This story is extremely rough, i did very little editing, this is just me gauging interest really. oh, and English is my 1st language, if for some reason you find that important. Note 2) from now on Book 1 will exist in its entirety on Royal Road while Books 2 and 3 (and any others) will be released on Amazon. I want to thank everyone who has been reading and has taken this weird journey with me. I will continue to write in my spare time and will always be thankful to Royal Road for giving me a space to be creative. Thank you to everyone.
