《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 68 - Lich King

Han Ling watched from the sky, the explosions of mana littering the already barren plains. “Looks like everything is going to plan…”
“I hope this goes well…” Han Ling smiled, then disappeared in a flash of purple.

BAAM! BOOM!
KABLAM!
BANG! CLANG!
A series of blows ushered from the centre of the battle, the three kings exchanging blows.
Sword met sword. Fists met swords. Every single strike contained an enormous amount of power, wildly bursting from their attacks.
Throughout the battlefield, the lords and their armies were locked in a fierce battle, different explosions of light scattered across the plains. Old Mage Halthea summoned a rain of meteors, aimed straight at the army of the Undead.
“Die you damn skeletons!”
WHOOSH!
Two figures flew into the air, Halthla scowled.
Death sword Alataus and Death Spear Tyron.
The rapier swished in the air, meteors sliced into little bits before being sliced into dust. Tyron swung his spear in a wide arc, an explosion sounded and dozens of meteors exploded into bits.
“Hmph! You’re gonna have to try harder, Old Mage.” Alataus snorted, his face impassive.
Halthla cackled, “Kekeke! You pile of bones, don’t act so mighty…” he snapped his finger, and the ground distorted, shaking and trembling violently. Then two gigantic fists of earth broke away from the ground.
“Earth’s Fist!” the two fists slammed straight towards the pair. Alataus leaped upwards, sword swishing like the wind. Tyron pulled his spear back, mana concentrated on the tip.
“Death Sword: Dark Million.”
“Death Spear: Lifeless Point.”
SHING!
BOOM!
Both fists exploded into rubble, Halthea widened his eyes, “Impossible!”
A streak of light and Tyron was right in front of the mage, his spear thrusting forward at the speed of sound. Halthea flinched, unable to do anything.
CLANG!
A spear coated in green parried the attack, and Halthla had a big grin on his face. “Good timing, youngest!” Destruction Spear, Halthea.
“Aura of Destruction.”
The spear tip flashed. Tyron raised his spear, blocking the attack just perfectly.
The two spearman glared.
“I heard your spear could destroy nations. It seems its true.” The part where Halthea hit was smoking, slightly dented despite having a spear made of the strongest known metal, Ultranium.
Halthea stuck the spear in the ground, “And I heard of the spear that reaped the lives of countless, the spear of death. I hope you do not disappoint.”
He took a stance, then frowned.

The sky had darkened all of a sudden.
Both spearmen looked up, and their eyes trembled.
It wasn’t just them, every single monster looked up, shock, confusion and fear written on their faces. Even the Goblin King and Beast King were shocked.
Lich King just stared, his gaze turning a shade colder.
Why were they all staring?
Because a giant mountain was falling down on the Plains of History.
To be exact…
One of the ‘old monsters’ of the Monster Realm.
Mountain Shaper, Behemoth… was falling on the Plains of History…
“RAWHHHHH!!!”
The cry of the behemoth shocked every monster out of their surprise. Lich King was the first to act.
He stopped halfway, sword raised as a katana scythed down on his head.
But there was no sound of a clash, a soundless attack.
Purple chains suddenly formed around his heart, locking his skills. The man who attack him smiled, His black wings arced with purple lightning.
“You’re coming with me, Liam Liche.”
Lich King’s pupils widened.
But he could say nothing as he disappeared into purple light.
Gobga and Tomba noticed the disappearance of the Lich King, but could do nothing as burst of feathers appeared next to Gobga. A Tengu with a red mask.
“Sojobo?!”
“Nice to meet you, fellow kings.” Sojobo grabbed Tomba and disappeared. At the same time, Zenkibo appeared behind Gobga, grabbing his shoulder and disappearing in an instant.
The lords and dukes couldn’t believe it, the disappearance of their kings was like a death sentence. But the much ‘bigger’ death sentence slammed into the Plains of History. Obliterating the place and every monster with it…
>>>
A purple light appeared in a forest, revealing the Lich King and Han Ling.
“Somewhere your powers can’t reach.”
Then the Lich King realized…
An extremely uncomfortable light coated his body, in an instant, his armour felt 10 times heavier, his eyes flickered in and out of existence.
Behind Han Ling was a dozen priests from the Holy Empire, even the Pope himself stood in front. “I assume this is the Lich King?” The Pope didn’t have his usual carefree smile, his face was a look of black disgust. “What a foul aura.”
Siegfried the Holy Crusader stepped forward, drawing a white gold great sword that emitted a grand holiness. “I shall handle this foul being.” Han Ling shook his head, “I’m afraid he’s too powerful for you, Holy Crusader.”
Siegfried’s brows quivered at that comment, his expression darkening. “Nonsense.”

RUMBLE!
A pillar of undead aura burst from the Lich King, all the holy power in the Cathedral trembled, dealing with a powerful this unprecedented took a toll on the Holy Cathedral.
A great wave of death embroiled towards the group of Priests. “Hmph!” The Pope slammed his Ferula on the ground, a gold barrier defended against the wave of death.
Siegfried defended with a slash of his own, a flash of light and the wave of mana disintegrated. Han Ling burst forward, a black and red sword appearing in both hands.
Obsidian Light struck, splitting the wave of death in a single strike. The Lich King widened his eyes, then realizing the human was right in front of him.
[Void Flash]
CLANG! BLOCKED!
And that was the Lich King’s mistake…
the purple chains formed around his chest, locking all his skills in an instant. “Got you!”
[Void Spark Aura – Dual Blade]
Giant flames exploded around the swords, much larger than before.
[Void Spark Sword: 1st Spark. Ignition Wheel.]
[Void Spark Sword: 4th Spark. Mountain Splitting Blade.]
Two different moves on two different swords.
A wheel of flame slammed into the Lich King, before a line appeared on his chest, black blood sprouting in the air.
Han Ling didn’t even let him say anything.
[True Blood Forms: First Form. Red Flower.]
66 blood sabres appeared in the air, all aimed at the Lich King. “Strike, Blood Sabres.”
All sabres stabbed into the Lich King.
Right at that moment, Han Ling leapt back and snapped his fingers.
[Blood Flash]
The Lich King was bathed in blood, red blood exploded from his body, dyeing the floor a deep crimson.
Han Ling flitted back like an agile cat, eyeing the Lich King with wary but determined eyes. The pope and Siegfried had their eyes wide open, in an instant, the young man disabled the Lich King, even dealing nearly a quarter of Lich King’s health in just a few seconds. “He definitely deserves Narukami’s praise.” Narukami had mentioned of Han Ling in his letter, saying he’s the reason for Jiron’s recent successes.
“What an interesting young man…” The Pope smiled, then his face turned serious. “Now! While the Lich King is staggered, supress him!” The priests chanted in their holy hymns, showers of gold mana coated the Lich King’s battered body.
Han Ling activated Kuebiko’s Eye, seeing the flow of death mana rising.
He burst forward, this time hitting the Lich King with a new skill, Deafening Silence.
Han Ling held his sword to his waist, initiating a draw slash stance, the sword moved without a sound slashing upwards from the waist. He widened his eyes, unable to see the slash until it was already embedded in the Lich King’s body.
Han Ling closed in, slashing again and again, whittling the Lich King’s health with every strike. It didn’t take long for the Pope and Siegfried to catch on to his timing, sending bolts of light and sword beams at the Lich.
“I serve no god.” Han Ling slashed upwards, a sword ray that reached the ceiling slammed into the Lich King, nearly flattening him in the process.
“You however, I would never understand why a holy man like you would fall into the lies of the demon king.”
“Forget what I know,” A pillar of mana exploded from Han Ling, dyeing the entire church in purple, “What you have done to other to get this far… that is unforgivable.”
The Lich King, once the pope of a church dedicated to the Goddess of Life, Nirvana. This was a time when the Monster Realm was a world of peaceful humans. He was loved by many, the almighty pope of a Holy Nation, Liam Liche. But with great power, comes great greed for more, Liam Liche fell into the palms of the God of Death. He promised Liam unimaginable power, and he took it.
He sacrificed thousands of people, no matter the age or gender. He incurred the wrath of gods and unleashed the devastation upon this land. Goblins, beasts, monsters of all kind spilled into the world, the once peaceful world stood no chance. But Liam survived, and exchanged his name, his existence for immortality.
That’s how ‘Lich King’ came to be…
So, if he hears his name, he remembers.
And when he remembers… He exists.
The darkness exploded from his body, his eyes flickered in and out of existence, his powers, his immortality, leaving his body.
“Heh, you were the strongest of the three kings, but you were also the easiest.”
Han Ling raised his blade, and simply slashed downwards.
[Tranquil Silence]
[Target has less than 10% health]
[Target is killed]
The Lich King exploded.
[You have slain The Lich King, Liam Liche]

Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

Death By Protagonist
Donavan has made his living by wading through hundreds of stories in search of the quality few he and his firm believe to be worth publishing. After a strange twist of fate, he gets trapped inside the fantasy book of a particularly campy and amateur author. There he will have to navigate a world built on wish fulfillment, power fantasies, and fanservice in order to fix the story from the inside out if he ever wishes to leave. But can he bring himself to play the many roles necessary to manipulate and guide the characters to a satisfying conclusion? Authors Note: Death By Protagonist is meant to be simultaneously a satire of, and love letter to the isekai/portal fantasy genre. It both makes fun of and embraces many tropes of the genre such as harems, explicit sexual content, OP protagonists, and other things many people might think of as "trashy." If that doesn't sound like your thing, you've been warned, but I hope you'll give it a shot anyway. Update Schedule: Plan is to at least put out one new chapter every week, hopefully two.
