《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 67 - Three Kings

The Plains of History.
They were just an ordinary green pasture, but after decades of battles, the history of the three empires were carved out.
From the beginning of the monster realm, the goblins, the beasts, and the Undead were always the top ranks of the realm. Every single war the three empires had, was over that single plain.
Hence, Plains of History.
From a birds eye view, three armies are seen, the green skinned goblins armoured in white steel. Halberds on the right and short swords on the left waist. The Goblin Elites, the 30,000 best soldiers of the Goblin Empire, kitted with the weapons for royalty. Standing in front of the 30,000 goblin knights are the three Goblin Lords. They were actually brothers, raised by the previous Goblin King to serve the future Goblin Empire.
Goblin Lord Halthagar, Hammer Lord. The second and tallest brother, standing at almost 5 meters in height, his face brutish and ugly, but savage would be a better word. On his shoulder was a hammer half his size, even then he lifted it as easy as lifting a baby.
On his right, Goblin Lord Halthla, Old Mage. The Eldest brother, ever since young, his prowess in magic far surpassed many mages. The smallest of the three, with small piggy eyes, and a slightly hunched back due to age. A terrible grin on his face, an orb of darkness flitting above his palm.
Further on the right, Goblin Lord Halthea, Destruction Spear. The youngest and most skilled of the three. Despite being so young, he defeated countless experts in the art of the spear, laying waste to lands with his famed spear. He was the leanest of the three, a spear tinged with green light in his left palm, flaring green flames at the tip.

And leading all the goblins…
Goblin King, Gobga, much different from the other goblins, his face wasn’t ugly, nor was it handsome, but it was cold, calm and heavy all in one. Green mana oozed off his body, rising in the air like steam. Both hands were in front of him, pressed down on the hilt of a great single edged greatsword, made of blood the bones of the enemies of the empire.
To the left of the green goblins was the furred beastmen of all species, there were wolves, tigers, lions, jackals, bears and countless others. All donned in armour that fitted the colour of their fur, a mixture of weapons all around. In the back, were a platoon of giant elephant beastmen, towering over Beast army. At the front, led the 9 Beast Lords, each of a different species and of a different tribe.
Leading at the front was the Beast King, Tomba. A tall man with the body of a lion, but the face of a tiger. To create the ultimate beastman, the previous beast king had a son with a tiger, created the ultimate beast.
Then to the right of the goblins, was white bones on black soil. Skeletons numbering in the thousands lined up perfectly, armoured in black, spears in one hand, short sword in the other. Eyeless sockets cold and glowing black.
Leading them was the Death Sword Alataus and the Death Duke Iaren, beside them were the other Dukes along with the ‘Spear’ of the Undead Empire. Death Spear, Tyron. A knight donned in black, a spear that seemed to suck light in his palm.
Leading the Undead…
Lich King.
Just Lich King, nothing less, nothing more.
Nobody knows his name, even Tyron and Alataus, his closest aids had no clue. He would never speak of himself, always the benefit for the empire.

It was said that the Lich King had traded himself for immortality, ever since the beginning, he was always there, unknown, undying, hooded and powerful.
All three armies could feel the tension, could see the sweat beads on their foreheads, could hear the quickening pulses of their hearts.
Gobga spoke, a calm expression was on his face, but his eyes were glimmering with a furious flame. “Pay for the death of my brother!”
“Halthea!”
The grinning old mage cackled, snapping his finger, that one snap resounded across the entire plain.
RUMBLE!
Iaren looked up, and he trembled.
RUMBLEEEEE!!!
The sky was orange, the clouds parted, revealing a rain of flaming meteors.
The lich king’s voice sounded and he raised a boned hand.
A little black orb formed on his palm, growing larger and larger, till the entire thing covered the Undead Army.
The meteors exploded on the barrier, but never getting through.
Then a green crescent of light sliced through the ground, breaking the dirt and tearing through the ground. Lich King raised his other hand.
A black pulse of darkness dismembered the pillar of green light.
But behind that green light revealed Gobga, his sword raised high, a look of anger etched on his face. “For Zafar!”
The great sword fell.
BOOM!
A clash of swords, Gobga frowned, his expression turning even uglier. In the Lich King’s hand, was a silver double-edged sword, skull imprinted on the handle.
Cold, blue eyes appeared under the dark hood, shadows enshrouded the lich king, forming solid pieces of armour, the last part forming around his hood, a helmet with spikes on the top, a T shaped slit for sight, running down to where the mouth should be.
Lich King spun on his heels, the sword arcing towards the Goblin king’s neck. Gobga was calm, parrying the strike before attempting a strike. Swords clanged, slash for slash, blow for blow.
Until a surge of mana formed a giant fist, and slammed into the pair.
Lich King grunted, Gobga growled, the force of the fist felt like being hit by a mountain.
Beast King Tomba walked up to the pair, his fist glowing a deep red, “I hope you’re not forgetting me?” A grin on his face, he launched a barrage of fist strikes that exploded the air.
Gobga raised the flat side of his sword, feeling the punches rumbled against the blade.
Lich King snorted, stomping hard, a wave of ice blocked the barrage of fists.
Black mana burst out his blade, slicing through the air like butter, bringing it up to his shoulder, ready to slash.
“Goblin King Aura.”
“Earth Splitting Kill.”
Gobga raised his greatsword, viscous green mana coating the blade.
Then Tomba joined the party, a mad grin on his face.
“Beast Blood Enhancement.”
“Fist of the King.”
RUMBLE!!!
KABOOOMMM!!!!

The Great Erectus and Faun
The Great Erectus, otherwise known as "The Big Guy" is NOT a god. Don't call him that. It will tick him off. He and his newfound apprentice/sidekick the definitely not a creation goddess Faun have a little problem. The Big Guy's universe is blowing up. Faun might have had something to do with that. (She feels awful about it BTW) They must rush about the unraveling universe saving (or judging) worlds as the end of all things is bearing down upon them at the speed of light, so they have a bit of time but really can't mess about. Along the way they will encounter Lovecraftian horrors, divine ex-girlfriends, surly AI's and a host of other hassles. Enjoy such delights as the complete destruction of the universe, a children's "Christmas pageant" except where "the greatest story ever told" involves an eldritch horror from another universe, and an innocent misunderstanding concerning the exact definition of a "red dwarf". Existential dread! Lovecraftian comedy! It's as much madness as can be shoved into a single work and still remotely make sense! If you enjoy completely off the hook lunacy, this one is for you!

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
