《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 62 - Time to Train

Han Ling blinked into Port Gallo, immediately flying towards the ocean.
“I should be able to breath in water…” Han Ling plunged into the sea, “Wow, my body feels so light, it’s so much lighter than air.”
“Let’s test out some moves.”
Ocean Pearl Blade appeared in his hand and Han Ling swung it, feeling the blade cut through water like cutting through air. The sword glowed blue and a crescent beam of sword energy slashed into the sea, dissipating after a while.
“Wow, this is great!” Han Ling couldn’t be happier with the strength of the blade, “Now I need to test something else.”
Han Ling raised the sword, purple flames exploding around the blade, lightning slammed down from the sky, entering the blade.
[Void Spark Aura]
“The Void Spark Aura works even on weapons that aren’t void… Well that’s convenient.”
Han Ling gripped the sword, slashing down vehemently.
“Ocean Splitter!”
The sword stopped, the flames disappearing. “Hmm? Nothing happened?”
RUMBLE
“Eh?” Han Ling’s mouth dropped.
The sea…
Was cut in half…
>>>
“What’s going on!?” King Altos and all their warships from Port Gallo arrived at the destination, or perhaps, where the giant cut was in the sea. A large line was drawn across the sea, sea water flowing down into the line, like a waterfall in the sea.
“What in the world happened here?” King Altos was visibly shaken, his knuckles white from gripping his sword.
“Something’s coming!” The soldiers readied their weapons, looking up at something falling from the sky. Altos squinted his eyes, recognizing that mana signature. And sure enough, Han Ling landed on the deck, his black wings furling back and disappearing in his shoulder. “It’s been a while, King Altos.”
“Ambassador? What are you doing here?” Han Ling scratched his head sheepishly and Altos turned to the cut in the ocean, then turning back to the man, “Ambassador… did you slice the ocean by any chance…” Han Ling bowed, “I apologize for the inconvenience, I was just testing a new sword.”

Altos’s face twitched…
“Testing a new sword?”
“Yes, I apologize for the inconvenience.” Then Han Ling disappeared in a purple light.
King Altos blinked, throwing his head back with a laugh, “HAHAHAHA! What a guy! HAHAHAH! To be able to cut an ocean in half! He’s much more powerful than before!”
The soldiers looked into the slash in the sea, seeing the water starting to fill the deep gash.
“What a monster…”
>>>
“Whew, I got out of there quick. Don’t wanna get annoyed by meaningless things.” Han Ling breathed out a sigh of relief, “But what am I going to do now? I have time to spare…”
“Master.”
“Oh? Kakashi, is there something you need?” Han Ling spoke in his mind, a sense of surprise in his thoughts.
“I have a gift for master.”
All of a sudden, a 10 meter tall scarecrow appeared in front of Han Ling, causing him to flinch slightly at the ominous mana surrounding the straw body.
A straw arm reached forward and on the hand was a white sword, the exact same one that Duke Drazen used. “I believe this would be useful to the master.”
Han Ling took the sword and used Kuebiko’s Eyes.

Han Ling widened his eyes, “I can fuse it?”
A grin formed on his face, “Don’t mind if I do.” He thanked Kakashi and the scarecrow bowed, suddenly disappearing.

“Fuse!”
The two white blades turned into light, those particles combining together.
Suddenly, blood red mana leaked from the light, the light coating the blade turning red like blood leaking into water.
The light dissipated.
A blood red blade, strange gold markings all over the blade and a handle created with smooth, cold metal.
Han Ling gripped the blade and gritted his teeth. He felt the sword prick his hand, taking his blood as nourishment. The blade glowed redder.
Han Ling widened his eyes, but quickly regained his sense. “Yes.”

[Discontinued] Armus : First Draft
THIS FICTION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. I don't recommend reading this, since the chapters are a bit haphazard (containing new edits which don't really fit in with the latter half of the story).

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/
