《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 45 - Port Gallo

After Han Ling received his reward from Amaterasu, the Kitsune and Komainu arrived in Storm Haven, setting up their camps just outside the city gates. The Earth mages made buildings for them to stay at the span of a few days, building a new part of the blooming city.
Narukami looked dead exhausted all the time, the extra training and dealing with delegations like these were taking a toll on his body. So, Nagisa arrived in Storm Haven, taking on his political roles. Stormval is now governed by the top noble families for the time being, until Narukami finishes with his training.
The others also started on their intensive training since the war was over and no significant plans were created on the Goblin side. With the alliance of the Tengu, Kitsune and Komainu, the Goblin Empire doesn’t dare attack Storm Haven.
So, Storm Haven would enjoy a period of peace for a while, still the war with the vampires were still ongoing, but they were hesitant after the death of Duke Alverez, one of the top combatants of their kingdom.
But despite peace, there was never rest. For a man who knew the future, and of the calamities it will bring, there is never rest…
Rest is for the dead…

Han Ling stared at the items on the bed, his mask off and armour hanging on the wall. “The Fearcrow could wait, since his path is towards Jiron, he’ll be tearing through the land of the Goblins, which would be a huge bonus. So, I can head back to Earth, and create an army.”
About a year from now, the second world invasion will occur, sending hundreds of millions of orcs into the world. Not a single civilization will be safe, they would pillage, raze, steal, destroy everything in their path. Han Ling recalled his fights against them vividly, much stronger than goblins and much large in numbers. The only way to prevent this was to set up a navy strong enough to keep them on land.
Han Ling felt a budding headache grow in his head, “Still so much to do, at least now I have Wings of the Void to travel to wherever I want.” He shoved all the items in his inventory, heading down to the shops to sell whatever he didn’t need, and gave all his spare weapons to the Jiron Armory for future use.

He met with Narukami before he left, to which the King of Jiron was half asleep but he got most of the info. Han Ling gave him an information orb, where two parties are able to communicate through words that appear in the orb. Think of it as a futuristic WhatsApp, where the words appear above the orb. Narukami also gave him a white medallion with a blue lightning symbol etched at the centre. He explained that the world will know that you’re an official from Jiron.
Once that was done, Han Ling stood on one of the stone buildings, and leaped off, black wings sprouting from his back. The wings furled forward and a powerful gust shot him forward at the speed of a bullet, yet he flapped his wings even harder, disappearing with the sound of a rip and thunderclap.
A freezing coldness gripped him for a microsecond and disappearing in the heat of Earth. “As I thought, the rift is able to travel to different dimensions. This would be useful extremely useful.”
He found himself above the city of Japan, floating slightly above the multiple skyscrapers. “Hmm… I don’t think I have anything to do in Japan. I’ll return when I need to.” With another thunderclap, he flew straight into a fissure, the purple crack disappearing behind him.
Han Ling opened his eyes to the new environment, satisfied at his location. “This wormhole skill is broken… it doesn’t even have a cooldown, the only requirement is speed, and I’m still not sure if I can bring anyone…” he felt a grin blooming on his face at that thought. He soared down, seeing a magnificent port on the beaches of a city. “Port Gallo, it has been a while since I’ve seen this place.”
Despite the place changing drastically after the war of the orcs, it was still considerably large, with dozens of warships in its docks and well-trained navy guarding them. Port Gallo was the capital of the Wave Kingdom, they are the dominators of the sea, and underwent the largest growth at the beginning of the orc war.
But even then it wasn’t enough, because of underlying issues, the Wave Kingdom was betrayed, and razed to the ground, millions were killed, and hundreds of thousands were captured, used for breeding tools to increase their population. It was a tragedy and a low strike, that would send the war into a whole new level.

To even stand a chance against those brutes, he had to prepare a much larger army than what Port Gallo had currently. In a way he would be helping a competitor of Jiron, but with Jiron’s immense growth from the Goblin portal, they will soon become a powerful force on Earth.
But that’s only in the realm of monsters, the orc invasion would swarm the world, and Jiron would have to pull their forces back. Well, not all of them since the orcs will also invade the realm of monsters.
But back to the topic at hand, “Where should I go first?” He flew around the port a few times before finally landing at the outskirts, pulling his wings back before entering. “Halt! We need to see some identification! If this is your first time, please form a line in front of me.” A guard with blue scaled armour announced to the group of people outside the gates.
Han Ling walked up to the guard, bringing up his adventurer id, which was still D-rank since he never participated in any adventures.
The guard widened his eyes slightly at the man’s rank, “Good sir, you are allowed into Port Gallo, please enter.” Despite being a Kingdom, Wave only has a handful of cities, and not a single one of them had a population more than 100 thousand. Port Gallo only has a handful of powerful adventurers, currently the highest-ranking adventurer known is C rank, but of course, if Han Ling really wants to, he could be B rank without much hassle.
Then again there are only a few D-rank adventurers in the city, so its understandable that others would respect him. “Thank you.” Han Ling walked past the gates, earning a few suspicious glances from the other merchants and adventurers.
He took a deep breath, the salt of the sea on his tongue, the sound of the waves in his ear. Han Ling let out a relaxed sigh, feeling the tension leave his body. He then made his way towards the centre of the capital, glancing at the castle on the top.
Little did he know, despite his concealment, someone sensed him far inside the castle on the hill.
A strong, healthy middle-aged man sat on the throne, suddenly lurching upright, startling all the ministers around him. “Is there something wrong, my king?”
The man stood up abruptly from the throne, making his way to the window, scanning the grounds, “Did none of you feel that?” he said as he scanned the faces of the people below him as much as he could.
“I-I felt an enormous amount of mana for a second, its nothing.” The ministers glanced at one another before resuming their talks on the dwindling economy. The man sat back on the throne, his fingers laced together as his mind raced, “What was that enormous surge of power? That wasn’t normal…”
His mind raced, the calls for his decision went in one ear and out the other. “My King?”
“King Altos?” The king turned to stare at the minister, causing him to break out in cold sweat, “What is it?”
The minister unconsciously gulped, “W-We were just mentioning about the pirate attacks recently, we are asking for permission to increase the number of warships to combat them.”
The king waved his hand to show his acknowledgement, “Make sure you sink those damn pirates, our goods are dwindling because of them.” He stood up, “I don’t feel well, continue without me.” One of the maids came to help Altos, but he simply put up his hand, causing her to freeze and step back.
“I can get back myself.” The ministers stared at the back of the king, feeling mixed feelings of his sudden departure. “Is the King alright? It seems like he saw a ghost.” “He said something about an enormous mana surge, our king is the strongest person in the nation, and no one could come close to facing him, it he finds an immense mana in the country, its no wonder he’ll panic.” One of the old ministers explained.
“What kind of monster would that be…” The minister gulped.
