《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 26 - The Meeting of Worlds

Kazuto Kirigami stepped out the plane, with Atsushi, Karin, Shiki and Kinuko right behind him. Japan decided to send Sakura Guards as Japan’s representative. But when they arrived, they could not help themselves from gaping at the city in front of them.
The say the least, the city was magnificent. The Holy Capital Xerin was a city in the shape of a circle. The outer layer were green fields, full of crops and all sorts of fruits, spices and herbs. Even some white wooden huts near the fields, indicating the home of farmers. Moving inwards to the second ring, houses were made of white concrete and gold wood, making the street as grand as possible.
The people there wore plain casual clothes, with the exception of a few nobles with grand clothes walking down the streets. But the biggest attraction was the gigantic church right in the centre of the city.
The entire building was at least as large as a football field, but the height was incredible as well, around 10 floors tall, with large gleaming pillars supporting the roof. The entrance was clean, not a speck of dust could be seen.
Kazuto gulped at the grandeur of such a church, definitely putting all Earth churches to shame. Then a surprised voice sounded on his right. “Ah! It is an honour to meet the guild master of the Sakura Guards!”
Kazuto turned to the voice and a big grin formed on his face, “It’s also an honour to meet the guild master of Humble Sage, Mr Qian Xun.” Qian Xun walked up to Kazuto with Xue Er and a handsome young man following behind him.
The two guild leaders shook hands with Qian Xun speaking first, “Thank you for assisting China in the B-rank gate subjugations, because of Blood Mask we managed to prevent any outbreaks, keeping the people safe.” Kazuto gave a small smile, “I can’t take any credit for what that man does, last I heard he disappeared off a coast on the East.”

Qian Xun raised an eyebrow, “I heard an Itonian country connected to Japan and its king will be participating in the meeting as well.” Kazuto sighed, “Nobody can control that man, I just hope he doesn’t run into trouble.”
“Are you perhaps referring to Jiron, fellow humans?”
The two guild leaders turned to the source of the voice, a handsome young man no older than 25 walked towards the pair. Long black hair tied into a ponytail, a slim but sturdy looking body, and a handsome face that would make hearts flutter. Dressed in a casual black robe he bowed slightly to the guild leaders. “Greetings fellow humans, I am the current king of Jiron, Lighting Emperor, Narukami.”
At first the pair were sceptical, a young man like him doesn’t seem like a king, there’s no royally presence in front of them, and he didn’t dress like one. But just in case, the pair introduced themselves.
“I am Kazuto Kirigami, guild leader of Sakura Guards, represent the nation of Japan.”
“I am Qian Xun, guild leader of Humble Sage, representing the nation China.”
“I heard something about my kingdom, is there something I can help?” Kazuto smiled amiably, “No, no, its nothing to concern the king about.” Narukami returned a smile before the pair spoke of pleasantries and introductions.
Lighting Emperor was interested in planes and wish to purchase some in return for sovereigns. And was interested in navy ships as well, and both sides went in-depth in their calculation.
Until Narukami asked a strange question, “Who’s the strongest player that you know of?” Kazuto froze for a second, wondering why the Lighting Emperor would ask a question like that. Kazuto turned to Atsushi for an answer, Atsushi nodded then stepped forward, “My name is Atsushi, player name, Boulder. Officially, the strongest person in Japan is me.”

Narukami sized the brawler up, looking up and down, even reaching forward to squeeze his muscles a little. “Hmm, not bad. But what did you mean by officially?” Atsushi sighed, “There is a man who earned the nickname Blood Mask, he is who I believe to be the strongest. Not strongest in Japan but strongest on Earth…”
Narukami widened his eyes slightly at that phrase, “Interesting… what level are you Mr Boulder?” “Level 28.” The Lighting Emperor nodded his head and mumbled, “Not bad…” He then turned to Qian Xun, “How about you?”
“Xue Er here is the highest levelled player in China, at a level of 27. But the strongest person we know is definitely Blood Mask.” Qian Xun helplessly explained. A grin formed on Narukami’s face, “Now I really want to meet this Blood Mask.” He turned to the two guild leaders, “You say he’s in Jiron now isn’t he?”
Kazuto shook his head, “We’re not sure, sir.”
“No matter. If he’s in Jiron, I shall find him.” A grin formed on his face, and a powerful pressure squeezed the hearts of everyone there. Atsushi widened his eyes in disbelief, he’s so powerful!
DONG!
The bell at the top of the church sounded, reverberating all over the city, and strangely it contained mana. Atsushi and his party couldn’t help the relaxation that followed the peel, quelling the pressure.
“Looks like its time for us to enter.”

“Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to Xerin! Hopefully it is as hospitable as it looks, I find the white a little too bright but as pope I can’t say that now can I. Hahahaha!” A healthy-looking old man guffawed as dozens of people entered the hall. A grand white hall, with gold markings carved randomly at every wall, but gave the wall a strange divinity.
Kazuto recognized many different countries, there was the recently famous French player who named himself It’s Croissant not Crossant. It was a very strange name, but Atsushi won’t judge.
The strangest thing was the old man, Kazuto had been to some churches and met a couple of religious men, but none of them was as carefree as the old man in front of him.
“Your holiness! Please control yourself!” An even older man at a rough estimate of 70 rebuked the pope. The younger elder flinched a little before sheepishly grinning at the puzzled guests. “Please sit down, revered guests. Earthlings on the left side and Itonians on the right.
Kazuto sat at his seat, with Qian Xun next to him and an unknown player on his other side. But the person facing him slightly startled him. Pointy ears, silky blonde hair, pale skin, emerald green eyes. A beautiful, elegant, regal elf. She noticed Kazuto’s reaction and smiled gently, making even the Steel Giant’s heart melt.
The pope then clapped for attention, earning the stares of everyone in the room. “It is my honour to host the first peaceful meeting between two worlds, and I’ll give every country, kingdom and empire to introduce themselves. And then we’ll move on to the rules that every country should respect. Is that alright?”
And the first meeting of worlds started…

Humanity Extinguished
I had the same nightmare again. The loss of my first life continues to haunt me, but now it aches like an old wound. A more grievous injury to my psyche was the losses yet to come and the inevitable hellscape I would return to again and again. Reincarnation is my curse. The lives themselves weren't all that bad. Losing people you cared about hurt and all, but even that pain was preferable to experiencing the nothingness between lives for months at a time. It was enough to drive anyone mad. Now I have to focus on breaking this horrible cycle. Thankfully I have all the time in the world. Trace is an average man driven by extraordinary circumstances in an indifferent and cruel world. His reincarnations give him a few key advantages but also take a heavy toll on him. He lives in a world where magic is uncommon and underpowered compared to the limitless physical adaptations you can acquire by getting your hands a little bloody. This story is one of hardship and terrible lows, but also monumental achievements and grand heights. The main character has flaws. While some of these flaws will fade with time, others will worsen. Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis. I plan to release 2-3 chapters a week. Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
