《From Max to Zero to God》Chapter 20 - Punishment

Hunting Dog’s captain raised his head over the bush, scanning the area carefully before stepping out. He made a couple of hand signs and the other three members stepped out. An assassin, a swordsman, a mage, and a spearman.
The swordsman turned to the group, “Ok, now is the best time to kill him, just attack when he’s in trouble and we’ll take all his items for the boss.”
The mage frowned a little and asked, “Are we sure? Did you not see him kill a group of level 25 beasts in one strike? We’ll be dead before we even know it!” The swordsman then sneered, “It has to a very powerful skill with a very long cooldown. The idiot actually entered a den, its perfect for us to attack.”
And that sword as well… It’s a sword I must have! The swordsman laughed inwardly, greed filling his mind. The swordsman entered first with the mage right next to him. With a silent cast, a ball of light appeared on the mage’s hand and light spread out all over the cave.
The group of 4 ventured deeper into the cave, piles of corpses littered the ground. At each step, their confidence wavered, corpses of higher levelled wolves strewn across the cave floors, still and cold.
“How did that bastard manage to kill so many wolves?” The spearman showed an ugly expression as fear and regret welled up in his mind. “We shouldn’t do this! He’s too much of a monster!”
“Well, that’s rude.”
All 4 Hunting Dog’s members turned to the voice, finding Blood Mask standing there with blood dripping all over him. A pitch-black sword in his right hand and a white sabre with a ruby in the centre of the guard in his left.

Han Ling’s purple eyes met the group’s, “What are you doing here?” With that question, an enormous amount of aura spread out the swordsman, forcing the group to take a step back at the pressure.
The swordsman gazed greedily at the swords in Han Ling’s hands but calmed himself down. “We were going to hunt for ice wolves, sir. We didn’t expect to run into you in this cave.”
Blood Mask silently regarded the team, “Didn’t I tell you to wait for the Ice bear?” a heavy pressure pressed against the team, the mage couldn’t help but kneel down with sweat dripping down his cheek. “Or… perhaps you’re looking to kill me and steal my loot.”
The Berserker growled before shouting at the top of his lungs, “KILL HIM!” The spearman stepped towards Han Ling, his spear thrusting forward at quick speeds. But Han Ling easily tilted his head to the side, and his right hand blurred.

A red line appeared diagonally across the spearman’s chest and blood gushed out like a fountain. The spearman let loose a blood curdling scream, as he gripped the wound and fell on the ground, screaming like a slaughtered pig. But Han Ling didn’t care about the screaming man, instead he stared at the sword in his hand. He widened his eyes, clearly impressed with the weapon.
So, that’s how Quick sword works. When I attack with Obsidian Hollow, time around me speeds up, and I attack at a much faster pace. The other swordsman stared at his injured team member with wide eyes. Fear slammed his mind, he couldn’t understand how someone could move so fast. He couldn’t even sense an intent to attack.
The swordsman roared out a battle cry, pouncing towards Blood Mask with his sword thrusting forwards. Han Ling easily slapped the sword away and was about to cut his head off when three energy orbs zoomed towards him.

ZING! ZING! ZING!
Han Ling slashed all three orbs apart, and raised his eyebrows slightly to see both the berserker and the swordsman attacking him at the same time. A large battle axe falling down and a sword slashing from the side. Han Ling grinned slightly before blocking both weapons with just a few moves of his sword.
The berserker and swordsman attacked with all they got, the swordsman thrust, the berserker slashes. Even then, Han Ling blocked everything with just a swing of his swords. His sword hand blurred and both of the Berserker’s arms fell to the ground, blood spouting from the wound.

But before the berserker could even scream, a red line ran down the middle of his body, splitting his body in two halves. The swordsman stared at his dead comrade, eyes wide with fear. That fear grasped him, and he left with as fast as his feet could take him. But a cold metal sprouted from his head, his mind blacked out instantly.
Han Ling pulled his sword out the swordsman’s head and turned to the mage that was tending the spearman with a health potion. The mage gulped as both his team mates died in front of him in a blink of an eye. His shaking hands spilled the health potion and the spearman also died from too much blood loss.
The mage hastily got up, slamming his head against the rocky ground, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! They forced me! I never wanted to—”
SHING
“Eh? Isn’t that my staff? Why is it in that person’s hand?” Those were the last thoughts the mage had as his headless body fell to the ground.
Han Ling sighed, “Hunting Dog’s will be the weakest of the 5 guilds for a while.” The swordsman and berserker were level 17, higher than Atsushi and Karin, however they overestimated themselves, and they met the worst opponent ever.
Han Ling himself…
