《Re: Corruption》Chapter 7: Auction

I’m kinda ill so yeah short chapter today :C
I will rework it when I’m better.
-----------------------------------------------
After just 2 days of my training Chiuco evolved.
LizardmanNameChiucoTitleCowardLevel7
He is now about as big as Gur, but overall slightly weaker. He grew strong, green colored scales and in general looks like a humanoid Lizard.
While training him I discovered that he had some rather useful abilities, so I made him use those dozens of time, while I watched.
Skill: Acid Spit (minor) learned
Skill: Poison Spit (minor) learned
Skill: Anesthetic Spit (minor) learned
Skill: Fire breath (minor) learned
Every of my new skills are rather useful, sadly I can’t put them to their full potential yet, as a ‘minor’ learned skill they had almost no effect.
I once accidently hit Gur’s arm with the acid spit, it didn’t even hurt him.
Still if I manage to hit an enemy’s eye or mouth with one of the spits it will probably inflict some damage.
Also I can now enjoy the meat which is brought to us grilled, thanks to fire breath.
Don’t misunderstand, I don’t like using fire breath. I don’t have any fire resistance so it almost burns my mouth every time I use it.
After spitting into the Phial which once contained a health potion until it was filled with poison, 3 men came near our cell.
They were dressed in leather armor and had short swords and shields equipped. Two of them looked like veteran warriors, with scars all over their face. The last one was probably not even 18 yet.
“You, the one called Tral, the King wants to see you fight now. You are allows to bring one companion with you, not more. You have half an hour time to get to choose.”
The King sure likes seeing me fighting. Well I guess if he wants to see me fighting I can’t refuse, hopefully he won’t have a monster like the Borees with him.

I choose Chiuco. Why you ask? He needs combat experience so that he will be useful. Also if the enemy is superior to us he is the one I care the least about.
When I confronted him with my decision he was shocked, he is probably still traumatized from seeing all his siblings die in the arena, but he can’t hide forever. I convinced him by reminding him of how he was almost equal to me and Gur, and that he now had a weapon. The firestone infused sword I gave him.
On our way to the arena we were escorted by the three men the King send. I could see the other cages better now, my sight improved since we fought the wolf, probably due to me leveling up. I’m level 54 now, halfway to evolving. My magic also ranked up, I could now control it better and faster, I’m eager to try it out.
All the cages were silent now, nothing reminding on that these monsters are all going to die here one day.
The door to the arena was open this time, no monster in sight we walked in.
Different to the other times I fought, there was no crowd watching us. Only about 25 people, all are looking rich and noble. Most of them were fat men.
A few of them had either human bodyguards or humanoid monsters with them. I saw Hobgoblins, several Imps, an Orc and even one Ogre. They all had collars around their neck from which I felt a strange energy.
The King sat on his usual spot, observing us quietly, and then a noble looking woman next to him started yelling.
“Our King found an interesting specimen. This Gremlin. He exceeds all expectations, managing to kill a Borees and even a Fang Wolf! He doesn’t want it to die pitiful in the arena, so anyone of you is obliged to buy him for your Ludus!” (Kings announcer)

(A Ludus is a gladiator ‘school’ thingy).
An auction. I’m being sold like cattle. Well seeing the lustful face of one of the noble women I don’t think it would be that bad. If you know what I mean.
“SHOW US!” screamed the fat man who was accompanied by the Ogre.
“Of course we made some preparations to show you this specimen’s power. Watch as he shows you his might!” (Kings announcer)
With a move of the Kings hand a doorway to the arena opened, behind it stood about 15 Goblins.
All of them were between level 15 and 30, except for one. A Hobgoblin whose level was 35.
They are my kind, but I won’t die for their sake. My life is worth more than theirs.
With these thoughts in mind I leaped directly to them, throwing a ball of dark magic at them in the process. I put a lot of power behind that one and as it exploded between the enemies lines it killed several Goblins and crippled some more.
Not wasting any time I immediately slit two other Goblins throats, only leaving 6 Goblins, including the Hobgoblin capable of fighting.
Then I leapt back to Chiucos side. He will end this fight, I believe that he is capable of it. If he can’t win a fight like this then I don’t have any uses for him in the future.
With great accuracy he spit poison into the eyes of two Goblins, rendering them incapable of ever seeing again, two more he swiftly finished with his new sword.
Then the only one who could be seen as a real enemy for him charged at him, the Hobgoblin.
Chiuco was stunned, I could see the fear in his eyes, his trauma is coming back.
Just moments before the Hobgoblin would have smashed the Lizards head in, I leaped in to kick our foe away. Then I proceeded to slap Chiuco in the face, until he snapped out of his stunned mind.
“Concentrate, you fool! I won’t save you again.” I whispered to him before leaping back again.
I keep my word, I won’t save this fool again.
When the Hobgoblin charged again, Chiuco managed to defend himself. While both of them were clashing against each other, our foe slowly won the upper hand.
Using a chance, Chiuco used his fire breath, which is several times stronger and bigger than mine.
Skill: Fire breath upgraded to (lesser)
With his face burning and his skin smelting he couldn’t hold up his defense, a single slash from Chiuco finished him. The other two Goblins who hid were quickly dealt with.
And then, the auction began.

Like I said last chapter, no chapter next week, but I will try to put out 3 chapters a week after that.
I hope I will be able to hold that up but if my school exams come up I wont have much time to write.

Take Two!
College student majoring in botany has a fateful encounter with truck-kun while trying to get back in shape after realizing that his freshman 15 turned into the sophomore 20, and then the junior 30. After going through a very amusing(to some) hell, he gets the chance to transmigrate into a body of his own design on a magical world. Playing to his strengths, he chose the Plantkin race, and the new name of Sorrel to match. This is a slow-paced, magical, slice-of-life story with a focus on relationships. There will be sex(I'll try to keep the explicit stuff to a minimum, but it will be there), swearing, really bad jokes, and enough food to spoil your diet. There will not be a lot of action, epic quests to save the world, or anything even remotely resembling a big-bad-evil-guy(a few smaller bad guys, sure. But, no BBEG). Note: This is a re-write of my first story "Congratulations, You're Dead!". And, is much more what I wish I had written in the first place. The characters and the world are very similar, with a few key differences. The story may borrow some elements from Congrats, but should be considered as its own work. Reading Congrats first is not needed, or even reccommended, not unless you want to see some really cringey romance in the early chapters.

In this claustrophobic environment, those who desire peace must act quickly or these tunnels will collapse in the fires of war. _____ This story is based on a role-playing map game I GM'd awhile ago. The four main characters are based on the four players from that map game, and the general sequence of events follows the game as well.
