Chapter 81 Bluedragon Fortress

By now, Bluedragon's City was fastly different compared to the Bluedragon's City from seven years ago. Not only did it expand it's borders to about two times the original amount, the whole city was also surrounded by a 500 meter tall wall! This wall was made out of a very rare stone, the Eternal Night stone, an unmeasurable black stone that was considered one of the hardest stones in the world.

In terms of toughness it was comparable to the physique of a deity stage expert. A body that was many times tougher then even diamond! In fact if diamond has a hardness of 10, Eternal Night stone as well as the body of deity stage cultivators of 30!(Chuck Norris is at 60)

In simple words, this stones the over 500 meter high night black wall was composed of, were 3 times harder then even diamond!

In addition to this ridiculous hard stones, there were also formation on and in front of the wall covering the entire almost 50.000.000 square meter big city wall was completely covered by formations. Additionally this formations were not just any formations. This formations were many times more complicated then the ones on the earlier cities.

This were the masterpieces of Reis and her disciples of the Heavenly Formation School. The last three years, most of their time was spend on building this wall and it's formations. Every single formation, no matter how small or unimportant it seemed to be, was perfectly planed and complemented the system of defence and attack mechanisms.

In a way every of them was a small piece of art, a painting composed out of many lines that in the end formed the entirety of the masterpiece. The only difference was, that a painting would normally not kill people

Other then the gigantic with formations covered wall, there were also four big monoliths in front of the city. They were placed in four different directions facing against each other. On each of this huge stone monoliths there was a pavilion placed on the top of them making it seem like four mountain peaks with their respective schools on them.

Each pavilion was protected by multiple blue shining formations that formed a dome above the pavilions and made attacks harder to reach them. On top of this formations there were also formations covering the rest of the monoliths and forming a net of lines that already resembled the pattern of scales on a dragon. A dark red light was emitted by this lights and making the monoliths look like gigantic strangely shaped dragons that had been sleeping for centuries so that people already build their houses on them.

They kind of reminded one of the tales of giants who slept for thousands of years without moving at all, already being regarded as regular hills with villages build on it. Civilisations flourished on their backs, kingdoms build their capitals. Nations fought over the land and split blood on it.

And after thousands years of history, the giant suddenly wakes up and the cities along with everything that was ever build on the giant is destroyed just like this.

But well, this monoliths were really just monoliths and not some gigantic ancient life forms that were just having a small nap. Only the formations in the form of patterns that seemed like scales made them kind of lifelike.

But other then the formations, there were also a few things on the top of the monoliths. Namely a garrison of about 30.000 soldiers posted in each of the four pavilions and multiple attack formations acting as long ranged measures against enemies.

Of course they also had formations that allowed an immediate draw back to Bluedragon city once the pressure was to big.

This were the defences before the city. But inside the city, there was also a second wall. It was much smaller then the first one, only a few dozen meter high. Just like the first wall it was covered by many formations pattering like circles that overlapped with each other forming one big entirety. Of course this formations were not even close to the numbers on the first wall and they had not as much defence capabilities. No matter if in terms of defence or attack capabilities in Bluedragon city it could only be called mediocre.

Well only in Bluedragon city though. If placed in a normal area, it would easily become famous as indestructible wall and many people would go to comprehend it's secrets. After all this wall was easily able to deflect a deities attack!

It's only because of the scale Bluedragon's cities defences were on, that it couldn't be called much.

But what was really important was, what was behind the wall. Right after the wall, there was a blue film in form of a dome that surrounded the whole inner area. It was namely the formation Zes had made 4 years ago when he became Bluedragon city's ruler. The already legendary Bluedragon Formation. The immortal guard watching over the capital of the kingdom.

This formation was the true third defence line. It was the border between the outer city and the inner city and in fact, it was akin to the border between two completely different worlds.

As soon as one crossed the formation, it was as if stepping into a different world. Not only the density of qi, also the colors and scents around you changed. Suddenly everything became brighter and full of live. Multitudes of different laws were all around you and even though the population of the inner city had long ago exceeded the ten millions, it still had a very natural feeling to it.

Trees and different plants were growing all over the place. Next to the streets, on the roofs sometimes even on the facades of the houses. And not only the places at that they grew were special, the plant themselves would shock anyone that visits the city for the first time. Not only were all of them extremely rare, most of them were also qi cultivating treasures.

Plants normal people would painstakingly search for, were just growing in the gardens of the people here. In fact there were even cultivation treasures that were growing between the bricks of the streets and were regarded as weeds.

They were pulled out and thrown away. Such a wasteful thing, where else would you encounter this? But this were not the biggest changes, the inner city had.

The whole city was a labyrinth of bridges and floating ways. The whole ground had been excavated and streets and houses were build in stead of the earth. The result was a city of multiple levels with the former surface being the first level and the ground below that had been excavated turning into deeper levels.

Between the streets and houses there were deep abysses and spontaneous open spaces. Below there were houses and other streets.

Of course, soon the top storey meaning the former surface became the area for the rich and influential, while the poorer one went into the deeper levels and took their place there.

It wasn't, that it was dark down there, there was plenty of light falling between the streets and houses down to even the deepest level many hundred meters below, also there were many sources of light there that helped to further illuminate the area, but who would rather live below a person's feet if he could live above them?

Of course thus that had money and influence would settle in the surface area with easy access to the important facilities of the city. The poorer once had to make place and go further down. Of course this was still better then living outside, especially for cultivators. First of all the time was passing 10 times faster then outside, allowing you to get ahead of your peers. Secondly the insane qi density increased the cultivation speed.

It was like reaping the benefit of one year in a few weeks!

So all in all the inner city was a paradise for every cultivator and a true blessing for the kingdom, as while for the church three years of continuos slaughter had passed, for them it has been 30 years in that they had the opportunity to train new troops and further increase the quality of their army.

Bluedragon city had become a fortress cable of holding for centuries, a fortress with wonders and secrets on every corner. Not only had in three layers of defenses, the four monoliths, the 500 meter high wall and the Bluedragon Formation it also had the capabilities to hold many million people and at the same time train a huge army.

It was without doubt, that there was a need for a miracle if the church wanted to take it down.
