Chapter 58 Bad Joke
Gradually the other disciples also realized who the group of core disciples were that had come into the lecture. It was openly known that Zes and Maaran, who came into the sect at the same time were good friend with each other. In fact, there were rumors from certain female disciples that had been dumped by Maaran, that in truth there was something more in the relationship between the two of them. Seeing the relaxed manner in that Zes was dealing with Maaran they also loosened their tension and chatter emerged in between them.
Zes and Maaran payed no heed to the outer disciples. In the first place the lection had no specified duration, so Zes could also just end it right here. After all no one of the outer disciples could say that they hadn't gained anything in it. Zes word all contained some mysteries regarding soul realm and it's cultivation and as long as they listened carefully they would easily gain at least some minor insights.
Finally Zes gave the outer disciples a sign and said some closing words. The outer disciples saw that Zes wanted to talk with Maaran and the other core disciples and quickly made their ways out of the theater. They had their gains, so why should they interfere in his private matters. In the first place they had no ability to do so even if they tried to. After all this was a group of core disciples and the smartest head in the sect we are talking about.
Maaran and Zes just continued their conversation as they saw them leave. Moments later the whole theater was empty except for Zes, Maaran and Maarans harem members.
"By the way, how long will it take you to reach soul liquid stage? In the end the only cause that you are still a inner sect disciple is because of your low soul realm cultivation. As soon as you reach soul liquid I'm sure that the patriarch will right away make you a elder of the sect."

Maaran asked Zes with a concerned glance. Zes had stayed at soul concentration stage for 3 months now and there had been no signs of him breaking threw and reaching soul liquid stage, instantly making him a core disciple or elder of the sect. But Zes just stayed silent. Even though there was no emotion on his face, Maaran still understood the meaning and stopped asking.
A weird silence arose between them until finally a girl standing behind Maaran stepped forward. Shyly she asked.
"Ähm, Zes could you help me with something?"
Zes ice cold gaze fell onto her, making her shiver inside of her mind. He simply nodded making the cold feeling lessen. Encouraged the girl asked.
"I've stayed at soul liquid stage for half a year now and I already can sense that I should be able to break thought to soul sea stage. But somehow I'm unable to do so. What should I do?"
The girls that asked, was a beauty with long brown hair and a delicate white face. Her red lips were full and a light blush could be seen on her cheeks. Expectantly she looked at Zes that seemed to be in thought.
After a long time….
"Go and Die."
The girl blinked and looked at Zes. Coldness and a faint feeling of killing intent was radiating from the handsome but frozen face of Zes making his word even more dreadful for the girl. She started trembling and backed away a few steps.
It was only now, that she realized that Maaran that was standing on the sidelines was laughing so hard that he was holding his sides. The other girls of his harem were surprised staring at the young man almost dying of laughter.
A ice cold and emotionless voice got to the trembling girls ears.
"That was a joke."
The girl was blankly staring at the tower of snow and ice standing in front of her. Maaran on the other hand couldn't hold it anymore and fell to the ground laughing while holding his sides that were hurting. Only after a few moments, movement came into the girl and her face became as red as a apple lying in the sun for 3 weeks. Maaran slowly got up from the ground still trying to suppress his laughter.

"I,…. I- i wasn't frighted."
The embarrassed voice of the girl floated in the space between them. For a soul liquid stage core disciple to be frightened by a few words of a concentration stage disciple to the point of being unable to control the own body. If this came out she would undoubtedly become the laughing stock of the whole core sect. After all even though Zes had a reputation as the one with the highest comprehension in the sect no body had ever seen him fight and most did not believe him to be anymore powerful then a normal inner sect disciple. In the end he was still soul concentration stage and not soul liquid stage.
How much could he compensate with his comprehension alone? This was what most people in the sect were thinking.
After hearing the girls words, Maaran once again laughed out loud until finally suppressing it completely.
"Hahah, Lilia, there is no shame in fearing this freak there. He can proudly say that there is no one you have more reason to fear then him. As for you …. Oh god, please, please never try to do a joke like this ever again ok? Fuck, I haven't see many treats that would be scarier then this joke of yours. For real, I have never seen anyone making this joke so hilarious as you."
Lilia strangely looked at Maaran. There was no one she had more reason to fear then Zes? It seemed that Maaran knew a few things about Zes that she did not know. Rather this were things no one in this sect except for Maaran and Zes knew. In her hearth Lilia decided to investigate a bit. She like Maaran and she had long ago became a part of his harem making her unable to harm Maaran. In fact, she had to follow any word Maaran said, especially if it was about night time matters. But she was really curious, just what secrets the two of them had between them that were important enough to justify Maarans statement.
Well, either way that had to wait until later. For now Lilia decided to just follow Maaran around.
After a few more words and another bad joke attempt from Zes side, Zes joined Maarans group and they made their way to the sect city.
The sect city was surrounded by a tall white wall made out of a white kind of granite. Only this kind of granite was infused with natural qi making it much harder then normal one. In fact this type of granite was even harder then diamonds! Even a nascent stage expert would have troubles to break the stone apart even more when taking the countless formations into account that were all over the wall and also the space above the city.
Adding the formations together, it was almost impossible for anything underneath the peak deity stage to get into the city once the gates where closed.
Inside of the city were houses and pagodas made out of the same granite. Most of them were meant for one or two people to live in, but there were also some bigger mansions belonging to families that were forming the core of the sect. This families had been in the sect even before they choose to take the opportunity and come to this realm. They made out the foundation of the sect and most of the inner sect disciples and even some of the core disciples came form their bloodlines.
Many secrets were hidden in this old-timer families, but soon they all would finally see the daylight.
