Chapter 52 Die
On the ground where once had been the grand capital of the Cers kingdom with its hundreds of thousands of inhabitants and its grand mansions and palaces was now nothing but a deserted area with nothing but rubble and dirt. This formerly flourishing and bustling place has now changed into a lifeless and dead place.
Zes was hovering above this scene of complete destruction. No emotion at all could be seen on his face but the freezing cold and domineering aura was still there. A fresh wind whistled and made Zes hair and clothes flutter.
With a cold gaze he was looking down onto this scene of death and desolation. In fact, he knew that he had just killed many fellow beings, which loved, lived and enjoyed their lives. He also knew that it was very likely that there had been some humans remaining in the city as the demons had not intended to keep their promise either way. But right now all of this was unimportant for him. The only thing in his mind was revenge. Revenge for Reis death but for the most part revenge for his broken trust.
Until now he had always tried to keep the death count as low as possible and to cooperate with the demons. He wanted to make all demon kind to coexist and help the human race. It was only when he witnessed the Kun clan’s betrayal that he finally understood one thing. Just like humans, demons could also lie. They were also greedy and often did not understand reason when being pressured.
Just how many cases of humans that destroyed everything around them while trying to reap benefits for themselves had happened in the past era?

Deep inside of him Zes had always known this. He knew how corrupted and evil humans’ or demons’ mind could be. But he always repressed it. He repressed it because he knew that the only other way would result in slaughter. A huge slaughter.
But now the death of Reis had triggered something inside of him. Right now he did not care how many deaths it would require. He would set an example and ascertain that humans will be able to live without being bothered at least for one decade. It was cruel but it was the only way Zes could find a way to really suppress the demons greed and make sure they wouldn't attack Bluedragon city for at least a decade. After a decade, the forces inside of Bluedragon city and the humans themselves, boosted by the powerful effects of the Blue Dragon Formation, would be able to fight them themselves and he wouldn't have to worry about them.
So right now, he would kill. It won't be a slaughter, it will be a genocide.
The qi around Zes started to go rampage. It was as if a storm was suddenly appearing in a calm sea and ripping apart the silence that had been there. Slowly the violently streaming qi calmed down and formed into something else with Zes being the center of it. Actually, right now the qi wasn't really qi anymore. It was rather some kind of law cycling around Zes and radiating majestically grandeur. Everyone looking at it and feeling its nature would know that it was something greater than a dragon grade dao. It was the one thing judging over all things that happen. It was a genuine high grade creation stage dao! The dao of Justice!
As the dao formed around Zes, more and more strands of it shoot towards him as if to approve his righteousness. After the last strand fused into the invisible but undeniable existence surrounding Zes, Zes opened his mouth.

The words he spoke started to roar inside of the minds of all beings on earth. It doesn't matter if they were humans, demons or animals. It did not differentiate between foundation stage and deity stage nor did it between rich or poor, king or slave. Every living being on earth was hearing Zes’s words inside of them and every word caused their souls to tremble and their hearth to beat quicker.
"I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO AVOID USELESS SLAUGHTER AND TRIED TO BE REASONABLY WITH YOU DEMONS. MY ONLY WISH WAS THAT YOU WOULD STOP HUNTING AND KILLING HUMANS AND FINALLY COEXIST WITH THEM. OVER AND OVER AGAIN I WAS WILLING TO FORGIVE YOU AND GIVE YOU A NEW CHANCE.
I DID IT WHEN YOU KILLED MY PARENTS. I DID IT AS YOU DESTROYED OUR CIVILISATION. I ENDURED WHEN YOU CONTINUED TO KILL THE LAST SURVIVORS OF MY RACE. I ALWAYS HOPED THAT YOU WOULD FINALLY UNDERSTAND.
BUT NOW I HAD ENOUGH. YOU HAVE HURT AND BETRAYED ME OVER AND OVER AND NOW I FINALLY CAN'T ENDURE ANYMORE.
MAY THIS BE YOUR PUNISHMENT. FROM THIS DAY ON THERE WILL BE NO DEMON OVER THE IMMORTAL STAGE REMAINING IN THIS REALM.
I HAVE TO TAKE THE POSITION OF A JUDGE AND I WILL DO IT. USING THE DAO OF JUSTICE I WILL PASS JUDGMENT ONTO YOU."
Zes stopped for a moment and coldly scanned the entire planet using divine sense. After his breakthrough, his powers had surged and his divine sense became powerful enough to even reach the moon and easily covered the whole planet. In his mind he could see the frightened faces of billions of demons. Especially the deity stage experts and patriarchs all had their minds trembling. A vicious smile appeared on his face. This was just what they deserved. After all they too had murdered billions of humans. Then he finally put an end to the wait. A single word left his mouth.
"DIE"
As it resonated inside of the demons minds, horrified screams arose all over the earth. In all bigger sects and clans the patriarchs and elders felt their souls splitter apart. A moment later, there was not a single deity remaining in this realm. The demons tremblingly looked at their patriarchs and elders, which had just died. They all knew that everything would change from now on.
An immortal powerful enough to easily kill every deity stage practitioner had appeared and cleansed the world in one swoop. Who would still be as fearless as to kill humans or hold them as slaves? It could be said that if this expert was feeling like it he could directly make whole demon kind into the humans’ slaves!
Even though it's said that plenty would change, this did not apply to the 6 great kingdoms. As long as Zes wouldn't personally destroy them, they would still remain as even though the elders and patriarchs that were deities had died, they still had their huge armies of immortals to protect their kingdoms.
The biggest thing that was changing was that immortal stage wouldn't be a second rate expert but the peak existences in the world. And also humanity’s standing would undergo a change.
In fact, only a few moments after Zes killed all the deities, all the kingdoms had already started to gather the humans inside of their territory and prepared to send them to Bluedragon city. After all they had already heard about the powerful human cultivator that appeared there and they were smart enough to figure out just who was betrayed by whom.

All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
