Chapter 41 Shadows
While waiting for the elders of the Kun clan, Pinia was standing in a corner at first, while Les, Reis and Zoe were talking to each other with Zes listening. But after some time she could not take it to stand alone in the corner and also sat at the table, and conversed with the other girls. Like this they spend a few hours and Zes that had been listening at the beginning sat down and started cultivating. Immediately a stream of qi formed and the density of qi inside the room became even higher than it was in the beginning.
Pinia was astonished and a bit of fear crept into her eyes. If Zes cultivated like this, there was no surprise that he cultivated a whole stage in a single week. This was literally inhuman!
But after some time she also got used to the sign of qi being gathered around Zes and then rapidly sucked inside of him. In fact she even started absorbing some of the qi herself as to also profit from the density of qi, which now reached about 7 times the density compared to the city's surroundings.
After four hours of wait finally motion got into them. A boom filled the air coming from the great blue dome surrounding the city. Zes, Pinia and the three girls flew out of the mansion and headed towards the direction the booms came from. In front of the dome, there were 9 individuals flouting in the air. 8 of them joined together and attacked the dome while another man stood behind them. The 8 people shot small orbs of different colors that crashed into the dome in attempt to break it.
Inside of the dome the inhabitants of Bluedragon city had taken positions and fueled their qi into the formation in order to strengthen it. It did not matter what the 8 individuals tried, they were just unable to break the dome surrounding Bluedragon city.
As the group of Zes, Pinia and the other girls reached the dome, an elderly woman stopped attacking and cried out.
"Pinia!"
The other seven also stopped their attacks, as they showed no results. They also turned towards the group inside the dome. A middle aged man wearing a crown on his head also yelled.
"Pinia, are you alright?"
The answer came right back.
"Yes, I'm ok. The immortal wants to make a deal with the patriarch so he has not injured me at all."
The middle aged frowned and looked back to the person that had not moved until now. The person that had not attacked with the others was naturally the patriarch. He wasn’t an old geezer but a middle aged man. But even though he did not seem to differ much from the elders, there was no question that he was the strongest out of the Kun clan group. All the other elders had the powerful aura of deity stage experts but this man had no aura at all. And that was the difference. Until they exceeded deity stage, cultivators could not normally hide their aura but once exceeding it, one could not tell if a person was a cultivator or a mere mortal.

The patriarch’s eyes narrowed but nevertheless he strode forward and in the next moment he was standing in front of the blue dome. This was no teleportation but rather the Kun clan’s feared movement technique. Pinia was also able to use it but in her fight against Zes, the powerful oppression of the dragon and Zes’s aura made her unable to use it. Otherwise it would have been much harder for Zes divine body to win against her.
As the patriarch of the Kun clan arrived at the dome, another person arrived on the other side of the dome. The patriarch carefully inspected him. It was a white clad youth around same age as the daughter of his son, the king of the Cers Kingdom. Suddenly his pupils constructed. He noticed that he couldn’t feel any aura coming from the youth.
Was it possible that he also had exceeded the deity stage?
That was too unlikely. It was not that there are no people able to hide their aura but these are incredible rare and so you would rather find an expert exceeding the deity stage than someone able to hide his aura before reaching deity stage.
But as he inspected the youths face, he was startled. The youths face also showed a startled expression. This was because they had already met! To be exact, the youth was one of the first living beings he had seen when coming into this realm.
Zes also immediately recognized the middle aged man as the first demon he saw. A strange feeling of ire appeared in his mind as he thought of the scene where he had turned a few young man into blood beats and consumed it.
Strangely both of them thought of the same thing on the same time. The both remembered that day when demons first descended into this realm. But much stranger was that while the patriarch was thinking about it something inside of him started to get into motion. A strange substance gathered inside of him and then shot out of him. It instantly passed the blue dome and entered Zed head.
Surprise could be seen in the eyes of everyone including Zes and the patriarch. Then Zes suddenly closed his eyes. Inside of his mind he saw memories that were clearly not his. He felt endless terror and hate. Fear and panic. In his mind there were scenes of humans murdered and eaten, mothers and children watching how their loved ones were turned into snacks for the demons and then being eaten themselves.
Men that tried to protect their families, being ridiculed and killed.
A flash of comprehension appeared in Zes mind. These were the memories of the humans the patriarch of the Kun clan had killed and then eaten. After eating them, their souls remained inside of him unable to do anything. But now they had gathered and exited the patriarch in order to get to the next human being that was there.

As soon as they entered Zes the souls inside of the other demons also gathered together and shoot of towards Zes. More and more balls of human souls came from all directions towards Zes. Some orbs of souls were as big as walnuts while others were not even as big as a grain. Also not all demons had souls inside of them. Most of the young demons had never killed any human and some of old ones also did not participated in the cruel slaughter.
As more and more soul orbs gathered and entered Zes mind, he saw more and more memories. Memories of the love between couples, the love of a mother towards her child and the memories of them seeing their loved ones killed. Hate, wrath, fear, terror and many other emotions flooded his mind.
Tears began to roll down his face. These tears were not out of water, nor were they out of blood. They were entirely out of the sorrow he felt inside of him. As the last orbs entered him, a mark appeared on his forehead. It was a black tear. This mark did not only appeared at the divine body but also on Zes real body that was still sitting inside of his chamber.
After the mark formed, indistinct shadows started to appear behind the divine body. One after another they appeared. The people next to him backed away astonished by the sudden change of Zes. Slowly the shadows became clearer and they now recognized them. They were children, women, men, couples, families, old men and elderly women. All of them had only sorrow in their faces. They all formed a seemingly unending crowd of humans behind Zes.
The sight astonished everyone present. The shadows behind Zes were as innumerable as the stars and there was no one able to even guess how many there were. But most of them had by now understood their meaning.
Zes was still standing there, black tears flowing down his face. Unending sorrow could be seen in his eyes as he saw all the grief the souls transmitted to him. He turned around facing the crowd and a hoarse voice, not resembling his usual playful style came from his throat.
"You all want me to kill them … You want me to repay the blood of our kind with the one of their whole race….
But I cannot do this. I cannot kill the whole demon kind. Not because I'm not able to do so, it's just that it wouldn't change anything. There would only be more blood on all sides.
So … I cannot kill them. But… I can promise you that I will never allow something like this to happen. I can promise that I will let them know just how much sorrow and grief they had brought us. And I can kill the one before my eyes."
He turned towards the patriarch. Killing intent in his eyes. He bellowed.
"WHY? Why… 800 million humans. All killed by you alone. All eaten and then forgotten for all time. I ask you why did you do it? What good did it to you?"
The patriarch stayed silent as his narrowed eyes stayed focused on Zes. The later kicked into the air and rapidly closed into the patriarch. The huge amount of shadows followed close behind. Making an awe-inspiring sight.
The patriarch coldly smiled and also shoot towards Zes. As they neared each other a voice suddenly sounded in the minds of all the people inside of Bluedragon city. In fact the demons all around the world all heard it inside of them. Also rather than calling it a voice it should be called a collective of voices.
"You demons have killed many of us…. it were not just hundreds. Nor were it thousands. Neither millions. It were Milliards!! Seven milliard humans were killed by your race. We did not know why, we did not know who, we only knew that we were killed just like insects by you.
We wanted revenge, we wanted to see blood. To see your race suffer like we did.
But he that is the first one able to fight you. The one able to eradicate you from our planet is not willing to go this path. Rather he wants to bring back humanity from death’s doors. He wants us to coexist.
We do not like the idea …. But if he our most powerful descendant is willing to go this path we will help him. We, humanities lost souls give our humanities legacy to him so that he will let humanity rise again."
As the voice sounded inside of the demons’ minds, sorrow and grief flooded their minds. They quickly understood that these were the feelings of the humans they slaughtered. Some demons expressions showed regret, others true sorrow while some stayed indifferent or even had hate in their eyes.
As the divine body and the patriarch met in the air. The divine body was instantly destroyed, the shadows dissipating behind him. Shock could be seen on the Bluedragon city's side, while triumph on the Kun clans. But the patriarch only frowned.
"A clone…"

In Another World with Doraemon's 4D Pocket
Cary found himself awoken in a foreign land with what he thought was a nondescript white pouch. Reaching into the white pouch, he was able to pull out an assortment of gadgets that he recognized to be from his favorite childhood show, Doraemon. With the thousands of mischievous, powerful gadgets inside the 4D pocket, Cary will take on this new world by storm! Something ridiculous I will write purely for fun alongside my main story Giantslayer As a disclaimer, I may nerf some of the most broken gadgets or even not use them at all. Doraemon was insane for a children manga (e.g. Doraemon canonically has a nuclear bomb inside his 4D pocket), some of the gadgets have the potential to end this story in one chapter. The most important factor is fun so anything that completely breaks the story might not be mentioned at all (or we will pretend they do not exist in the 4D pocket). We may find uses for those broken gadgets in the future, though. I am not particularly good at writing comedy. There will of course be funny moments (at least I hope they are funny) but everyone in this story will actually behave in a realistic(?) and serious manner. I want the serious world to contrast with some of the wacky gadgets that are available.
