《Dao of Emperor》Chapter 29: Lesson
Advertisement
Hi guy's, here is chapter 29. As I wrote yesterday, I will be on a trip until Friday, so I do not now, if I can write a chapter everyday. But it's almost certain, that I will write at least one or two chapters. hope you understand it. If not, just commit suicide over it. Not my problem. Also I'm now writing on my tablet, so everything is a bit different from normal.
Enough of this here is chapter 29 I hope you like it.
Chapter 29 Lesson
Les and Zoe did not knew what to reply to that. Even though Zes was strong, what could a person that was only cultivating for 10 odd years possibly teach a nascentstage expert of a cultivator clan?
Reis on the other hand already knew, that Zes had some strange knowledge regarding cultivation and the dao's and that the humans of this realm seemed to have a much deeper comprehension towards the natural law's of the world then the demons and humans from the other one.
Zes sat onto a chair looked into their eyes and seriously asked.
"First of all, tell me what do you think is qi?"
The girls pondered for some time and though about it. Not many cultivators though about qi, as most saw it as natural, as something that had always been there and will always be there. So they saw no use in thinking about something seemingly pointless. Finally Reis answered.
"Um, as far as I know qi is the natural energy of nature, we cultivators absorb in order to strengthen our bodies and control it in techniques."
Zes slowly nodded.
"Well that's what you demons believe qi to be, but that's only a very crude way to characterise qi.
Qi is a form of energy, that's right. But if it's the energy of nature how come that there was no qi in this realm, before you demons came her? How could there have been any live on this realm, if there was no energy of nature, no dao of live?"
The girls did not knew what to answer. It was true, there had been no qi in this world before they came here. It only appeared after they used their own qi that was stored inside their dantian's and slaughtered the humans with it. After that it just became more without anyone really caring about it, since it did not really changed anything.

"I will tell you. Qi is only another form of energy, as well as matter is only energy in another form. Originally there had been no qi in this realm, but when you demons came into it you also brought quite a bit of qi with you. This qi reacted with the matter of our world and dissolved it into qi, resulting in an increase of the qi in the surroundings. This qi did the same and also dissolved another form of energy and formed it into qi. like this it became more and more qi until it became like it's now."
Reis and Les were astonished. Zes words made sense, but they themselves would never think of something like this. They would not even try to do so.
But Zoe sceptically responded.
"How can matter be the same as qi? Qi is not something you can touch, while the thinks we walk on are all out of matter. More importantly how could you humans no something like that even we demons did not knew about?"
Zoe could not accept, that the humans that were looked down upon by everyone could have had such an deep comprehension of the natural laws. An comprehension that clearly exceeded their own. She knew, that humans could not be that bad, as they produced a monster like Zes. But for them to exceed them by so much? She could not accept this so easy.
Zes looked at her strangely.
"Shouldn't you first think a bit before talking? Can you not create matter out of qi? Can you not produce water, fire earth with just using a bit of qi? Aren't you flying by using qi in order to stand on it or shoot you threw the space? Believe me, there were many smart humans, that were thousands of times more intelligent then you, that have spent their lives trying to understand the world. The things they said were tested and sawn as correct."
His tone changed. It seemed, that he got angry.
"Do you think that you as mere demons could just disregard everything we humans have worked for, that we have ever managed to do? It maybe the truth, that you were stronger in therm of power, but in everything else humanity was eons ahead of you.…"

Zes stopped as he saw, that he had scared the girls. This was the first time they had seen him angry since the incident with the elder nascent cultivator. Zes realized, that he had jelled at them unjustly. How could they just believe like this that everything they were taught was wrong and humans they saw as inferior had long since discovered the real thing.
But he really could not stand the attitude of demons, to disregard everything that was human. To trample on it and make it bad. Also there had been a shadow in his hearth from the first day the demons came into this realm and he became a cultivator. Every time a demon would speak badly about humanity or his parents he would loose control and become irrationally angry.
"I'm sorry…."
He apologized. But Zoe immediately cut of his words.
"No, it's nothing please just resume. It's my fault for not being able to believe that humanity could have been so much ahead of us in this regard."
She felt some shame, as she knew, that she had looked down onto humanity as the other demons, althought she should know better. The situation was resolved like this and Zes slowly resumed to explain, what he wanted to get to.
"But even if it's able to dissolve other energy forms and form them to qi, in the end qi is just another energy form. So it there has to be an origin. Something that makes the foundation of everything else.
This origin is the same for every energy form that existed. Qi, matter, heat, electricity. Every of them is composed out of an energy, so simple that it can be the origin for everything there is."
The girls head spun. This was something even more profound then a creationstage dao. It was the Principe behind dao's and everything around them. It explained the whole world and changed their view on the world. it could be said, that they had a very narrow view onto the world. Being focused on dao's and qi techniques. Now they noticed, that there was something bigger behind it and they suddenly saw aspects they never saw before.
"My dao of Emperor is nothing else but a dao controlling that original energy and giving it a shape in form of another dao."
Now Reis understood, how it was possible for Zes to recreate her dao of Jerna, by only knowing it's attributes. He just used original energy to simulate a dao with the attributes she told him and then formed it along the results of it.
But Les and Zoe were just shocked. This dao of Zes, was just to much of a cheat! He could use every dao he wanted, by just controlling the energy it was based on. He did not even had to comprehend it before hand!
But their thoughts changed with the next sentence.
"Even if it sound easy. In order to form a dao, I have to simulate it in my head and understand the rules behind it. The rules behind dao's are the same as energies. There may be many different rules, but they are all based on a few simple ones. I have to use this simple ones to recreate the other ones and use them to simulate a dao."
"Does that mean, that you have to first simulate the rules of a dao, simulate the dao itself and then create it?"
To calculate the rules of a dao and then simulate it in ones head while meditating for some years was hard enough, but to do that in midst of a fight? One had to have a unimagined brain capability to do this and more importantly you would have to stay completely clam and composed!
"Well not exactly. Once I form a dao, I can roughly remember 10 or twelfth dao's at a time. I can use them without having to recreate everything. As for the rest, I can simulate a dao including the rules behind it in about 10 micro seconds. Otherwise how could I have released so many dao essences in one fight?"
Silence. Les, Reis and Zoe stared at Zes as if they would look at some monster from another world that was talking about world domination.

8 86The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
