Chapter 35: The New Town

It was a long journey The Shadow hunters, John, and I traveled for almost a week, Grey arranged a meeting with one of his good friends in the town where they were going, the town named The Town of lightning, nobody knew why the people who lived there called it like that, there was barely any lightning or storms in that part of the country.

As they arrive at the gate of the town, multiple guards approach them, 'State your business', 'we are friendly, just seeking a few days inside an inn then we will move on', one of the guards clearly not trusting them with all the bags and weapons they got with them, 'Why do you guys have so many weapons', as I replied to him, 'did you not hear there was a giant bandit invasion at the town, not even a week away from here?'.

The guard clearly not in the mood, 'Yeh... we heard that we got one rule here before entering, you have to turn in your weapons, for at least the first night, no entry otherwise', as the guards take them toward the gate as they agreed to give up their weapons for the first night, they were let inside.

Inside the town was a guildhall, multiple houses each way you can look, a few inns, a few shops, and a smith.

John tells us he had to go to the guildhall before anything else, The Shadow hunters move toward the inn as they pay for a big room, with three beds, I would go around the town exploring what is around the town, I stumble upon a small store, 'Hey kid', an older man inside yells again, 'Come inside, we got great things in here', I would go inside looking around I saw nobody, 'seems kind of empty to me', the man instantly standing up coming closer toward me, 'The people are just crazy here... heh', I would try to go out the store, as the man instantly rushes to the door blocking it, 'not so fast, I got something special for you', the old man walks back to the back of his store as he is taking something up, I would try to leave, as I notice the door is locked.
