Chapter 29: A Battle On The Horizon
The noises became louder and louder, as the guards on the wall sounded the bells, as from far away many men were lining up in giant groups of over a hundred each, it did not take long before all the troops were up and ready to fight, as two hundred bowmen made a big group in front of the gate while hundred went up the wall, as the horsemen a total of eight hundred strong made eight lines of hundred, waiting for the enemy to attack or for a sign to attack them.
John and The Shadow Hunters joined the troops in front of the gate, Robert came to them, while Grey was gone, he appeared behind Jack out of nowhere, 'There is only around seven hundred here right now, I think it is a trap', as Robert only heard 'there is around seven hundred', he laughed loudly, 'we will destroy them with ease'.
More loud noises came from the forest as around eleven hundred troops on foot came from the forest, in front of the two horsemen, defiantly the leaders.
The troops not looking like bandits at all, Robert immediately asks around him 'what is going on, those are not bandits!', as one of the men yells toward them, 'incoming one man on a horse', as the horse comes closer he yells, 'I am coming to give you a message from the kings of the forest, they hereby take this whole town and the forest, if you do not comply we will use force', Grey who had enough of this fools treats throws a dagger right at the man, it hits him right in the chest as he falls off the horse bleeding from his mouth, 'we do not negotiate with bandits', the man before dying smiles toward Grey 'it is your funeral'.

One of the two horsemen on the enemy side looked at the man fall off his horse clearly being dead after saying one last thing, he laughs loudly 'I love it when they wanna fight', 'Men, for any kill you get today, we will double your payment'.
Robert realized these were not bandits, these were mercenaries! 'watch out they are not normal bandits', as the Battle begins.
