Chapter 3: A Scream?

we were all sleeping peacefully, as out of nowhere we could hear screaming outside, which is pretty unusual since we only have a few locals living nearby, I flew out of my bed going out of my room I could see my father and mother going downstairs looking through the window, it was dark outside, way too dark to see anything, after a few seconds my father decided to go outside, he opened the door but saw nothing out of the ordinary outside, there was no nobody, my father went to check on the locals, but they heard no scream.
