《My Hermit Life》Chapter 59 - ( Battle against Nath )

If one were to look into the middle of a certain forest near a certain kingdom that was home to a certain dragoness and her monkey cousin; they would discover a group of people consisting of a gang ran by Nath, Gabrielle's biggest rival.
The group was lead by Solomon who had tricked Nath into coming into the forest. He had tricked him by lieing and saying that Gabby was having a big deal between her and one of her biggest suppliers of various ingredients. What Nath didn't know was that Solomon provided all of Gabbrielle's ingredients.
The only reason Solomon was able to get Nath to actually go out into the field is by convincing the arrogant prick that he could kill two birds with one stone. Nath could not only kill Gabby, but he could also contact her supplier and bring him over to his side. Nath seeing the obvious benefits as well as having immense trust in his second favorite subordinate, Solomon, decided to go with Solomon and thirty of his strongest guards.
The forest that Solomon and Gabby had the trap set up in was one that was fairly new to the kingdom, having been started by the previous king. After about fifty years the trees had gotten completely grown and had become not only one of the most beautiful sites in the country, but had also become a critical defensive measure for the city. The forest had also become one of the most popular hang out areas for the various gangs populating the city. There would often times be a deal or two or even three going on somewhere in the forest.
Solomon and Loretta had out fitted the entire forest with millions upon millions of formations, each of the formations had some type of suppressing effect. Whether it be on Mana, physical suppression, even mental suppression. If all of he formations were to be converted into explosion formations it could blow up the entire country easily. Solomon of course didn't want to do that since he had plans to rob some of the nobles going against Gabby.

Solomon, Nath, and the thirty guards made zero noise while they were sneaking towards the middle of the forest where " the deal " was going down. The deal was of course an excuse Solomon and Gabby had come up with to trick Nath, in reality the center of the forest was where all of the formations targeted. The biggest problem though was trying to get Nath into the center formation. So Solomon just made the center to take up an entire clearing, this would lower the power, but it's better to make sure Nath is suppressed instead of taking a chance with him not being suppressed.
When the gang got within one mile of " the deal " Gabby and the actors from her gang started to do their play. Making " the deal " seem legit.
After a couple minutes of sneaky walking Solomon and his gang finally reached the middle. What they saw was at least two dozen of Gabrielle's guards surrounding the circular clearing. In the middle of the clearing was Gabby standing a meter across from a tall lanky man who looks like a vampire. 'Course he wasn't but he was pale, lanky, had long sharp nails, black hair, and reddish eyes, if he had fangs he would totally complete the look.
Gabby and the man looked to be pretending to argue, Nath obviously didn't know that and thought it was the perfect time to ambush. His method of ambush was rather stupid considering he was supposed to be extremely smart, sadly though it seemed the fellow was cliche and stupid.
He walked into the clearing right past Gabby's guards, his guards of course being the only thing to protect him. Solomon hung back though to observe the situation, he was going to shrink the middle to get the biggest advantage he could get. Nath being a cliche idiot moved right up to to Gabby being within two meters of her and the " dealer ".
" Well well well, if it isn't a whore, what are you doing out here? You buying horse dildos to fill your massive gaping muff? "

" Do you know what a man with a small dick has for breakfast? I don't know I figured you would."
Most of the guards from Loretta's side giggled, even some of Nath's people couldn't hold it in. Nath became red in the face, though soon after he calmed himself down and put a small smirk on his average face.
" Make as many jokes as you want, whore, soon enough you'll be dead and I'll have complete control. "
When Nath said that he jumped backwards, tried to anyway, Solomon activated the formation which lead to Nath landing flat on his back. He seemed to try screaming but one of the noise suppression formations Solomon had layed didn't let any sound out. After a minute of struggling Nath finally stopped. At that instant Solomon condensed all of the formations onto Nath's body. The formation crushed the surrounding earth around Nath. The pressure crushed against Nath from all angles so despite all the earth coming out from under him Nath stayed floating in mid air. Seeing such a site all of Nath's loyals were about to run towards him but they were held back by Gabby's guards. Normally twenty four people wouldn't be able to hold down thirty, but Gabby had her guy's decked out in formation weapons. Nothing fancy just a couple of nets that grew to cover four people and then would constrict. Using the nets Nath's guards were taken down within seconds. Once they were taken down Gabby's guards started dragging them to kill them off in a pre-dug ditch, ruthless but necessary.
When he saw them taken down Nath seemed to give up, he knew that day was the day he died. What mattered to him at that point wasn't if he was going to die, but instead how he was going to die. One little known fact that usually wouldn't be associated with a gang boss, was that Nath was a pansy towards pain. Even going so far as to cringe from a little paper cut, his fear was so bad that Solomon thought that it had something to do with his childhood. That . . . or Nath was simply a pansy.
Once he made sure that Nath's goons were taken care of Solomon decided to show himself. That was the part Solomon most looked forward to, seeing the look of betrayal on Nath's face. Usually Solomon wasn't so sadistic, but when you listen to someone constantly trash talk your sister for over a year you start to hate them.
When Solomon did reveal himself he didn't actually get the reaction he wanted.
" HAHAHA So the rat finally comes out of its' cave, 'bout time. "
" Ha . . . Ya . . . .Uhhh . . . . . .' Huff ' "
Solomon seemed to want to use a witty come back but he couldn't think of anything. In the end he huffed, sighed, and then walked to Gabby's side.
" Was it a plot from the beginning ooorrrr what? "
" Yep, we were actually planning before I ever even met you. I guess I should also say that I am her hidden formation master. "
" I shoulda known, it was to much of a fucking coincidence. Thinking back you had to many give always. "
" Thank Dream Magic for that, I've been manipulating you since the first day I gave you a formation. "
" ' Sigh ' Whatever, just kill me already, please. "
Solomon didn't say anything and instead nodded and walked towards Nath. Once he was close enough Solomon pulled out a staff and slammed it as hard as he physically could. He also reinforced himself with thousands of formations and tattoos. Nath's head crushed like a grape.
After Nath's death Gabby spent three months taking over all of Nath's everything. Solomon left about a week later, he only stuck around to make sure Gabby would be safe. After he left Solomon started to make his way towards Loretta as fast as he could.

The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy.
