Jack stood up and went inside his room, after closing the door he picked up the phone.

“What happened? Why did you call me?” Jack asked.

“Master that …. We have some problems here.” Rex said hesitantly.

“Don’t be afraid and tell me everything, I won’t harm you if you haven’t made any mistakes.”

Rex took a long breath and said, “Master as per your orders we were starting the unification, the five of us declared that we will be working as one and this caused some disturbance in the underworld but it worked in our favor. People started joining our gang, the business was expanding and we were making more money but yesterday we took some serious hit.”

“What happened yesterday?” Jack asked seriously.

“We were attacked yesterday, the five of us were attacked and only I survived. The only reason I survived is because of my boys, they saved me at the crucial moment but a bullet hit my leg and I am in the hospital.”

“Do you know who attacked you?”

“No, I don’t. In this business there are many enemies, maybe some people didn’t like the rise of our power.” Rex whispered.

“Which hospital are you in?”

“I am at the City Hospital.”[/color]

“I will visit you later, we will have this conversation at that time.” Jack said and ended the call.

“What should I do now?” Jack sighed while touching his forehead.

If he had his powers then he wouldn’t have to worry about these things, everything could be smoothly handled but now this incident is a huge problem. Jack can give up and not care about it but he knows that if he doesn’t have the underworld under his control then many things will be very difficult.

Jack shook his head and decided to think about it later, when he opened the door he saw Eve standing outside.

“What are you doing here?” Jack asked.

“I wanted to know with whom you were talking.” Eve said while folding her arms.

“And why would you want to know that?” Jack was getting annoyed with her.

“I decided to follow you so at least you should tell me something. Don’t you trust me?” Eve said making an unhappy face.

“I showed you my ability because I trust you but I don’t like people trying to interfere in my business.” Jack tried to reason with her.

“I just want to help you anyway I can.” Eve said looking down.

“Don’t worry you will get plenty of chances to do that.”

Eve nodded and Jack was satisfied with it, he went to his mother’s room to check on her. Eve has nowhere to go and she will be staying with Jack so he had to make up some reason to tell his mother. Jack saw that his mother was still asleep so he was worried.

“Eve come here. I need your help.” Jack shouted.

Eve came smiling; she looked at Jack and said, “How can I help you?”

“Use your power on my mother, let’s see if it helps.”

Eve nodded and grabbed Mary’s hand, yellow light passed from Eve’s hand to Mary’s body. Eve continued it for few seconds and stopped.

“She will wake up very soon.” Eve said.

Jack smiled and thanked her, after that they left the room. Jack knew nothing about Eve’s past so he decided to ask about it, Eve said everything about herself while Jack kept listening.

“You still consider the national security as your family.” Jack asked.

“No not anymore.” Eve shook her head.

“You may hate Ark; Max an even Sam for leaving you, but what I want to know is that if I go to war against the whole national security will you still support me.” Jack asked while looking straight into her eyes.

Eve hesitated for a while but within few seconds she said, “I will be with you.”

“I may even kill the people that raised you.” Jack asked smiling.

“I don’t care.” Eve didn’t hesitate this time to answer.

“From now on I will trust you Eve but in the future if you ever so choose to betray me then make sure that you kill me because if I live I won’t hesitate to kill you.” Jack said very seriously.

“That will never happen.” Eve shouted.

“What happened? Who is shouting here?” Mary said while opening the door.

Jack heard his mother’s voice and stood up, he saw his mother at the door shaking her head. He ran and went towards her.

“Mom, Are you okay?” Jack asked in concern.

“My head it hurts.” Mary said while touching her head.

“Come sit, I will bring some water for you.” Jack went to bring a glass of cold water.

When he returned he saw Eve healing his mother, he felt stupid for forgetting about Eve’s power. He gave the water to his mother to drink, Eve’s ability was very powerful and within few seconds Mary felt the pain disappear from her head. Mary didn’t know anything and she thought that the cold water had made her pain go away; after the pain was gone she was able to think clearly. Mary was surprised to find a beautiful girl touching her shoulders, so she looked at Jack telling him to explain.

Eve removed her hand from Mary’s shoulder and introduced herself, “Hello Aunty, I am Eve. I am Jack’s friend.”

Mary nodded but then she remembered something so she asked Jack “Weren’t we at Seema’s place yesterday?”

“Yes but someone from their family passed away so they left yesterday night, I tried waking you up but you didn’t wake up.

I brought you here this morning and yes they said that they took care of our problem so we can live here without any worry.”

Mary was happy when she heard it, her only worry was that Kapil would come but now she doesn’t have to worry about it. Jack knew that she was hungry so he brought her something to eat; while Mary was eating Jack and Eve were preparing the lunch. Mary looked at them working together and was smiling while thinking of something. After sometime the lunch was prepared, and they started having the lunch.

Jack thought that it is the time to go to hospital, so he went and said to his mother, “Mom, I have to go out, I will be back in few hours.”

“Where are you going?”

“Exams are coming, I need to go and buy some books.” Jack said smiling.

“I completely forgot about your exam, here is some money go and buy the books.” Mary gave Jack 1500 rupees.

“Wait, I will go as well.” Eve shouted.

Jack and Eve left the house and headed towards the city hospital.
