A random mosquito's POV:
************************************************************************
‘De....... Deli........... Deliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicious.'
That red head's blood is sooo delicious. Tomorrow I am definitely going for his blood. Ok, now that I am full and am barely able to fly, I should take a rest on the wall. Aahhhh, this is bliss. Nothing beats lazing after a meal. I have sampled blood of all human's and that red head scored highest. I have to let my sister know about this fact.
Splat!
What was that? (Looking all over the place for the source) Hmmm, where's the red head? I am pretty sure he was standing there right now. By the way, is that a body lying down in the shadow just next to where the red head was? Speaking of which, isn't that the red head? Why is he lying down and in a shadow at that? I can't see any girl under him. Is he ditching his patrol duty and sleeping? Lazy bastard.
Just a minute, is that... blood under his head? Noooooo my delicious food source. What a waste. Hold on, why there is blood? The pool is getting bigger and he is also not moving. Is he dead? How? I don't see anyone. Did he commit suicide?
Splat!
That sound again. Who is it this time? Searching, searching, searching..... Ah found it. This time the guy guarding the entrance is lying down. From pool of blood under his head, I am guessing he is also dead. What's happening to my food sources?
Hmmm, that's odd. I don't remember seeing those two human. One has a blond hair and other one has black. Yeah I know I know, that they are not the only black hair and blond hair around here. But the odd thing is...... How should I put it....... they are cold. I mean my heat sensors are barely picking up their body heat. Are they even human? Are their blood tasty? Ah shit, I am so full now. I can't even sample their blood.
The blond hair is carrying a...... That's a long ass gun! Wait a minute..... I remember that gun. That guy.... what was hair color again....... Ah shit I forgot since his blood wasn't delicious..... Anyway the guy on over watch duty had that sniper with him. Don't tell me.... THAT BLOND HAIR STOLE THAT RIFLE!? Oy blond hair, didn't your parents teach you stealing is bad?

Blond hair ditched the rifle, took out a shiny sword and stopped before the entrance. Okay now what? You are not gonna enter? Forgot your keys? Dumbass. Hmmm, where's the black hair? I can swear he was just there. Oh there he is, just entered the building through the window on the far left. When did he get there? More importantly, why is he entering through the window? Guess I will go and see.
Phew, finally I have reached the window. That took a great deal of energy. Now where is that black hair, searching, searching, there in the shadow. Wow, the black hair is like a ninja. Even I had trouble finding him. I see three bandit is talking merrily among themselves. Most likely they have not seen the black hair enter.
Black hair threw two throwing knives. Without waiting for the knives to reach their targets he jumped out of shadow and started running. The one looking at his direction easily saw him and was just going to warn his companions. To his surprise, two knives pierced his companion's necks and both of them fell to the ground, dead. He got dumbfounded for a moment from this bizarre events. Within that moment, he had a knife pierce his throat.
Black hair retrieved the throwing knives and proceeded to door on the far right where the blond hair was. He killed every bandit on his way in the same manner. Throw knives, startle them and in the midst of confusion kill the other. Quite efficient, I daresay.
Ground floor is clear. Black hair opened the door and let the blond hair in. both proceeded to the stairs. This building has three more floors. The black hair alone has wiped out a whole floor. Let's see what both of them can do.
Black hair's tactics remained same. Blond hair's tactic is closely similar to the black hair. He is also throwing knives. But as he has a sword instead of knife, he is beheading them. They cleared the whole two floors without raising a single alarm. But boys, next floor belongs to the boss. He is no push over. He is an evolved who controls fire at his whim.

Black hair opened the door silently, one knife ready in his hand. Surprisingly, this floor is a big rectangular room. No separating walls, no pillars. At the opposite end, boss is standing there, facing away from the door, looking at two girls chained to the wall.
"Tomorrow. Tomorrow I am gonna swim in riches ladies. Ohhhh, I am so excited."
"Hmph, keep dreaming."
"Oh it's no dream girls. It's fact. After all, she's your mother."
"Which is why she will send people to kill you, not hand over our money."
"Tsk tsk. I know you are still young. So you don't understand the heart of a mother. A mother will bet her own life, defy anyone, do absolutely anything to protect her children. She won't send a single people after my head. After all, her precious daughter's life is at stake."
"Like I said. Keep dreaming."
"And like I said, you are still young. Well I guess I can let you in on my secret. Listen carefully. After tomorrows exchange, I won't hand you over then and there. We will retreat to a safe distance, then let you go. After that, you think I will stick around and wait till your mom send guards? No. I will take all the money and leave these fools to die. With that money, I am set, at least for two or three years."
Two girl's bit their lips. If the boss has thought this far ahead, it's impossible for Alice to save them and keep their money. They didn't have that much money during their travel. Alice must have requested rest of the money over sat phone. No doubt they will go bankrupt. Tears threatened to spill from their eyes. If only they were stronger, this would not have happened.
The boss seemed to be having fun in their predicament. He leaned closer to one of the girl.
"Wanna be my woma...(clink) what the?"(Sound of steel hitting concrete)
Boss immediately turned around to see another knife aimed at his throat. He dodged and threw a fire lance to the direction from where the knife came. Seeing that stealth is no longer an option, black hair opened the door and both dodged the lance.
"So you are the one that bitch sent to kill me? Back off or they will die."
Boss pointed a fire lance to the girls' direction and threatened. However, neither the black hair nor the blond hair spoke a single word. Black hair took out an edged boomerang with six blades and threw it. Blond hair also took out some knifes and threw them.
"Shit" boss cancelled his lance and dodged the projectiles. However the black hair was not letting him rest. He kept throwing projectiles and the boss kept dodging them. In the meantime, blond hair ran up to the girls, cut the chains with his sword and gestured to the corner.
Boss and black hair was throwing projectiles at other and dodging projectiles thrown by other. Boss was hit by some knives but only some scratch.
"Stay still you slippery bastard. Stay still so I can roast you and feed you to the wol-aaaaaaaahhhhhhh...... my haaaaand."
Boss's right arm was flying in an ark. Behind boss stood the blond hair still in a pose when he cut the hand. Boss turned around and was about to impale the blond hair with a fire lance. Black hair didn't let up this chance and pierced his neck cleanly, killing him.
Seriously? All my food source gone? Just like that? Just by two people? Well no use crying over spilled milk. I guess I have to find some new food source tomorrow.

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).

Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
