《Rain Revert (Reboot)》Volume 2 Chapter 23

V2 Chapter 23
A significant portion of their forces was now focused on Lafetti who was trying to kill the Goblin Champion as soon as possible. It seems like she also shared the same thoughts with Rain.
However, with the Goblins number and somewhat higher level equipment and weapons than the previous wave, she was having a hard time breaking out from the horde as well, much less focus on the Goblin Champion.
In fact, stopping the other Goblins from disturbing Granite’s battle was already too much to handle. One reason was, of course, the horde’s number which was clearly much more than the previous wave. If the wave before was just around a hundred heads, this time’s wave was more than that, and perhaps at least double the number.
Furthermore, even though their strength was somewhat enhanced by the first wave’s rewards, but the magic power and stamina they had used in the previous fight had yet to completely recover—it's not like this is a game with an auto-recovery the moment one level's up, or succeed on the first trial.
Now, aside from Rain whose recovery speed in this situation is like injecting himself with drugs, Lafetti, and the others were actually slowly feeling their magical energy being consumed rapidly. Scarlet, especially, as of now, she could only fight using combat arts more often than using magic… trying to recover as much magical energy as possible and conserved them.
No matter how strong and powerful they were, their strength still drastically reduced from having to fight so much for a long time. Therefore, the group were tied down from crowds of enemies, much harder than before- completely being pressured against the enemy's large number.
Still, no matter how many they killed, there is no sign of monsters stop appearing.
More and more Goblins arrived, and Rain and the others started to feel anxious.
Is there really no end to this?
At this moment--
“Lafetti, Granite… come back! I’ll do some cleaning!”
Seeing their increasingly desperate situation, Rain finally decided to do something.
His magic power surge nonstop and electric sparks started appearing around him. Even the atmosphere in the area seemed to have gotten even more tense.
Compared to the rest of the group, he might not have the greatest and biggest mana pool, but because of the numerous skills he possesses and was using them instead of magic, he was the one who had consumed the least amount of magic power, and still has a lot to burn. Because of that, he can use wide-scale magic without a problem.
“… …”
Lafetti and Granite who heard his voice immediately understood what he wanted to do the moment they saw him, and feeling the increasingly surging magical power, their expression, as well, turned serious. And immediately, they obeyed and turned around.
Leaving with blood and flesh on their way, they returned to his side.
Rain looked at the horde of monsters. Goblins already amounted to perhaps, over a hundred already, and still growing more, flooding the entire mausoleum.
As long as I can diminish their number, I'm prepared to lose an arm or two.
Rain gritted his teeth as he resolves himself. He felt his growing Magic Power flowing through his body. An electric spark flashed fleeting in his eyes, and they then started glowing with pale bluish light.
The wind around him started to blow violently after hearing his call, and Lafetti hurriedly conjured a water barrier around her, Granite and Scarlet, as well as the Ant Queen’s minions such as the Ant General, too, whom had hurriedly gathered behind the barrier.

“You better run now, little bastards… even this, I can’t fully control.”
Rain growled, as he, like always, started floating in the ground, the wind pushing him from the ground, as if trying to put him into a pedestal.
When the Goblins who couldn’t understand what was happening, or were they just that stupid, look at him in horror without running away. And that spells their doom.
Flash, and a roar.
“Ahhh….!!”
Rain spread opens his arms and roared loudly in the midst of the heavy and violent tornadoes and lightning bolts that had appeared out of nowhere.
At first, it was working smoothly, with all his practice up until now, his mastery, as well as the calming effect of the Gemstone Necklace, he was able to conjure the magic spell he had intended, making him sigh with relief.
Rain slowly conjured more magic power, as confidence rose up inside of him. Along with that, was the strengthening of the Storm's onslaught, and the wild wind that started to revolve around him.
He felt his magic power flowing through every part of his body, flowing like a torrential river.
He thought all his hard work in practicing magic finally paid off, and he was extremely excited.
But it seems like this sudden emotion made a slide on his control, and something, in some part of his body, snapped, breaking like a glass. And then, even worse followed.
The small amount of magic power he was trying to control seemed to act like beasts that finally seen freedom, charging inside of him simultaneously, instantly going out of control.
It was beyond what he was capable of controlling.
"Gaah?!!"
Now, even his handsome face was twisted out of shape due to the pain he was feeling—the side effect of him using his chaotic magic. It's like something is being ripped apart inside of him. It hurts so much, Rain almost turned insane.
The lightning which coiled around him seemed to be multiplying which made him adapt an extremely terrifying appearance.
Crackle, booom!
A lightning strike occurred in front of him, lightning up his face, causing it to appear even more demonic.
What’s even worse, at this moment, when Rain was finally trying to regain back his control on his chaotic magic, with the help of the gemstone and his newly enhanced physical body and attributes, he actually felt the flow of magic power inside his body, at the part located almost close to his chest started to conjure a vortex- like a whirlpool in the stormy sea, rotating in an incredible speed.
"Gyaaaa!!!" "Gaaaaah!!!" Gwaaaaah!!!"
In the wide cavern, many lightning pillars appeared, connecting the ceiling and the ground.
Those who were unluckily hit by it were scorched, burned until they were black bones left. But what’s even worse is that four pillars of wind revolving in rapid speed—tornadoes, appeared in the hall, swallowing the sarcophagus, the rocks, debris, and monsters—all that was in its way was swallowed as if these four pillars were, itself gluttonous monsters trying to devour everything.
Screams, shrieks, and explosions echoed throughout the entire hall.
Rain, with his eyes, glowing like bright stars in the dim, dark hall, seemed like a god.
Even Lafetti and the others felt somewhat startled, shock, and terrified by the torrent of power that was given off by him.
Is this Rain?
Is this his real power?
They were completely dumbfounded, and completely in shock and horror.
Aside from that one time when he was using his magic a few months ago, he had never once again used magic in front of them. At least, not as large-scale as this. He feared hurting them and the village. Though they thought it would be okay, and even tried to encourage him. But thinking now, if this kind of power were set free in the village, what kind of destruction would they create?

Thinking about it, Lafetti and the others could not help but felt somewhat apprehensive.
Rain had never in control of his powers. That, they always knew. But as he grows strong, it seems like he was able to, at least, display something like this. Furthermore, with the magic gemstone necklace, he was now capable of at least, safely using a portion of his true magic power.
And to think, this has yet to even show half of its true power—Rain’s Magic. Just what kind of power could it give birth to?
Fortunately, this kind of power is not directed at them. If it’s otherwise, even them, the Amani Lamians would feel a bit fearful. This is not Magic... but rather, a Calamity!
... ...
Rain felt incredible power, not only surging inside his arms but all parts of his body, the strong flow of magic circulating from the top of his head to the extremities of his fingers, until the sole of his feet.
It’s as if this kind of energy flowing into him if manifested into the world, would certainly possess enough power to flatten a small mountain in an instant.
This kind of influx of magic power, how could he endure the pain from it?
If not for the fact that his body had been strengthened continuously, his body would have imploded with this amount of magic power!
Furthermore, at the center of this vortex, as the magic power from all parts of his body congealed together, an azure crystal is actually seemingly trying to appear…however, it was too illusory, too blurry, it doesn’t seem real.
Although this golden crystal appeared, it only stayed for a few seconds before disappearing, immediately breaking down, and scattering like fine sands in the air. And when it did, it was also the time when his magic power was cut off, his magic stopping along with the terrible storm he had created.
And he started falling like a leaf fallen from a branch.
… …
The storm lasted for a few minutes before slowly disappearing, regaining its original calm.
Though the hall was almost destroyed, and large boulders had fallen on the ground. But give it to the Dungeon, to think that even with the storm’s onslaught, it still didn’t cave in.
It seems like what Lafetti and the others said about Dungeons having auto-recovery and walls and ceiling made from nigh-indestructible materials despite its old, and tattered appearance that seems to be on the verge of breaking down, was true. That’s why Rain was assured he could go all out, or at least, display his power as much he could.
*Ding! Ding! Ding!
A chiming noise like a bell sounded loud, making him jump in surprise.
“Ah…!?”
Suddenly, before he could react, he found himself immersed in a clear blue pillar of light.
Because of how dazzling it is, the surrounding in his vision blurred steadily. Fortunately, it was only for a moment, as it immediately subsided. However, after regaining his bearing, blue colored message boxes appeared one after another in front of his retina.

Ode to Freud
For those who do not understand the reference, "wish fulfillment" is before anything a term created by Sigmund Freud in the 1900's. In psychology it is a state of satisfying unconscious needs and desires by the use of fantasy and delusion. In literature it is the very base of fictional work, but also the name of a style of writing where the author sacrifices the key elements of good storytelling in order to fulfill his own psychopathic, neurotic or perverse needs and desires, usually through the use of the characters in weird and forced situations. What I meant by the title of this story is that it is a trashy, badly written, shitty story about me getting some wish fulfillment by the use of some characters and a fictional world of my creation. Not the good kind of fulfillment, since my wishes are of the bad kind and I intend to fulfill those, not yours. Also, being a total amateur and not writing a proper plot before starting are two big indicators that this story is going to go bad. I guess Royal Road call this kind of stories the "Mary Sue" kind. So, unless you are a very ugly piece of trash (at least as much as I am) don’t bother reading it. Now, if you ARE messed up on the level of a clinically depressive, lightly suicidal, lolicon/shotacon aligned morbidly obese hikikomori vermin who sold his virginity to a prostitute and is currently living at the costs of his widowed mother after expending all the money he got from his father’s inheritance, all the while masturbating furiously to beast/furry dickgirl hentai, then be welcomed. Please feel free to get a serving at my antidepressants and also at the canned tuna I have stored in the fridge. There may be some cheese somewhere, and I am pretty sure I bought some juice the other day, but I have no idea where it is. Anyway. You may dislike what I write because of all the amauteur(ish) writing, or you may not. Who knows. Give it a try and write a comment. It gets lonely writing to no one. Also, feel free to grant me inspiration not only by making comments about the world and/or characters, but specially by suggesting a music for me to listen while I write the next chapter. Be warned : I do get influenced easily by the background music I listen while writing. If you exist, of course. I'm seriously doubting anyone has read anything after the "lolicon hikikomori" thing. Also, I have a tiny dick.Just so you can feel better about yourself a little more. Or maybe I have just degraded psychologically a little more and now I am into shame-play. I wonder if the psychiatrist would increase my meds a bit if I told her about it.Hope I never get to penispanick, though! Self-mutilation, especially of the castration type, would be baaaad. After all, I do like my prostitutes. And having sex with them when I can afford it. Oh, yeah, the story. I will just write the first chapter in a few moments.Until later, b(i)each.
