V2 Chapter 17

The time that seemed to have stopped between them had once again started moving. And the noise of the battlefield, along with a series of explosions, cries and screams once again reached their ears.

Turning towards Granite and Scarlet's direction, they saw that the Lamian and the Ant Queen had already re-engaged with the Goblin Champion, fighting a fierce battle. Granite taking the offense, while Scarlet for support.

The Lamians would not care about fighting, as they can be said to be a race born for fighting. Therefore, they would not really care if the fight continues a bit longer since they already know that the Goblin Champion’s defeat is already at hand.

“Indeed, let’s stop messing around, and finish this fight already. We don’t know what this Dungeon would do the next moment, it’s better to be on the safe side.”

“Lafetti, and Granite, you both be the attacker. Try to kill the Goblin Champion as soon as possible. No more playing around this time…as for me, I’ll stick around, and do as I see fit. After launching the Water Serpent towards the monster, Lafetti immediately rushed towards it as well. Seeing Lafetti’s attack as a signal, Granite also shouted, and performed a Shield Bash, carrying her beloved tower shield in front of her.

The Goblin Champion smacked one of the Water Serpent with its weapon, while evaded the other with its incredible speed that overwhelmed Rain a while ago, which is completely unexpected with its build.

However, seeing Lafetti’s charge once again, the monster recognized her with the berserking Lamian a while ago, and let out a ground-shaking roar before breathing out a blinding jet of fire.

It seems like it had recognized Lafetti as the berserking Lamian that had trashed it around just a few minutes as ago since its expression more solemn than usual, and its glare much fiercer, full of hate and anger.

But still, it can even do that?! Rain and Granite widened their eyes in surprise. A fire-breathing Goblin?! What the hell is wrong with this monster?

But now that her mind was as clear as spring water, she fully felt the impact of its attacks. She even felt her internal organs shook, and all the bones of her body creaked in pain.

“Gaah!?” now she understands completely why, Granite was having a hard time.

The weapon the monster is using is a very high-level artifact!

And from what Lafetti could see, the monster’s evolution was influenced by the weapon, hence, its abnormality.

Her base power was more than normal Killer Ants. And with an added boost of being a Blessing Holder, her original base stats were higher than even strengthened ones, and hence, she was far stronger than any normal monsters, much less a Goblin and a Goblin Elites.

Her strength and toughness were even comparable to that of Granite. Her arms now covered by beautiful, ruby-like scales were blazing in extra hot flames. She looked as if she was wearing a beautiful crimson armor as her entire body was covered by red crimson scales. She torn apart monsters with bare hands, and even burn them with flames. Still, despite being so powerful, she was still being pushed back, and now she was almost at the place where Rain and the others were fighting.

The Goblins keep coming as if they were endless, as if cheating, one can even see as they spawned in an empty place.

Rain and the others also felt the urgency of their battle. But the Goblin Champion is just too strong. No, rather too tough. As sparks flew off the two weapons, the monster’s weapon hit the floor only a few centimeters away from Lafetti. It dug a huge hole into the ground with an explosion-like sound effect. When the Goblin Champion was about to slash down his weapon again, Granite appeared in front of Lafetti, and block the attack with her shield. This time, with her recovered magic power, she was able to easily stop the Goblin’s attack.

Granite let out a burst of crazy laughter, as she pushed the shield forward.

Her sudden burst of strength startled the monster. She then followed it with her battle axe, hacking the Goblin Champion violently.

When Granite finished her attack, Lafetti appeared beside her, while Rain was at the opposite of her. They both charged in at the same time. When the Goblin Champion saw them charging, it let out a roar, and hurriedly swept its arms towards them.

But suddenly, at this time, a golden light flashed between Granite and Lafetti, and two exquisite throwing knives suddenly appeared before the Goblin Champion. One of them struck its throat, and the other pierced through its chest.

This sudden unexpected attack stopped the Goblin Champion’s intending attack, as it couldn’t help but cried out from the sudden pain. Lafetti glanced back, and saw Rain holding out another knife in his hand, and smiled faintly.

It had reached the Goblin Champion’s eyes in the blink of an eye!

However, this time, the Goblin Champion was much more vigilant, and let out a roar in anger. It then raised its hand to obstruct the knife. The knife struck his hand, penetrated deep into the flesh of his hand.

However, the Goblin Champion simply waved his arm, knocking the lightning bolt down without any problem. Even the rock spikes that Granite fired, as well as the Bone Spikes that Rain had summoned, was reduced into splinters. To think it even has a strong magic defense! Rain furrowed his brows in annoyance.

Since his Lightning Bolt was not the only one who slapped away as if it was nothing, as even Lafetti’s Water Magic and Granite’s Earth Magic was ignored completely. No, judging from the fact that Scarlet didn’t even damage it with her flames when she was fighting it with Granite a while ago, it should be concluded that one of the Goblin Champion’s innate powers is its incredibly high magic defense.
