《Rain Revert (Reboot)》Chapter 66

Chapter 66
Rain’s eyes narrowed. It seems like Threia’s assumption is not just mere speculation.
If that’s what my Magic is, then wouldn’t it be worthless if I can’t even control it?! It wouldn’t be my Magic anymore… just what is going on?
[Master, I’m very relieved that you are fine, but wouldn’t the priority be to heal your wounds first before thinking about some other things?]
Rain scratched his cheek with a wry smile after hearing Sylphy’s worried voice. He took a small blue clay bottle from his bag and drunk it. He really didn’t like the taste of a Healing Potion. He couldn't help but cringe in the bitterness of the taste. It felt like a veggie juice, which was mixed with a bitter gourd. Though, if he tried to sweeten it by adding fruit juice or honey, it would affect the efficacy and reduce the effectiveness of the potion instead. So, for anyone who prefers efficiency, it was not advisable…
If only he could find something that is sweet and flavourful but wouldn’t affect its efficacy…
Rain looks around. The entire surrounding had become messy debris, and even a large crater could be seen around him. The monsters wiped out with nothing to leave behind. Not even a carcass… just how strong was the Magic?
“Ding! Ding! Ding!”
Rain who was entranced by the destruction he had created suddenly heard a notification sound. It was coming from his phone. With a wry smile, he took out and saw several messages appearing on the screen. As expected-
[Rain. Are you okay? What’s that explosion about? –Zarda.]
[Rain, is that you? Are you okay?—Lafetti.]
…and almost similar messages from Drova, Stagna, and the others appeared. It was one of the Phone’s incredible uses that connect the minds of people with the phone through a telepathic link. Hence, Rain and those he had registered through the contact list can easily contact him, whenever and wherever. There was a cost, however, but the magic consumption is barely negligible so it was actually not a problem at all.
It’s greatly efficient and much easier to use than the Skill [Telepathy], as there was no clear limit range, and even barely noticeable by any magic detection skill or tools.
It's an incredible function that made him always connected with other people and can use it to communicate with them no matter when and where they are.
“I’m fine. I’m just practicing my Magic… and as usual, I bum it,”
[Magic… that’s pretty loud for a Magic practice—Zarda.]
“I know, but I can’t help it. It’s too hard to control my Magic, and that no matter what I did, it always ends up a disaster.” Rain smiled wryly.
[You’re fine, right?—Zarda]
[You’re not in the village, Rain?—Lafetti.]
“Well, yeah, I’m fine."
Somehow...
Rain also replied to Lafetti's message.
"Hm, strolling around the area. I’ll be back after a while,”
Rain took a rest while conversing with the Lamians using his Smartphone. Due to his injuries, even with the help of a Healing Potion, it would still need quite a while to fully recover. In fact, he was even using his skill [Photosynthesis], one that he had acquired after eating plant-type monsters.
It's an ability that increases his stamina and health recovery by absorbing sunlight just like plants. Though it’s a bit inferior to skills like Increase Regeneration, or any kind of Healing Regeneration Skills, still, he was thankful he had acquired this strange ability. He was not good at healing magic, and without any healing skill, this was a heaven-sent skill for the current him.

The area was peaceful.
Because of his magic attack, the monsters seemed to be scared of the place and made their best to avoid it, causing his rest to be undisturbed. Although he wanted to proceed, the pain in his body has yet to completely subside. The muscle strain especially was painful.
Without anything to do, he opened the chat log he had joined for fun a few days ago and posted a picture of the Goblins he had taken a while ago. This chat log was, of course, connected to the other world; Earth, through an unknown power.
【Fantasy Delusions】 】Came to the other world accidentally, and now I’m having fun【 【What should I do next?】

Another day in another world. Hello guys, how are you? Me, strolling in the forest alone and suddenly encountered a group of goblins, lol. They look ugly and scary, and they have good equipment for mere goblins.
[Picture posted]
Can someone call the Goblin Slay*r?! XD hehehe!
Anonymous
Ex, you appeared again lol. And what’s this picture? CG? Nevertheless, you’re quite consistent with your setting, that’s amazing...in some strange way. So what would be the topic today? Goblins?
Anonymous
Oh? Welcome back Ex. That’s one good, interesting image. Though, reading the exif. The time and location information, everything is, like before, still corrupted. Kudos for your effort as always Ex. [Thumbs up!]
Anonymous
Wait… why do I feel as if the picture you posted is real? How the hell did you make that? Are you a member of some movie production company?
I_hexa
I have been waiting for you, Ex. I tried asking a friend of mine to validate the picture you had posted before, and my friend said that it’s real. It’s not edited, how the hell did you make it look so real?
Anonymous
@I_hexa, no offense dude, but try to brace yourself lol. You’re getting into this too much. It would be dangerous if you suddenly started to claim that he was telling the truth—I might actually need to call another ambulance. That’s a waste of money, so please try to help yourself lol
Anony-lous
One vote for the one upstairs. Though, as the title of the page [Fantasy Delusion] please try not to take everything said on this page at face value. Advice from a good samaritan.
Anonymous Transmigrator EX
But I’m saying the truth though, lol. However, I still yet to see the outside world even though I already came into this world for a few months already, so those who were asking before what kind of world this is, I'm sorry I can't give an answer for now. Aside from not being interested in leaving, I’m stranded in this dangerous cave.
Anonymous
Ex, if you are telling the truth… how can you connect to the internet in the first place?
Anonymous Transmigrator EX
I don’t know. I don’t have a computer with me if that’s what you’re asking. I’m using my smartphone. And for some reason, it’s connected to the internet with my Magic Power.
Anonymous
Waaaaaah!!! He said Magic Power, lol. Fantasy! Fantasy! Does it mean Ex can use Magic?!
Anonymous
He’s delusional!
Anonymous
This is starting to get interesting. It’s as if you are really in another world, lol. I'm starting to believe this... scary. What's happening to me?!
IbeatThanos
Don't make it complicated, please!
Anonymous
Now, wait. Ex is kind enough to entertain us people whose killing time on the net. Let’s just ride this thread to see it. So, let’s just take this as if he indeed had gone to another world. And if he really is, I want to know how did you arrive there? Hero Summoning? Sent by Truck-kun? Reincarnated?

Anonymous Ex
I can use Magic. Though, I suck at it. I can’t control it properly, and that’s what is eating inside of me right now. Anyway, as for how I came here, actually, I was sent by Truck-kun. I think...
Anonymous
Ooooouhhh!! The usual troupe!!
17 Anonymous
I can’t believe someone said that!
Shaaapiizzee
So you are dead?
Anonymous Ex
I don’t know. Hard to say. When I woke up, I’m already in this world. No Gods or Goddess meeting or whatsoever. So that’s a minus.
I_am the Hero Knight
But you obtained a cheat, right?
Anonymous Ex
Hot damn, I did. And it’s an incredible one, though~
… …
Rain was grinning from ear to ear, completely absorbed into narrating his experiences in the Desolate Cave.
Actually, it was an incredible surprise that he was able to connect to the internet and still able to communicate with other people in the previous world. Although direct emails, messages and calls, and such were impossible, at the very least, he can communicate in the comment section of any website, or using threads like this.
For fun, Rain tried creating a thread once. He was called delusional or doing drugs at first, but nevertheless, there were still many people that goes along with him. Though, he still withheld much sensitive information. Hence, even now there are still many people who didn’t believe him, and he was not too keen to persuade them to believe him either.
He was just having fun with these guys, and also, at the same time, trying to get in touch with the world because there are some benefits that he would be able to take advantage of in the long run. He even went into faceb**k and twit**r and visit uncle Glen’s page, but he seemed to be quite doing well. Though, it's quite painful when there was nothing that relates to him, such as him looking around for him or something like that. However, since he felt it was best this way, he can only feel happy about it.
In addition, he didn’t try to make himself known, especially by them.
If he truly died in that world then so be it. Let him stay dead. In any case, returning now is impossible. And that, it would only make Uncle Glen and Mother Superior worry for him. Although he wanted to see them or at least, even talk to them, being transported into another world itself is a dangerous and troublesome matter.
Whether they believe it or not, it would just cause them more troubles...especially now that he cannot go over and help them if something indeed happens because of him. Hence, he was back to usual--stalking through faceb**k and twi**er, and any other social media web. Knowing them fine and safe, made him relieve and able to live life in this world much better.
Well, on the other hand, he had found a liking to talking with these people about his experiences in this magical world. And this eventually becomes a new hobby for him, or a kind of entertainment when he was bored or he has nothing to do.
"...really, the monsters here are scary and very strong lol. I think a single goblin is comparable to a hidden boss, lol,"
Rain spent his rest while chatting using the thread. Sometimes, he just can’t help but laugh at other people’s responses. Although there were still haters, most of them were actually good people who just seems like they didn’t have anything to do at all and was just playing along with him.
… …
“Sylphy, let’s try another time… this time, you’ll do the calculation,”
“As you wish, Master,”
Even after failing big time, Rain was not one to easily give up. While walking around, wandering inside the forest, he was practicing his magic. Though, to reduced power and with Sylphy’s support this time, especially in the calculation aspect for his Magic Power.
Sylphy was the one controlling the circulation of his magic power, and he had found it, working better than when he did it alone. However, only to some extent. The greater the magic power used, the harder it is for even Sylphy to control. But at the very least, Sylphy was clearly much better at it than him.
Rain was in charge of the image, while Syphy was in charge of the operation of magic power inside of him. It's some kind of combination process between them.
“Let’s start with something simple… Water Ball!”
After Rain extended his right hand and chanted, he felt something circulating inside of him. And a feeling of something coming out from his body occurred. A small spark flared at the edge of his fingers. The spark crackled to life and formed a ball slowly as he had imagined. Immediately after, a lump of water projected forward.
His eyes sparkled brightly as he saw his magic finally taking shape. However, suddenly something occurred. As if something within him had flooded out, and then, within moments, the water ball erupted into a torrential wave of water that had flooded the surroundings. Fortunately, the magic consumed was weaker than usual, and the damage he had caused was not great.
Even still, his body from head to toe was drenched, as if he had just suffered a violent shower.
“…Well, that went well,” his smile turned bitter as he stared at his dripping clothes.
[Master, your magic reserve is running low. Using Magic now is unadvisable]
“That mu—achooo?!”
Rain sneezed, feeling the now cold season through his drenched body.
Was it because I had just cast that terrifying lightning bolt, that my magic power is running low?
Well, whatever, if magic power is low, even my vitality and immunity will also weaken.
That’s what Zarda and Threia said, so as much as possible Rain was forbidden to deplete his magic power.
Since his body is starting to feel heavy, Rain immediately went into meditation. This action allows the user to restore his mana faster without using any spell.
Normally, mana recovers naturally with the passing of time. And that’s because people unconsciously absorb mana from the air and converts it to suit them and their attribute. Meditation allows one to do it intentionally to make it happen faster and sooner. And the only way to do it intentionally is by relaxing in order to sense the mana in the air with his body first and then slowly absorb it.
Absorbing mana is too hard for a beginner in magic, and only elites could do it. However, Rain was different. With Sylphy’s support, he was able to immediately sense mana and able to acquire the skill [Meditation] immediately. Hence, it was not a problem for him.
Eventually, he got the hang of it even without Sylphy’s help.
Mana. A Magical Energy. He immediately felt its existence. It’s overflowing in the air; like a fog of mana brushing his body. Mana in the air is different from the energy that can be found within a living being... in fact, it's also different from the energy used to cast Magic.
Mana is universal energy, consisting of all the elements found in the world. To absorb it, one must convert it first to suit the attribute of that individual—and when you successfully do it, the Mana will be then called [Magic Power]. [Magic Power] is the energy that is used to cast a spell, and use magic.
[Mana Perception has been learned!]
As Rain meditated to recover his Magic Power, suddenly a notification took his attention.
Mana Perception?
[Mana Perception enables the user to perceive the surrounding magical energy. The higher the level, the better one can perceive the magical energy of the world. It can even also be used to eliminate blind-spots by perceiving the magical power around you!]
So it’s an incredible skill…?
[Yes, Master. It’s a skill that is a must-have for an elite Mage. It helps the user to perceive mana easily and without any problem. Furthermore, it also enhanced Mana absorption speed, by making Master aware of the energy in his surroundings. Aside from that, it also helps enhance the ability of the Master to control his Magic Power, causing you to be able to cast Magic much easier and smoothly than before.]
“So you are telling me with this new skill, I would then be able to control my magic?” somewhat interested, he asks. A bit hopeful.
[...Well, Master's problem is strange...so I can't really make an accurate answer. However, this skill can at least raise the probability of your chances to cast proper Magic.]
Rain smiled at her answer. His eyes sparkled. Indeed, with the newly learned skill, all his senses seemed to have increased once more, becoming even sharper. He was even now capable of feeling the magic power around him as if a beautiful spectrum of light was covering the land.
When he tried to move his Magic Power, he felt it moving and flowing smoothly inside of him than before, like water flowing through a river with little rocks or boulders obstructing in front. Though, for some strange reason, at his chest, where Magic Power was gathered, it's like a turbid of muddy water that was dense and sticky that it was hard to make it move.
What is this?
The Magic Power that he was able to move smoothly on his veins was just a minuscule amount and seemed to be one that he was able to squeeze out from it. Perhaps this is the reason why he was unable to completely control his Magic?
Because of how dense his Magic Power was, he was unable to control it, and if ever he forced it, it will instead cause a violent reaction inside of him, exploding like a bomb.
This kind of density in Magic Power, inside an innate Magic Being, would not pose a problem. In fact, would even help make that magical being becoming extremely powerful. However, for a human, it was a disaster. The Magic Veins between the two races are different, where human has the thinnest, while Magic Being’s has the widest, hence the latter was able to let Magic Power flow through them without a problem.
Although Rain, after his awakening was able to widen his Magic Veins, one that is much better than normal humans, however, it was only better by a bit. With how dense his Magic Power is, their improvement is still insignificant!
[Master, I run through analysis of your Magic Power, now and the previous times. Something is indeed causing a disturbance, once Master Magic Power reached a certain threshold. Thus, causing magic operation to fail.]
Disturbance...?
Sylphy slowly explained her conjecture to him. She said that whenever he tried to cast a spell with large Mana consumption, the dense Magic Power he had would have a hard time flowing through his thin and narrow Magic Veins smoothly, and would instead be clogged, blocking its path. This will cause an explosion, causing his Magic to get out of control when forced.
This Magic Power should not be innate as it would not make sense with his current level. However, it should be the effect of his Awakening, with the added factor of his curse and mark that was left behind by an unknown Monster or Being inside of him, changing his Magic Power to that of a Magical Being rather than human. Furthermore, his precious skill [Predation] that let him accumulate and obtained Magic Power from eaten monsters, despite having his Mana Veins blocked. It accumulated over time, changing, transforming into its current state.
Well, the former has a high chance of possibility, but the latter should be the main cause.
[Predation] is an ability that gave him power that is beyond human capability. But this excessive power had also become detrimental for his still, currently weak physique!
With Rain finally enhanced his perception of Mana with the use of the newly obtained skill, Sylphy was able to further confirm her suspicion. After all, despite how outstanding she was, her ability is still a reflection of what Rain possesses. She can control his Magic Power before, but for the true situation of his Mana Core and Operation, she would have a hard time analyzing it accurately, unless she has a method to completely understand the state of his mana veins and magic power.
It's like, knowing how to operate a processing machine, but unable to see what was happening inside. It’s not like Magic Power has a tangible form like blood that she can easily check and inspect using his brain as a medium. But with the new skill, it’s as if, something had opened inside of her, something that was previously locked but now was made accessible for her.
It widens her area function.
It seems like Rain’s awareness in Mana and Mana Operation had been increased since he had finally obtained such an incredible skill on his own. This must be the effect of his hard work up until now- from his Meditation, Magic Training, and also using Magic Power in Alchemy and Blacksmithing, greatly honing his mastery over it.
[…Although the limit is erratic, and there are still some calculations needed, I should be able to draw safe parameters for you to be able to use Magic properly. Adjusting your Magic Power to, at the very least, let Master cast basic Spells. However, beyond Intermediate Rank Spells would be impossible. The stronger the Magic Power used, the higher the chances of it losing control.]
Now, after learning the true cause of it, Sylphy was able to come up with several solutions. Though it would not perfectly solve the issue, still, it will give him time to master it, until the time when he would be able to control it without any support.
As long as Rain continues his training and practice, Sylphy was confident that his Mana Veins would surely, and slowly widened up and become even tougher to accommodate his thick and dense Magic Power.
“Whatever the case, I leave it to you, Sylphy. I don’t know what kind of thing is this Magic of mine, but I sure not want it to stay unbridled for long.” he said with a satisfied smile.
As long as he has Sylphy, he has nothing to worry about. That's what he felt.

The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle.
