《Witch's pet》CHAP 10: Goblin slaughter part 2
Advertisement
I hate this world! I have 52 mp and my silent spellcasting requires an extra 30%mana, which means I can use spells that require at most 40mp. And I have never used, in my previous life, any spell under the 100mp requirement. If i knew that one day I would have to deal with such a tiny mana pool, i would have learnt weaker spells.
Well there is no use crying over spilled milk. I'll find some spellbooks in Lein's house or the library. I wonder how wild amethyst cats learn spells. Maybe the elders teach the youngs.
Lein casually crossed the now silent ice-covered battlefield, or slaughter considering how one-sided it was, and petted me.
"Good boy!"
I'm not a dog.
"Now we have to finish off the ones hiding in that cave."
We came back to the burning village, the still dancing flame greeted us with a loud crack and collapsed shacks. Lein grabbed a few piece of unburnt wood and placed them in front of the cave. I helped gather a bit of extra with telekinesis. Lein then took A halfburnt piece of hay, ignited it on one of the fires ans threw it on top of the wood pile. Black smoke erupted from the now burning wood and entered the cave. Goblin's lungs are pretty weak so I'm sure they'll come out or die fom intoxication.
And sure enough, goblin's started to pour out of the cave, their eyes were red from the smoke and more than a few had burns from the village attack. Lein skewered a few of them with ice bolts as I tripped one in the fire. The four remaining ones had the time to get past us. They growled at Lein and grabbed whatever they could use as a weapon, namely a burning piece of wood, a rock, a spear broken in half and what looked like a terribly maintained frying pan.
I dashed toward them and, once in range, used telekinesis to smash the goblin's face with his own rock. I pounced on the stunned greenskin and tore the back of his neck with my fangs.
Your target suffer 38 sharp damage. Your target is dead.
Lein started chanting and the other goblins charged her. I took the opportunity to jump on the back of the pan-wielding one and clawed furiously.

Your target suffer 47 sharp damage. Your target is bleeding profusely.
Lein finished her chant and pierced the chest of the two other goblins with small ice bolts. A third one was aimed at the one i backstabbed, but he wa already lying on the ground, bleeding to death. He died after a few seconds.
I hear small footsteps coming. They are evacuating the childrens.
I growled at the cave entrance and Lein started another chant. A large scale one, the mana condensing around her is massive. The goblin younglings came running out of the cave, with two adults armed with spears leading their desperate charge. The ice domain Lein casted stoped them right at the entrance and extinguished the fire . She then handed me the same dagger as before with a bright and completely out of context smile. After my second one-sided slaughter of the day, we entered the cave.
I used my night vision to scout the place. The cave was filled with makeshift beds made of dirty cloth and crude tools. Overall it was pretty cramped, I'm surprised so much goblins managed to live in there. Lein came in when I was checking the back of the cave, she was using some sort of lantern filled with glowing liquid. Under the light of her tool, i noticed a strange piece of cloth on the wall, I could feel some sort of putrid smell coming from behind it. I meowed to get Lein's attention and slid under the cloth. Lein followed me in a small stone tunnel.
The tunnel ended in an cave with an underground lake. In front of us five goblins were glaring the unwanted visitors we were, it seems we interupted what looks like a shamanic ceremony. Five of the goblin are wearing red, clean loincloths, the last one is covered in a black beast hide, several trinkets and baubles are hanging from his clothes and a large bear skull cover it's face. Behind them an altar is covered in meat offerings and illuminated by two braziers.
Lein dropped her lantern and threw a poisoned knife at the nearest goblin that barely dodged it. She instantly started chanting, and the goblin shaman did the same. The other greenskins took daggers out of their loincloths and charged Lein. I managed to make one of them trip with telekinesis and bite the leg of another, but the last one rushed at Lein. She fired her ice bolt at him with a displeased look, the goblin mage would soon finish chanting. The goblin mage held his hand in front of him, as if he was grabbing the air, and a large cloud of grey smoke erupted from his breath as the last word of his chant was spoken. The grey mass rushed toward Lein and grabbed her neck. The smoke strangled her, she tried to dissipate the smoke without sucess. The goblin is about to stab her with his dagger, but she's going to die from the shaman's spell anyways.

I made a quick decision, i need to kill the shaman. He is far and it'll be hard to kill him in one shot. I can't do it without gigantification, I'll have to reveal it.
I jumped on one of the downed goblins as i heard Lein grunt when she was stabbed. I pounced and triggered gigantification mid-air. The confident smile of the shaman faded as i became bigger than him. I didn't even bite him I slamed my paw full force on his head, A loud cracking noise erupted from his body as his skull and shattered spine entered his torso. Blood splattered all over the ground.
Your target suffer 156 blunt damage. A brutal blow! Your target is dead. The terrifing power you displayed has frightened nearby enemies.
The goblins stared at me with fear and incomprehension in their eyes. The shaman's death was sudden enough for them to stand agape. Lein pulled a knife from her belt and stabbed her assailant in the throat. I jumped on one of the two remaining enemies but only managed to scratch his hands when he covered his face. I wish my claws were poisonous, Lein can't hold for much longer with a hole in her guts and there is two goblins left.
I can't use gigantification, I have no mana. What do I do?
I need a plan.
I rushed through the first goblin's leg and bit the second one on the ankle, he wailed and limped away without looking where he was going. His friend warned him but it was too late, I dashed full power in his legs and pushed him with telekinesis as an extra, he fell into the lake and began wildly flailing his arms. Good thing most goblins don't learn how to swim. One left to go!
I was about to fight when the goblin's face got pierced by a large ice spike. I need to remember not to piss Lein off.
I rushed to my master side, she's already drank a health potion but I don't think it'll be enough. She can't even stand, I need to do something!
I opened her bag and rummaged through it to find something. Bandages and a bottle of antiseptic would be great, or moderately clean cloth and alcohol i guess. I splashed the alcohol on the cloth and wrapped it around her wound. She should be fine now. She crawled to the altar and sit as best as she could.
"Thank you little one, I could have died here. Oh and what the hell was that transformation before? It was so co..."
She coughed and smiled.
"It was cool."
I don't think that's the point but sure. I scanned the cave for other threats while Lein got some rest. I'm sure the rock altar isn't comfortable but I couldn't really offer better or carry her outside. Then

You can learn spell by watching peoples use them. The more you see and the more you learn about a spell will increase chance of obtention. The more complex and powerful a spell is the harder it will be to imitate. You will still need to meet the spell's requirement.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.

Birth of an AntiHero
AntiHero's FIRST REWRITE IN THE WORKS - thanks!! :] EDIT 2/28/22 - sorry, health problems right now, but I will post after rewriting the first 80-90,000 words or so and start fresh from there! Expect the change to be uploaded before summer! So long as I can keep using my hands, that is~! ^_^ X] This story will indeed get fleshed out as my vision improves for the better. But I feel the need to emphasize that a lot of parts are written in improvised comic book format as my primary writing style, and this first book is actually the entry point and starting novel for an entire very vast series I am in the works of developing. Many side characters here will eventually be main characters with there own stories; long or short. But this one particularly will be focused and centralized around Noel. Because of this, I do plan to leave the introduction for side characters as still having a special flow for readers to witness a tad of their background, so keep that in mind after my 'obviously many' rewrites from now and going into the future! Sorry for the troubles! I will improve on my style and implementation of the story!(Although I DO plan to keep parts as 'play style' or rather, comic book style, since I find it easier for certain dialogue instances as well as the fact that the novel is inspired by that 'feeling' you get while reading comic books. But my style is still evolving, you were warned!) Thank you! - Noel Tyler Malierano. He's the youngest 'son' to receive approval from 'The Malierano Family': A Criminal Organization of hitmen and hitwomen that specialize in killing, even maintaining success within a vastly superpowered society. Noel finally manages to complete his training as the newest 'Elite' killer his family created...but, there's just one problem - He doesn't want to kill! Come along and delve into a society of conflicting morals through the eyes of a boy, desperately searching for a new path to follow. Can he even manage to free himself from his father's engrained teachings and ideals? Conversely, will killing prove a lot more difficult to ignore? --- --> Thank you very much for reading! It would be helpful for me if you all consider leaving me a comment or an inbox suggestion, a review or even a full rating wherever AND whenever you believe I need to improve on anything or if something I wrote irked you! I appreciate EVERYONE that comes to read my story, however I DO want to improve my work as a writer. I hope all of you who don't like my work will let me know somehow, so I can edit and IMPROVE my story as a whole! Thank you everyone for your time! --- JUST TO NOTE!! When a character has a cultural name like, say, a Japanese or Russian name, that is because that character IS Japanese or Russian! They don't have to be FULL of one ethnicity either - sometimes they will be mixed. This story mainly takes place on an artificial continent where all countries have sent over their respective talents, meaning characters of ALL cultures and ethnic backgrounds will show hints of that in their names. Please don't assume I'm just randomly naming characters names that don't match them. And feel free to talk to me about whatever in my story troubles you - no matter how small! I love to improve. ^-^ X] --- Just to note: Characters will slowly grow as time passes. Slow pace. THANKS for reading! Enjoy! :] --- Decided to post 2 chapters every Tuesday and Friday instead of taking a small break, but I MAY upload once in a while on different days, such as Sundays, in addition to those two. :]
