Chapter 35- Intwined Fates
~ P.O.V. Of Roen ~
"Remember to not kill women or children also, find Sarah if you see her. She doesn't have a soul mark yet." I tell my servants my rules and run off. Honestly I am in need of some souls. The Madness Script and all those spells I have been using on top of both Engil and I needing souls for food; these factors are draining my reserves fast.
Then there is this Land of Sorcery that is shrouded in mystery. The unknown always makes me nervous. I need to regain some of my past strength.
I look at the village in flames and spot my target. A man with a sword was charging at some women and children. I change into the Varnus's variation and my body fills up with raw power. I rush at the man and immediately smash into him sending him flying through several buildings, sometimes this speed is hard to adjust. I shrug at my miscalculation and go to gather his soul and all the lingering souls in the area.
"P,please, help us!" A woman comes up to me with a tear stained face. It appears she thinks I'm her savior. I gave a little laugh at her foolishness and decide not to reply.
'The last thing this world need is a hero.' I think to myself as I leave the woman's plea unanswered. I move the way I desire, no one can change that.
A few minutes later and footprints of blood trail behind me. I have successfully calibrated my body to this speed. I have taken most of the souls in the area and have decided to leave the rest for Engil. That pup needs to learn how to feed himself.
'Roen we have found Sarah... We need you here now." Engil's voice held some urgency that Roen wasn't expecting leaving him to wonder what is going on.
BOOM!
Suddenly a loud explosion echoes in my ears and turning to the noise I see a white tree growing at an impossible rate. Sighing at the naivety of Sarah two black arms sprout out of my back.
Boom!
A smaller explosion occurs due to my drastic increase in speed as I push off the ground towards the white tree. I instantly appear at my destination and I see Sarah being slowly engulfed by the white tree as it extends it's branches towards the whatever it can find. Those who are caught by the white branches loose all hope of escape and the tree grows faster.

"Sarah! Please control your emotions, or else the branch of the Tree of Beginnings will consume you!" I yelled towards the Sarah currently embedded in the trunk of the tree. I know her state of mind is in chaos easily by scanning the scene. There are two bodies of dead children by the tree both of them have deep slash marks on their backs. There is a trail of blood that leads up to their positions, so I'm assuming either they ran for the help of Sarah or Sarah tried to bring them out of danger and they lost too much blood. However for an elf to lose her self control that badly, she's quite interesting.
However Sarah doesn't react to my words, and the tree keeps on sapping the life of the people it holds. So I ready myself and dodge the incoming branches. I need to reach the source. At first I try to go through with my Varnus's body, but my path is cut off from Sarah when the branches and roots block my path. The roots that have shot out from the ground curl themselves into a spear and propel themselves towards me. I couldn't react fast enough and my body is sent flying by the impact.
Boom!
My landing created a indention into the ground and several buildings were torn through. The surviving bandits and villagers were all in disarray I could see Tyor's blood vines rounding up villagers and bandits alike. I directed him earlier to keep them away from the tree.
Standing up I loosen my four shoulders and lower my body till two of my four hands are digging into the ground. My legs are storing power and my muscles are tensing. Then silver marking begin to crawl up my hands digging into the ground starting from my fingertips. Similar marks appear on my feet and I feel the weight on my body grow lighter. I adjust my aim in Sarah's direction. If I can't charge in normally then I'll break down whatever is in my path!
BOOOOOOOM!
Releasing my stored power and shooting off from my initial position the surrounding ground was instantly disintegrated. Stones turned to soil and soil fell apart at each of my steps. The roots and branches that had been in my way earlier didn't even have time to react to my speed as I passed by them in milliseconds. I could hear a sonic boom as I tore Sarah out of the tree and carefully knocked her out.

As Sarah was taken out and lost consciousness the flourishing white tree immediately started to wither and die. I felt my body begin to tire out as if all my energy had been depleted.
'I guess four is my limit huh.' Thinking this to myself I look at the white tree as it fell apart. Then I see the similarity withered bodies of those who were unfortunate enough to be taken by it. Engil was amongst them, but he had used some aura to stave off the tree.
'Now I see. Is this your will Silvia?' I laugh to myself as I stare at the unconscious Sarah in my arms. My cloth looses it's black hue and slowly turns back to white.
------------------------------------------
In front of Roen was the tied up bandits and unconscious villagers. Sarah had been incapacitated and was laid on the ground as Engil was still recovering from having his aura sucked from him. Tyor stood respectfully by Roen's side and gazed over the 15 surviving bandits as well.
Fear contaminated their eyes and their bodies shivered at the monsters standing in front of them. They were nearly wiped out by this group of four.
"W,what c,could your excellency d,desire?" The largest of the bandits spoke in a trembling voice as he glanced nervously at Roen and the destruction caused to the village.
"Tell me you're bandits right? Are you any good at what you do?" Roen asked while looking over the fifteen.
"Y,yes we are b,bandits, w,we consider ourselves g,good at what we d,do." The largest of the bandits spoke truthfully, but was still stuttering. Roen checked over them more closely this time and roved in between the men.
"Ok, you all shall be my eyes and ears. You hold no other option, those who quit shall die. I want you to find information for me. come out." At Roen's words a purple mist rolled out of his body and began to form into the shape of a man. A skinny, purple man with black and silver markings on body formed and kneeled to Roen. On the man's back was a huge blade that contained 12 markings and easily dwarfed any blade that could be wielded by men.
"Separate and inhabit these fifteen bodies. Send me everything and if they try to reveal anything about me, sever their lives." As Roen spoke the fifteen men swore in their hearts to never disobey this terrifying boy of around 16.
"Y,es." The purple man spoke in a short broken up voice that was neither pleasant nor terrible to the ear. Engil was making a fuss about wanting to talk to purply again, but Tyor shut him up by wrapping his mouth with blood vines. Then the purple man broke up into 15 separate mists.
"Do not resist." Roen warned the scared bandits before sending the mists into their bodies. The men trembled a little before black markings appeared on their skin and their eyes turned into a deep purple. Then they regained their normal features and gazed at Roen in reverence as if he was a god.
"Whatever you know carry it to your graves." Roen said and asked Tyor to release them. As soon as they were released they all darted off in different directions, each of them eager to follow Roen's will.
Sarah started to show signs of regaining her consciousness. Seeing this Roen asked Tyor and Egil to make up a story about what happened to the sleeping villager's village. Then Roen took the awakening Sarah off into a broken down house making sure he was away from any prying eyes.
"Speak, I thought you were kicked out because of stealing a branch of the Tree of Beginnings. What is your relation to Silvia?" Roen spoke as he looked deep into Sarah's eyes and pulled out a chair to sit in.
