《Music System》Chapter 7

Guy went into work once again, despite only having gone to work for a few days he already loathed it. The only redeeming facts about going to work is A. Getting money and B. Playing piano. He also enjoyed the boost of Mp that came with playing in front of an audience.

Right when he got to that point and was in the process of pumping himself up for work Guy saw a smiling Samantha. Guy walked up to the young smiling girl and once he was about four feet from her he started talking.

" Why are you the only one I ever see in here? "

" Fate. Anyway, you know how I was telling you that you should upload music onto WeStream right? "

" Yeah, why? "

" Well I did some digging into it, and I found out how you can upload music onto the site. First you have to record the audio which would require you to go to recording studio, we have one in the mall that you can rent for a few hours. Once you have the audio file recorded you have save it onto a computer. Then you go to the WeStream website where you will get the option to upload the file, once you get the option just drag the file to the upload bit. Botta Bing Botta Boom, you have your music on the internet. "

Guy seemed to think a bit before nodding.

" I appreciate that Samantha, one problem though, money. I am poor, I am also saving up for a car. So it would be quite a while before I could rent the recording booth, and afford the computer. "

" I'm not saying you should instantly take my suggestion, I am just saying that you should keep it in mind. Listen Guy, you are talented and it would be a shame if you didn't get that talent out there. Also keep in mind, that you can make money off of WeStream if you are lucky. As in literally millions of dollars. "

" I appreciate the support Samantha, I will keep your suggestion in mind. Anyway, see ya I have to get to work. "

" Yeah me to, have fun Guy. "

" You too. "

After that both of the young people left for their separate jobs, though they walked in the same general direction since their jobs are situated right next to each other.

When Guy reached his gazebo he was surprised to find that Luther wasn't there. In the end though Guy thought nothing of it and started to play once he was situated.

After about ten songs or an hour of time Luther finally showed up to the gazebo. Guy kind of wanted to talk to him since he had recently gotten close with the old fellow, but Guy was a professional and he didn't want to mingle personal affairs with his work life. So he quickly moved onto the next song, one that he knew was one of Luther's favorites. Just because he is professional doesn't mean that Guy won't play favorites a little.

Luther appreciated Guy playing one of his favorite songs and he closed his eyes and relaxed while enjoying the music.

Once the song was over Guy proceeded to play more songs, he even played a very simple song that he learned from the music books Luther sold him. Luther recognized the song and was in disbelief that Guy had managed to learn the song in less than a day. So he didn't believe it, he just wrote it off as Guy having already known the song and once again went back to relaxing.

When Guy finished his three hour shift he thanked all of the people who had been sat around the gazebo, around twenty in total, a few of them familiar faces to Guy. It seemed he had gotten a bit of reputation and more and more people were coming to the mall to see him play. Guy thanked them with a refined bow that he had learned from watching a video on WeStream. The bow wasn't required, but Guy wanted a little flamboyance.

Once he stood from his bow Guy walked up to Luther who was clapping lightly from his chair. By the time Guy reached Luther the crowd had dispersed for the most part.

" Hey Luther, want to join me for lunch? I'm thinking Chinese. "

" Sure, though I am going to stick with a sandwich, Chinese food doesn't agree with me in my old age. "

" Alright sounds good. "

After that the two stoic men silently walked to the food court. Neither of them wanted to start the conversation. It just goes to show that even different people with different lives and different ages can have similarities between them. Eventually the two reached the food court and Guy walked to " China Maximum " his favorite restaurant in the mall. Luther walked to the sandwich shop called " Sandwiches Sandwiches Sandwiches ", seems important things need to be repeated thrice.

Guy ordered a to go box with white rice, lo mein noodles, general"s chicken, and four crab rangoon. He also got a bottle of water to drink. Luther ordered an Italian sub that came with salami, pepperonis, banana peppers, tomato, mustard, mayo, onion, and toasted bread. He also got a bottle of water to drink.

The two men then sat together at the same table which was situated right in the middle of the food court, under a large skylight. The two quickly ate, also habits picked up from their past's. Luther finished his sandwich first while Guy finished maybe a minute or two after him. After that both of them sat just looking around the mall. Eventually Guy was the one to cave and spoke.

" So this young girl called Samantha suggested that I should try putting my music up on WeStream. What do you think? "

" I think it's a great idea. WeStream is an amazing platform for up and coming talents to get themselves known. It would be good for you to try it. "

" Yeah I think I will go for it. Honestly though It will probably be months before I can afford it. Samatha said that I need to rent the recording booth and then I also need to buy a computer in order to upload my songs to the internet. I want a car before I start buying niceties like a computer or stuff like that. "

" Well I have some recording booths in my store if you need to borrow one sometime. I don't know how to help with you a computer, all I could say is to save any paychecks for the car and use you tips. Another tip is that when you get a check first plan all needs that you are buy. That means gasoline, bills, maybe food. Umm, so I don't know how much your check is but chances are it will be around 700 or so dollars. Let's say that it is $716, take that $16 and save it away. Another tip is to fill up your gas tank with every paycheck. . . . Just some tips from an old soul. "

" Thanks, to be honest I would like to think I would spend my money in a minimalistic way, but I already know it'll be hard not to want to buy myself and my mom gifts. You know? "

" Yeah I get it, when I first got out of the military I would constantly spend my check on stupid stuff, always pissed my wife off. She would be the one who payed bills, and bought the important stuff while I was the fun dad. "

" You have kids? "

Luther grinned when Guy mentioned his kids, it was the only time Guy had actually seen the old man grin. Somehow Luther looked like a soft grandpa who dotes on his grandchildren but also like a scary soldier who could laugh at the heavens falling.

" Heh, yeah I have two daughters and one son. The girls own their own clothing company, you should check it out, it's called Queen's Castle. My boy is the part owner of the mall with his cousin. I gotta say I couldn't be more proud of them, they are the reason I could fulfill my dream of owning a music store. "

" They are definitely worthy of you being proud. I have too ask, why did your daughters call their shop Queen's Castle? It's a fairly odd name. "

" Well our last name is Castle and they wanted to attract women by hinting that Queen's shop at their shop. I think, it could also be them calling themselves queens, I don't know. "

" Do they have a store around here, if so I might have an idea for my mom's gift? "

" Yeah, it's on the other side of the mall I can show you if you want. "

" I can't I need to start heading back to work, how about we meet up for my second shift. "

" That works. "

After that both of the men walked away, Luther to his store Guy to his gazebo.

Guy once again started playing for three hours before he walked to Luther's store. On the way he picked up some roasted nuts which used to be one of his favorite snacks before he went to Juvy. Before Juvy though, he rarely ate them simply because of how expensive they were. They were like birthday presents for him, literally.

Guy chowed on the nuts as he walked towards the store. When he got there he saw Luther talking with a teenage mal wearing the uniform to the store.

" Yo, ready to go? "

" Yeah I was just telling Jack here where I wanted some of the new shipments to go. "

" Oh alright, I'll be on the bench over there. "

" Alright. Now I said I want the guitars on the across from the bass'es. I also want them to be ordered using the colors of the rainbow with colors not on the rainbow last. "

" I get that, but what if. . . . "

" No but's Jack, just do as I said. "

" ' Sigh ' Yes boss. "

After that Luther walked over to Guy who had stood up when he saw the older fellow walking over.

" What was that all about? Seemed pretty heated. "

" Damn young kids these days, they need to be disciplined. Always back talking, and can't just listen to orders. "

" Yeah and they are always on their phones, I don't get it. "

After that the old grumpy man and the young grumpy man went CLOTHE'S SHOPPING! They held hands and skipped along all the want there. ( Not actually. )

They angrily walked along with all of the pedestrians moving out of the way. After all Luther was a fit six foot tall man who looked like he meant business. While Guy was a beefy 5'10 man who looked like he could break your ribs with a single punch.

In reality the two of them just walked normally, they were even conversing. They just looked pissed because they had the male equivalent to resting bitch face.

After a twelve minute walk they reached two large stores. The first store was a pink and soft store that had the sign Queen's Castle above the entry way. It seemed warm and inviting.

The other store also read Queen's Castle, but it looked like dark brick and looked cold and intimidating. Guy was very curious about the store.

" Luther what's with the one brick one over there? "

" Oh that's there adult store, they sale . . . . lingerie and " adult clothes " there. "

" Oh, hehehe. You mean like leather and corsets, OOO I wonder if they have some leather thigh high boots. "

" Shhuuutttt uuupppp, let's go. "

" Hehe sure. "

When the two walked in they saw clothes of all colors and sizes and types. Shoes, underwear, shirts, jackets, all kinds of different clothes. Luther just led Guy around the store pointing out all kinds of clothes that would be a good gift for Amelia. It seemed that since his daughter's had always had the dream of owning a clothe's shop he had picked up some knowledge about clothes. Guy could barely hold his laugh in when he first heard Luther explaining what would be good for someone in Amelia's line of work.He suggested a necklace since Amelia would always be able to wear it, and she wouldn't have to worry about the grease from customers hair getting on a bracelet or ring. Shoes would also have the problem of hair falling on them and a hat would cover Amelia's hair, which would be bad for a salon.

In the end Guy decided on a locket type necklace that would have two pictures. One of Guy and Amelia when Guy was twelve and one that Guy and Amelia had taken a week after Guy got out of prison. It costed $100 dollars, but that would be no problem for Guy. He actually bought the necklace then and there, all he had to do was wait for the right time to give it to Amelia.
