《The Universe In My Mind》Chapter 18

As I looked up at the strange sky that was unlike my own. I was really missing home. Although college was boring, I didn't have many friends, and here I was invincible, I wanted to go back. The feeling just got stronger and stronger and I tried over and over to go back to reality.
I hated that even though I was literally god in my mind, I wanted to go back to reality. Still, all that happened was a strange rumbling of space that seemingly only I could see. Given the fact that all the Cyin below seemingly didn't even register the rumbling.
Giving up after a while, I saw the Cyin who were using interfaces when I suddenly got an idea. What if I created a sort of system, it could help me do many things significantly easier. All I had to do would be to power it if I made it correctly, and I had more than enough power.
Simply trying to imagine creating a system resulted in nothing. I had no idea how to even create such a thing as a system. Teleporting over a Cyin they bowed slightly before me and began speaking.
"Anything grand one?"
"I am going to create a system"
"System?"
"Ah, you know how you have interfaces through your technology? I want to create a... thing... that will allow people to use such an interface without having the technology themselves and it will have the capabilities to improve entities strengths"
"Oh, you mean a H8Fj4$%"
"A what?"
The word sounded so foreign that I had no way to even recreate the word. However, after asking again with intent, it was basically a piece of technology that did almost exactly what I said, but it had an extremely short-range of only a few yards and could only make Cyin stronger through small machines in their bodies being altered by signals from the technology.
Basically an incredibly under powered system is what I got from it. It wasn't even making the user stronger through itself, it could only alter machines in the user's body to make them stronger within great limitations.
"Kind of, I want it to be something that doesn't need anything on the user's end, the only thing they need to be able to use the system is sentience. How would I make such a thing?"
"Grand one... we... need some time to be able to create such a theory based off of energy."
"It doesn't have to be solely energy, I have the ability to make it intelligent."
"Give us a few minutes grand one"
"A few minutes?"
"That is the fastest we can do with our current capabilities, apologies if that is too long. If there is anything we can do in the mean time, feel free to ask."
"Alright"
A few minutes to create such a thing? I was expecting a long time like a few years which I would skip and come back. If it just takes a few minutes might as well wait.
'Rose'
I sent a single wave of intent instantly across the entire universe and I saw Rose appear in front of me. She bowed slightly and waited for my orders.

"Let's play rock paper scissors."
"Apologies, I do not know what that game is, can you please teach me how to play master?"
"Sure"
After giving her the gist of rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, and paper beats rock. We began to play. She watched my hand with strange intensity but I didn't care. I moved my hand down and up and at shoot I played rock and she played scissors. Giving a grin, I spoke once more.
"Again"
However, I quickly noticed something off, I won every single game. I even tried to tie but she would always play something that would lose to mine. Even when I tried making a gesture she didn't understand she just made the same weird gesture and asked what it meant.
"Try to win"
After I said this however, her face was filled with distress which made me chuckle a bit.
"Rose, I want you to pick what you are going to play for the next game right now."
She nodded after a second and we played and tied. She seemed to be stressed out and then she suddenly spoke in a slightly rushed voice.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to tie with you."
"It's fine, I don't need to win, I just wanted to play a game with you to pass the time, lets play again."
This time, she won but she had a blank look on her face as she stared at her hand which had paper in shock. I laughed and spoke with a happy voice.
"Good! You won! That is how the game is supposed to be, you did everything right. Good job!"
She looked at me with a bit of shock on her face but she rigidly nodded. I turned to the Cyin who moved closer to the platform and I teleported them up to me.
"Grand one, we managed to create a simulation with such an intelligent being which controlled an energy that they could control the system through. Please take a look."
Saying goodbye to Rose I had to go back to whatever she was doing before and she seemed a bit rigid in her actions. However, she still bowed right before she left and then I took a look at the tablet.
Opening an unknown application, the tablet showed three screens each of which showed different things of seemingly the same place. One, labeled 'Visible' showed a Cyin gesturing in the air to seemingly nothing but then they suddenly started growing larger.
On another screen, labeled 'Energy' it showed a mostly green area with the Cyin being a different shade of green. Then the green in the are around the Cyin seemed to go into the Cyin which was growing slightly.
On the last screen, labeled 'System View' it showed a closeup of the Cyin with a blue interface appearing in front of it and once it clicked a button the Cyin began to grow as the interface changed around a bit.
After a few more seconds, the Cyin stopped growing and it was around double the size of a normal Cyin. The scene warped a bit and a normal Cyin appeared next to the big Cyin. They both swung one of their tentacles at seemingly duplicate trees. The big Cyin completely destroyed the tree, uprooting it and flinging it into the darkness of the simulation. The other hit the tree and caused a bit of damage but the Cyin was worse off, it's tentacle seemed broken.

The simulation turned black and I grinned, it was good enough and since it required an energy to be ever present I might as well introduce mana to the universe. However, I thought about splitting the universe into two halves, one with normal physics, without any crazy things like mana which were made by me, and one where I could test as much as I wanted.
I watched how they created the energy in another simulation and it seemed heavily reliant on making the energy itself intelligent, but not intelligent enough to have its own thoughts. Or else the system could have bias which they showed me could cause major imbalances and even the destruction of worlds in bad cases.
The energy was also very specific in that it was to be made in such a way that would not allow any being to absorb or interfere with it in any way since it was linked to the system which made it fundamentally different from the Divine Energy which Creator made.
Seeing how adamant they were on not letting the system be able to grow to think at all, it bugged me a bit. However, the part of me that really wanted the system said that it would be worth it and the benefits far outweighed the so called moral problems behind it.
Taking the tablet that had all the instructions and requirements for the energy to be such a system, I kept thinking of all the benefits a system would give me. One obvious one would be it would be able to give me information on pretty much anything in it's energy field which I decided to just call the system's influence area.
Teleporting over to Amy, I created another testing barrier with a planet full of plants. Amy requested that once I was done with the planet, she could have it. I didn't really mind so I agreed. Creating a compressed ball of pure energy, I began to infuse it with soul energy while trying to keep the actual amount of soul energy minimal and giving the soul energy intelligence.
Suddenly, the ball of energy which was mostly pure energy with a bit of soul energy became sapient. I could feel the thoughts radiating from the energy and I was shocked. I tried to keep close track of it so that it wouldn't gain sapience because that would cause bias like the Cyin so clearly emphasized.
However, the ball of energy was alive and thinking. I had no idea what to do with it. Quickly the thought of instantly destroying it appeared in my mind but I could tell that the human part of me was rebelling. While I was in my universe, I was like a god, there is no reason why I should be hesitant.
I had accidentally put too much soul energy with intelligence in it which lead to its current state. Obviously, it was a failure, failures should be learned from and removed. As I saw the soul energy swirling around in the small compressed ball of energy that was held together with my mind I saw that it was a pure soul, a blank slate.
All souls that I didn't create seemed to be leaning towards good or evil, and this soul was just a blank slate. Since it was in a pitch black barrier it had nothing to influence it. In my mind, I saw it like a baby, completely unknowing of its circumstances.
If it didn't think, I feel like the act of killing it would be significantly easier. It didn't know that it even existed in a state like that, except this ball of energy was a thinking being. I could tell it was curious of both itself and everything around it.
Feeling the soul energy swirl more to one side and another as it probed the form I kept it in. It began to control its energy and tear itself apart. I was quickly confused since most souls seemed to do this as well. Providing more energy to the ball I could tell that like Creator it tried to sense me but I prevented it from perceiving me.
This was a being completely unlike the other beings I had previously created. Normally, the soul energy was the only energy present in the being with small amounts of ambient energy if there was any. Yet this was a being made of significantly more energy than soul.
It quickly learned that there were two types of energies, the soul energy which made up itself and the other type of energy. It tried to tear its soul energy apart and it quickly stopped. I realized that with previous souls, their intelligence wasn't linked so closely and they had enough soul to actually tear apart.
It seemed to freeze up and its soul energy slowly came back together. While it was regaining it's bearings, I realized I had to find a way to deal with this. If I created a system properly, the two would probably interfere with each other.
"Amy"
"Yeah?"
"This was a failure, what do you think I should do?"
"If it can think, then you can't kill it"
"But it will probably interfere with the system."
"..."
Amy remained silent and I just stared at the ball of energy. It didn't know that its entire existence was at risk simply because I made a mistake. It had finally recovered and didn't mess with its soul energy, instead focusing on messing around with the regular energy.
I finally gathered my thoughts together and I made a decision.
