《World Game》massacre

'I'd like to know what Bobo and his people are going to do about this situation.' Sam thought after listening to Kain.
" Let them end their discussion first. We will talk again afterwards." Sam answered.
He took the twins and left the adventurer guild without choosing a quest. He send the twins to get the council members to the keep again.
An hour later they sat in the conference room one more time.
" Sorry to call you all again. I know that I am the king and that I should make the decisions, but this is an important decision to make for all of us! Ivan will attack Bobo and his group tomorrow morning. I as the king want to help them but I am also clear about our military situation right now.
Ivan's group is strong whereas Bobo and his people are too weak. If we want to help them we have to send a majority of our forces which would leave Blackstone city defenseless. I want to ask them to join us, what do you think?"
At this moment
" Sam, it's me Kain " Sam heard Kain through the guild chat " Bobo is standing next to me right now. He wants to know if you have an idea regarding their situation."
" Tell him that they can join us and live in Blackstone city if they want to!" Sam looked through the round while saying that. Most of the people nodded, only Rudolph and Carl seemed to disagree with Sam's decision.
Carl hastily stood up and said " You should ask them how many people they have and wether they still have food. We don't have many empty houses left after all! "
" We are around 500 people, 50 of us are capable of fighting even though 35 of them are only Level 1 and 2. We have a few rations left but to be honest it won't be enough to last for the rest of the year. " Kain told Bobo's response word for word.

Carl wanted to speak out his concerns but Sam interrupted him and declared " We are all humans and you all know what is happening outside the walls. I won't let them die or ending up enslaved and under Ivans command. This is the first time I use my authority as the king therefore we will accept Bobo and his people. We will find a way to solve the food problem, we don't even have enough food for our own people right now! Accepting them will give us a lot of benefits as well.
We will be able to resettle Woodchester and Oakhausen with their people. These villages are the only settlements between Blackstone and the city.
Now that the cities became dungeons I think we won't have to fear attacks from this direction. Monsters shouldn't leave the dungeons, that's how it usually works in RPG's.
Blackstone city is between the villages and Ivan's group, they won't be able to sneak attack the villages except they take a long detour.
This will be a risky move, but I want to send 100-120 people in each village, another 10-15 combatants will protect the villages for the time being. This way Blackstone will generate more reward points. These can be used to buy food or necessary items and ultimately help us survive."
Sam didn't look at his council this time. He invited Bobo and his people and advised him to start moving immediately.
He ended the meeting and brought a few people to prepare temporary places for the newcomers to live. When they were finished preparing, four hours had already passed since Sam talked to Kain.
Sam instructed some people to welcome Bobo's group and took a nap. After one hour Kain called again.
" Sam we are in big trouble. We are currently next to the lake we passed before. A horde of 50 goblins and two ogers are chasing us! We need reinforcements, the people are getting massacred right now!" Kain shouted through the guild chat. Sam could hear the panic in Kains voice.

' Fuck!! I didnt think about the possibility of monsters attacking them! I have to hurry!!'
Sam immediately grouped up Jack, Linda, Nissa and the twins and left the city southwards together with them.
They needed 45 minutes until they reached the lake. A few people ran past them from time to time while screaming hysterically.
When they arrived a horrifying scene appeared in front of their eyes. Two massive ogers stood in the middle of a screaming and yelling crowd. One oger held a Roman looking shield and the other wielded a giant two handed sword, even though the oger only needed one hand. The ground around them was littered with multiple corpses or badly hurt people screaming in agony. Civilians without any sort of armor were like ants in the ogers eyes.
Both of them were Level 10 bosses therefore even the combatants of Bobo's group were no opponents for them. Small goblins were slowly killing the crippled survivors.
Sam's group had unconsciously stopped when they saw the massacre but after Sam witnessed Bobo laying on the ground with squashed legs crying for help, they started to move again.
They were around 300 meters away from Bobo, when a goblin approched him. The goblin took out a simple dagger while crouching next to Bobo.
In the next moment it slowly stabbed Bobo's stomach. It laughed and continued stabbing and looking at the screaming Bobo struggling on the ground.
The goblin finally sliced his throat licking the blood from its dagger.
Sam saw all of this. He had liked Bobo as a honest fellow who wanted to help his people survive. Sam had already planned to invite him into 'Nightwatch' after they made it to Blackstone, but these thoughts were gone after witnessing Bobo's death.
Sam was so furious he felt himself going into berserker mode. He quickly spoke " All of you kill these two ogers. Linda, make sure you don't hit the final blow! I will take care of the goblins! "
Sam ran off before anyone could say something. He felt his rage rising with every step he took. He smashed the first goblins head with his steel shield before throwing it at the next goblin.
The shield hit its head killing the goblin immediately. Sam ran to the next enemy lifting it with his now free left hand. He looked inside the goblins eyes. It was the one who had tortured Bobo before.
A cruel smile appeared on Sams face. He started to stab the goblins legs continuously.
This lasted until another goblin tried to help its comrade. Sam broke the neck he still held in his hand throwing the goblin away. He turned towards the newcomer and charged. The goblin flew to the ground after a viscous kick from Sam. Before it could stand up again Sam had already crushed its head under his foot.
Meanwhile, the others were fighting the two ogers. Jack and Anissa distracted one of them while Linda and the twins attacked the other one.
Linda shot her lightning spell which heavily burned the ogers right leg. The twins attacked the left leg in succession, skewering it until the bones were visible. The oger finally knelt down. The twins jumped and attacked the head from both sides.
Unfortunately their attacks weren't enough and the oger slapped Nina, slamming her to the ground.
Linda threw a lightning spear at the oger before running towards the unconscious Nina.

With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
