《World Game》Journey to the east

The goblins noticed Kain charging at them. Their group teamed up and formed a defensive line. They drew clubs and primitive axes made of wood and bones taunting the lone soldier who picked a fight with them.
Sam immediately started to stealthily walk around the goblins. He saw how Kain arrived in front of the enemies waving his greatsword. The goblins tried to evade but their defensive position obstructed their movement. One goblin was too late and got decapitated by one swing of Kains sword.
Blood spewed out of the goblins neck while its head flew through the air. When Kain severed the upper and lower body of the next goblin the rest of the enemies got scared and started to fall back.
The sight of one of their comrades getting cut in half was too gruesome. The goblin was still alive trying to crawl behind its comrades while the intestines were slowly falling out of its body.
The goblins fell back step by step when Sam appeared from behind. He smashed two goblins to the side stabbing a third goblins head with his spiked shield. The goblins panicked and started to run away when suddenly five new goblins appeared from inside one of the tents.
One of them seemed to be the leader, wearing armor made of bones. He roared at his underlings and stopped them from running away.
Sam and Kain kept on attacking the goblins, brutally slaughtering them. Sam defended with his tower shield, killing his enemies with counterattacks from his spiked shield.
Kain kept on slashing his sword with nothing but power. He didn't use any skills or swordsmanship, Kain simply slashed and hacked with enormous strengh, breaking weapons and armor.
The goblins couldn't defend against the team of Sam and Kain and even the leader goblin got killed after a few seconds.
The group of 20 goblins got totally annihilated in no more than five minutes.

Sam went over to Kain. He stood in front of him and punched his face as hard as he could. Kain fell down and Sam knelt over him, while looking with cold eyes.
" I will only say it once, you do what I say! If you attack again without waiting for my commands I will let you die or kill you myself. You are really strong but these 20 goblins would have killed you if I hadn't been here to help you out.
Don't misunderstand me, I want to kill these fuckers as much as you, but I also want to survive!
Keep that in mind and wait for me to figure something out when we meet the next enemies.
Do you understand that?"
Kain listened to Sams speech, while looking into his cold eyes. Sam helped him up after he nodded in response.
" Come on, lets collect everything valuable and hide it in the woods. We will take these things with us when we return."
They looked through the goblin corpses and surroundings. Sam opened the tent the leader had come out from. The scene inside was horrible.
The corpse of an around 20 year old woman lay on the ground. Her hands had been tied and her clothes were ripped to pieces.
"Looking at the fluids between her legs and her position, she must have been raped!" Sam said with fury. Her throat had been cut and her empty eyes looked at the tents ceiling. Deep cuts and bitemarks littered her whole body.
Kain came over and witnessed the scene. His face became red and he started shivering because of rage.
Sam and Kain collected all the items and hid them inside a hollow tree. They resumed their journey afterwards.
" I hope these things don't happen everywhere. I don't want to see this sick stuff all of the time." Sam talked while walking.

Kain had been silent ever since their last battle. He had the feeling that Sam could kill him whenever he wanted to, so he listened to Sams commands. The punch from Sam had nearly broken his jaw!
They saw a few more little camps, some of them were splattered with blood, while others had been given up.
They kept on walking east, sometimes engaging with zombies or goblins.
When the evening approached they reached a big hill. After climbing it they looked in a huge valley. Sam saw fields, where farmers did their work and a city right in the middle.
" Humans! This city is only around six hours away from Blackstone city. Let's go! We will scout out this city and learn as much as we can about the people controlling it. We are wandering people looking for a new home, if they ask us." Sam told Kain.
They climbed down the hill approaching the city. The farmers looked healthy and well fed while they worked on the field.
' It seems like they aren't treated badly.' The group of two approached the gate until they were stopped.
Two guards holding shields and spears looked at them with cautious eyes. One of them asked " Who are you? Where are you coming from? What is your purpose?"
Sam stepped forward telling them his made up story. The guards weren't convinced and sent someone to get a superior.
Sam and Kain waited in silence until five people arrived. Two women and three men. All of them were around 30 having average looks.
The tallest of them, a 2m big man wearing heavy armor and a bandana approached Sam.
" You guys are players right? Where did you come from? Did Ivan sent you to infiltrate our city? " The big man asked with hostility.
Sam was flabbergasted because of his tone but answered in a calm voice.
" Yes we are players but we don't know an Ivan. We were wandering around, fighting and surviving, while looking for a new home to stay in. We luckily found this city and approached in hope of being accepted."
The newly arrived group of people inspected Sam and Kain from head to toe while listening to Sam.
" Your story is complete bullshit! How could you survive in the wilderness for so long looking healthy and energetic like that. This fucker Ivan sent you to to infiltrate our city and murder us. Kill them and sent their corpses back!" The big guy, his companions and the guards readied their weapons.
Sam looked still calm when he raised his hands.
" Ok you got me, my story was made up.
We are actually a scout unit from a city six hours away from here. It's called Blackstone city and we simply wanted to find out what sort of people you are!
We don't have ill intentions and by the way the farmers over there look, you guys aren't bad people either. You seem to have problems with someone but if you kill us right now the soldiers of our city will come to look for us over here and you will have another enemy! How about this? Tell us about this Ivan and what kind of person he is. I will talk to our leaders and try to convince them to help you!"
The group of people looked at each other with hesitant expressions.
" I don't really know what to do right now, so let me tell you about Ivan Olev first." The big guy sheathed his sword and started narrating.

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**

Update rate: 1chapter/Day (Except Sunday) Disclaimer: This novel is clearly tagged gore, and this within reason, so please keep that in mind while reading. Though the early chapter suggest that this novel is slice of life one, especially in the first 40 chapters, it must be clarified that this novel is first and foremost a progression fantasy tagged gore and grimdark.
