‘Craaaack’ ‘Craaaack’
When Acma landed on the floor, he couldn’t help but stepping on the brittle bones scattered everywhere inside the gorge. Looking at the amount of the bones, one could deduct that numerous lives have lost in this place.
“This place is super suspicious”, he muttered while looking at his surrounding.
Most of the bones were closed to the wall and there were many traces of stabbing on the lower part of the it. Most likely they were trying to climb the wall before losing their life. Why they tried to climb the wall with hands when they can easily reach the top with magic?
This puzzle made his heart shivered. This place must be more dangerous from what it seem. The gorge and the long tunnel behind the broken door seem ordinary, but many have lost their life in this ordinary place. So he decided to gather more information about this place before exploring the tunnel.
Acma took a closer look at those skeletons. Some of skeletons were bigger than an adult human, some of the skulls have horns like a cow or other animals. Most likely they belong to a beast men because the lower part was humanoid. Acma fought against a minatour before, so there should be many other type of beast men exist. Most of the skeletons were at the size of human adult with an exception few.
“Hmmmmmm... This skeleton must be belong to a dwarf”, said Acma. In front of him was a skeleton with a short limbs. There was an axe nearby and it was wearing a rusted chainmail. Inside the chainmail, there was a shiny cloth. He took that shiny cloth and realized that it was also made of metal. He quickly said, “Identify”
Soft Armour
A mithril armour made by a master craftsman. Can be worn inside the cloth to offer an extra protection
+10 AGI
50 % resistance against physical attack and piercing
“This is a great stuff, like the one Frodo wore in The Lord of the Ring”, said Acma happily. The he look at his surrounding, hoping there were more armour like the one in his hand. He spotted several skeletons wearing the chainmail like the one at his feet.
“Silver, find a soft armour similar to this one and bring them to me”, said Acma to his great wolf. His wolf immediately executed his order. Acma turned his body and continued to examine the skeletons around him.

He was threading his path carefully to avoid stepping on the bones. Although the owner of these bones have been long dead, it just a matter of respect not to step on the bones. After a while, Acma came to realize that some of these bones were faintly glowing with an undiscernible colour. Upon closer inspection, these glowing bones were a lot tougher than non glowing one. However he didn’t have any reasonable explanation about. So he just left it there.
“Silver, find a long bow and an arrow similar to this one”, shouted Acma. In his hand, there was an ordinary looking, string less long bow, made from a black wood. Acma felt this bow was special although it look ordinary. On its body, there was an enchantment with a golden ink. In the quiver next to the long bow, there was many arrow. Its tip was made from a mithril and its shaft was made from the same material as the long bow. He found the long bow and arrows at a glowing skeletons without a skull. He must have been decapitated.
At the moment, Acma seem to forget about the reason why he began to inspect the skeletons at the first place. He was immersed with the treasures in his surrounding. From time to time, he would shouted at his wolf, urging it to find something for him.
“Silver, find this ...” “Silver, could you please ...” “This knife is good. Silver ...”
‘...’
“Awooooooooo.....”, after a while, Silver gave a loud howl as a protest.
“Hahahahaha”, looking at his miserable great wolf, Acma laughed like there was no tomorrow. “I’m sorry Silver, I will help you too”, said Acma. But he still laughing.
After a diligent search, a number of equipment was gathered in front of him. A weapons, an armour, an accessories and other valuables formed a small mound in front of him. All the items he was looking for was found. Looking at the great wolf next to him, he said,
“Good job Silver” and he slowly pat its head and rub under its chin.
All the items in front of him was definitely a magical items, like the string less long bow earlier. There was no sign of a string have been tied on it. So the only explanation was that the long bow feed on mana to form the string. It was a magical long bow.
Magical weapons, wield by a person capable of using a magic, but in the entire gorge, no one have died from magic. All of them succumbed to a physical injuries.

“The real culprit must be this place”, said Acma slowly.
He remembered about how his Black Hole incapable of scratching the stone wall. Most likely the same wall was blocking the magical power inside the gorge. So no one was capable of using magic while still inside the gorge. To make thing worst, the odourless and colourless poisonous gas that made people hallucinated and enrage. To Acma, the gas was the real killer. Normally, anyone who entered the gorge would be concerned about their blocked magical power, so they won’t notice the gas.
Acma couldn’t imagine the chaos inside the gorge when everyone started to attack each other after the effect of the poisonous gas kicked off. They couldn’t even use their magical items to fend themselves. In the end, everyone died. Anyone who entered this place was fated to die. No one could escape unless they were able to block the poisonous gas from entering their system, like his full body armour that has a gas filter installed.
“Phantom Step” ‘...’
“Black Hole” ‘...’
He tried his magic one by one, but nothing happen. No magic can be used inside the gorge. No wonder all these victims tried to climb the wall with their hands.
He tried to summon his other beast too, that also failed. As for Silver, he already summon it outside the gorge. Maybe that’s why it stay summoned.
Acma took all the equipment in front of him into his inventory. Then he turned his body towards the broken door and walk to it.
After a while, Acma arrived at the broken door. It was an entrance to the tunnel behind it as Alice mention before. The door was broken by a blunt force like a fist or a mace not by a sword or a blade. The one who broke the door must have an immense strength. Acma secretly admired the strength used to break the sturdy stone door in front of him.
He passed through the broken door and step into the tunnel behind it.
It was a long and dark tunnel with a good temperature. From time to time, Alice would remind him that the density of the poisonous gas inside the tunnel was increasing. She advised him to connect an oxygen gas to his armour and he did it. He didn’t want to end up like the numerous skeletons on his path.
At the end of the tunnel, there was a hall. Its just a small hall. On the floor, there were many broken stone statues as well as skeletons. No exit could be seen. The wall of the hall was simple and have no decorations. The only thing visible on the wall was a strange symbol. From the top to the bottom, the symbol was about 3 metres high and it was located right at the center of the wall. Acma never saw that symbol before, but somehow he could read it. Maybe it was due to his Language Comprehension skill. It was read as ‘Earth’.
He moved closer to the wall and touched the symbol. Since there was nothing on the wall except this symbol, Acma thought that maybe it was a clue to open a path to another section of this place. He didn’t believe that this wall was the end of this place. There must be something extremely valuable inside this place that attracted many people to enter it. After looking for a hidden mechanism for a while, suddenly,
‘Rumble’
The wall started to move an a path opened up behind the symbol. At the end of that path, there was a second hall. Acma keep walking until he was several steps left before entering the hall. He stopped because he was amazed with what he saw. The hall was filled with a stone statues. These statues were holding a stone weapons like sword, sabre, spear, halberd and axe. If one can imagine, it was similar to terracotta army inside the tomb of Shi Huang Di, only at a smaller scale.
Acma was hesitated to enter the hall.
The reason was several skeletons on the floor that was clearly mutilated. Some of them was hanging at the weapon of those statues. Acma had a suspicion that those statues were the killer.
Behind the rows of stone statues, there was a tunnel that may lead to another room. However, the distance between the place he currently standing and that tunnel was about 500 metres. He was racking his brain on how to get to that tunnel safely.
Acma took several steps and standing really close to the boundaries between the path and the hall.
“Lets test the reaction of these statues”, said Acma and he slowly took a step into the hall with his right leg. His eyes were looking at the closest statue which was holding a stone sword. As soon as his leg touched the floor inside the hall,
‘.........’
Nothing happened.
“Tsk... Am I too paranoid?”
