《Lord of The Heavenly Villa》7 - I Hate Centipede

“Thank you very much, elder”, Acma thanked the elder for its willingness to serve him.
He took out a metal sphere from his inventory. This was a different metal sphere from the one he used before to map the mine. This one was specialized for long range communication. As long as there is energy provided, the sphere will be working.
He handed the sphere to the elder and said, “Elder, this is a communication sphere. Whenever you face with an emergency that you can’t handle, press this button”, he paused when he feel that he forgot about something.
“Owh, my mistake”, he didn’t know the elder’s name.
“Elder, may I know your name. I apologize that I haven’t ask your name earlier”, asked Acma.
“Milord, I don’t have a name. In our clan, only a warrior have a name. Milord can call me with any name you prefer”, the elder politely answered.
“Owh, if that’s the case, I will just call you Elder. I want to know about the warrior thing, please explain it to me”, Acma asked for more info. He started thinking that, if these goblins became a warrior, they could guard the mine.
“Milord, my people will become a warrior when they reach their first evolution and become a hobgoblin. I heard about this happened in other goblin clans, but in our clan history, none have reach that level”. The elder paused and then continued, “We evolve when we reach a certain level, but I don’t know what level it is. I’m already old now, looks like reaching evolution is just a dream for me”, the elder said with a sad face.
Acma feel that he should comfort the sad elder but decide not to, so he asked another question, “How to increase your level?”
“Our level may increase with time, the longer we live, the higher our level is. But it extremely slow and most likely we won't reach our first evolution. On top of that, the previous elder said, we also can increase our level by killing other creature. But, as you can see milord, we are weak. If we try to kill other creature, most likely we’re the one who got killed first”, the elder replied and he look more depressed.
Acma coughed lightly, “Don’t be depressed Elder, we will think about how to overcome that weakness later”. He still doesn’t have anything in mind yet, but surely he can think of solution later. Then he look at the goblins inside the cave. Most of them have recovered, enough to move their bodies and walk. Seeing this, Acma felt relieved in his heart.

“Looks like I’ve spend enough time with this goblins already. I should resume my journey to Orca Village. Time to say goodbye to these goblins”, he thought and look towards the elder.
“Elder, I’m glad that your people is safe. However, my destination is still far, so I have to go now. I will give you an instruction from time to time via the communication sphere, so you don’t have to worry about the safety of your people. After I finish with my business, I will visit you again”.
“Yes milord”, the elder answered. He look at the taller goblin beside him and look at Acma again. He repeat this action several times and Acma felt that the elder have something to tell but couldn’t.
“What is it, elder. You look like have something to tell me”, Acma asked.
“I’m sorry milord. A week ago, before the minatour’s atrocity, our storage have been invaded by a giant centipede. Many of our people have been killed by those monsters. We manage to seal the entrance to the storage, but I’m afraid it won’t last any longer. I’m really sorry milord, if you can delay your departure a bit and exterminate those monsters”, the elder explained about the current predicament, faced by their people.
The crisis is quite grim for them. If their storage were continuously infested by those monsters, his people will lost their food and it will be harder for them to survive.
“I understand. I will exterminate them before continuing my journey. Show me the way”, replied Acma.
"Is there anything else behind this request? Hmmm... Should I be suspicious?" he thought.
Considering the elder's sincere face when it made the request, Acma threw away his suspicion. He was imagining about how big the giant centipedes was. If the characteristics of this giant centipedes was still the same as from the previous world, he don’t have to worry. But, nothing is certain in this new world.
The elder lead the way to the storage. After a while, they arrived in front of a sealed passage.
“Milord, our storage will be at the end of this passageway”, said the elder.
Although he doesn’t know what kind of giant centipedes he would be facing, to let the goblins felt safe, Acma confidently said that he would solve the problems.
“Ok, you guys can withdraw from this place. I will let you know about the result later through the communication sphere”.
After the goblins withdrew, Acma made a hole so he could put the surveillance sphere through it.

“Alice, scout the storage and find the entrance where those giant centipedes come in”,
“Yes Master”, the sphere immediately flew away.
While Alice was examining the storage, Acma checked his status. “Open Status”

“So the territory is not within main status interface. Hmmmm… The new title already added to my status. Good, now my luck is 270. I wonder if I’m the luckiest man on earth. Unfortunately, the earth has already gone. Haih”, Acma sighed a little. “Maybe on new earth too”,
Then he said, “Open Territory Status”.
Heavenly Villa Territory Owner Acma Heart Population 53 Territories 2 Treasury 5000 Golds Monthly Income 0 Gold Monthly Expenses 3 Golds
“Hmmmm… I don’t have income yet but I already have expenses. No income maybe due to no trade, and expenses must be because of the villa and the mine. The amount of treasure is not bad, looks like the gold inside the vault can be used in the current world. Those two territories must be the villa and the mine”, Acma was analyzing his territory status.
“Identify Nokium Ore Mine”. Nokium Ore Mine Owner Acma Heart Ore Type Nokium Worker 53/350 Capacity 50 tonne/year
As he finished checking the mine status, the surveillance sphere return. “Master, I’ve finished analyzing the enemy”, Alice reported.
“What did you get?”.
“There is dozens of giant centipedes in the storage. Most of them were 4-5 meters long, several of them were 6-7 meters long while the biggest of them was 10 meters long. That one must be their leader”, she paused then continued, “They came from a crack on the north wall, it’s about 2 meter in diameter”.
“Dozens? Damn, I thought it was only several of them. I hate centipedes”, grumbled Acma as he remembered one of his painful experience with the centipede when his father threw him in a hole full of centipedes, just to boost his immunity against its poison. He have been bedridden for days because of that.
“And father just grinning when he saw me crawling out of the hole”.
Although the method was painful, but his body indeed have develop an immunity against centipede’s poison. But that was just a beginning.
“Arrgghhhh, I don’t want to remember about that”.
“Lets go”, he said as he took out both his Barquq and Dragon Slayer from the inventory. Then he cut the boulder which sealed the entrance close to 3 meters in diameter and then put it inside his inventory. He want to use the boulder to seal the crack, thus preventing more centipedes from invading the storage.
After a short walk, Acma now is facing against his hated enemy, centipede. A lot of centipedes.

That was the level of the shortest centipedes. Acma haven’t see the longer centipedes, even the black centipede was nowhere in his sight. He gritted his teeth, his eyes beaming with fiery red light, clearly an expression of hatred. He has decided, that he will use this opportunity to repay all his past suffering.
“Dieee!!!”, he shouted as he dashed forward, brandishing his weapon with both of his hands. Each slash successfully cutting his target. Some of them were cut into two pieces, some of them had their head splitted. The centipedes tried to bit Acma, but their effort were fruitless because their fang was incapable to penetrate Acma's armor.
Slashing this hated enemy really amused Acma to the extreme. His heart was brimming with joy. His mouth exploded with a laughter. He already cleared almost all the giant centipedes inside the storage except a few of them. Those remaining centipedes were still alive only with half of their bodies because Acma had some plan.
“I think I can make the goblins kill these centipedes later”, he thought while looking at the remaining half centipedes in front of him.
He step inside innermost of the storage. Now he was facing the final boss inside, a grim black giant centipede.

“Green monsters, now we’re talking”, a smile appeared on his face as he put away his Barquq and readied his stance to accept the black centipede’s attack with his Dragon Slayer.
But, before the black centipede begun it’s attack,

The Paradox Prophecy
Thousands of years ago, an alliance between the races of Idoras and the mighty dragons, saved the world from destruction. After many years of relative peace, a dark evil emerges. Aalya, a young girl from the small kingdom of Avani, meets the young Prince Alexandar. When chaos reigns on their peaceful home, Aalya and her friends gear up for an adventure that could very well determine the fate of all life in Idoras. I haven't completely fleshed out the prophecy yet but I wanted to include it because it is an important part of the story. I have decided it would be better to spend some time figuring out the world I am creating and work out all the kinks in the story. I have done a lot of editing in the first seven chapters already. For now, updating will be scarce. I will post all of part one once I am happy with what I have written. I will leave what I have up, but please let me know what you think. I do not own the image I used for the cover.
