《Earth: The Gods' Playground》Chapter 26

Returning to the place where road connecting to new Wostnik is I start carefully moving upwards while keeping watch at my surroundings.
Who knows what strange monsters I will meet. On my left, trees and bushes cover the land where on the right side I slowly walk up towards first home standing there.
"Let's scavenge some stuff, that's the moment backpack I brought from Stephan house will be useful."
I step into the courtyard and lightly check if the door is open.
"Hmm, closed, then let's just bash it."
Slam!
"Fuck off! It's my house! Don't think that I will let people or monsters enter here!"
Shout comes in response. So there is person the moment I check new Wostnik? Great.
"Hello, I'm from down the village, the road is mostly cleared off monsters now so it's relatively safe, I suggest you travel down the road and look for people near Village Chief house. The survivors are gathered there."
"What!? Really? I thought order was lost, good thing the monster apocalypse is under control now."
"Well, not really, I just killed monsters baring my way, I'm not some rescuer or anything. just friendly person."
I start walking off.
"Remember, check near Village Chief house!"
"Right, right, I will check later." After that I can hear some running about in the house, that man probably takes all his needed stuff.
I continue going upwards. No enemies in sight yet, no people in sight. After walking I am near another house.
But this one belongs to some rich guy, brand new car, the house even looks new. Once again I check the door.
Shut tightly.
Slam!
Slam!
"It won't budge, that's what you call anti theft door!"
Slam!
"It won't work." I make some distance.

"Dark bolt."
Crash!
"Hmm, not enough."
"Dark bolt."
"Dark bolt."
Crash! Crash!
"What crazy door, it let loose after only three shoots. But I need one final push."
Slam!
That's it, path cleared. I walk in.
Looking around I find the house in order as if no one was inside before the countdown.
I start exploring, all long lasting food goes to my backpack, as well as pain killers, antibiotics, bandages, water for disinfection.
I check every room, there are some clothes, but nothing I could use.
After quick break I check other places, and after some careful looking I surprisingly find a hatch, well, I shouldn't be surprised since it's in well off house.
Hatch of course means that there is bunker down there, below the basement where hatch is.
I use some strength and open it, Looks like it's new, no resistance at all.
After opening I can see gaping dark hole, with ladder.
Just as I was about to look into it, I hear gun shot.
Bang!
"Whoa!"
I jump away.
"What the hell?"
"Fuck you bandit, you won't get me or my family alive!"
Bang!
I run to other room.
"Fuck, crazy bastard, shooting all of sudden."
"Hey! You idiot, I'm not bandit, fool!"
"Says, the bandit."
"Fuck you, I'm no bandit."
"So what are you doing here 'I'm no bandit'."
"Looking for survivors fool, not thought about that?"
"Have government done something to kill all those monsters and brought order back?" He asks hopefully.
"No, I'm sure our country in whole is fucked. I just got here to tell you that survivor camp is down the village, near the Village Chief house. Not that you need to go."
"We will see, now fuck off if you are not bandit!"

"Fuck you too." I go outside.
"So many people I don't wish to meet, alas I need to find some survivors since I'm here."
Continuing the journey I explore 4 more houses but only in one there is a girl, she as everyone I meet earlier hid herself and waited for rescue.
I told her like others to go down to Monic and Chief.
After that 4 houses I finally met a monster, and not one but two.
Looking at those two monsters I can't help but admire.
"Those gods even spawned them where I would suspect they came from."
On the left is plain, farms, fields and other nature things, and before me I see two armored like monsters, looking like a insect.
They have four thin legs, they end with pointy spears. They have antennae on their heads, the head is usual insect like with mandibles. The main body is quite big, protected by two crusted parts on sides.
The whole monster is yellow, probably to camouflage itself in the field.
I can guess it's resilient, and those pointy leg arms are dangerous, I should avoid being in closer combat with it.
Let's just check what the hell is it.
Field Beast
Level 10
Beast commonly found on fields, loves to eat congregation, it has armored body, front legs act as weapons, it's quite slow, mostly met in small groups.
"Good name for this monster. Level 10 and it's said they appear in groups, so the difficulty rises with time a bit, or just field is dangerous place, I wonder which one it is." I already stand in their view, but they don't care much.
They are just making weird noise and walking near the field.
"Let's see how resilient is that armor. Dark bolt."
Slam!
Not much damage.
"Khishikhishi."
Startled, the field beasts move towards me.
"Dark bolt."
"Dark bolt."
I fired three times at one monster. The body armor protecting field beast is cracked somewhat and yellow liquid flows out.
"Dark bolt."
"Dark bolt."
"Dark bolt."
I cast the spell another three times, the field beast yields and collapses.
"Khishikhishi."
"Khishikhishi."
The other one enters my range.
Let's try using my arms a bit.
Beast tries to pierce me with that pointy leg, but I just dodge slightly to the left and stab with my spear.
I hold back a bit because of my wounds.
Stab!
Crack!
My held on spear pierces only a bit more than centimeter before it comes to stop.
"Resilient, huh."
I spin on my toe and deliver another blow, this time almost full powered.
Stab!
Crack! Crack!
"Khishikhishi."
Yellow like blood flows as my spear pierced the armor, although quite shallowly.
I jump back to avoid other stab by the beast. I stop close fight since my arms start to bring me pain again.
I should just end it with magic, enough of close combat experience with new monster for now.
"Dark bolt."
Slam!
I tried to hit same spot and it worked, the wound exploded and caused serious injury.
"Khishikhishi." Trembling the beast again tries to stab me, but unsuccessfully.
"Dark bolt."
"Dark bolt."
Level up!
As I gain another level I can hear rustle coming from the field.
"Probably another Field Beast, I am quite tired from all this magic fight, let's just retreat to Chief and Monic for now."
I then run.

Time Can't Heal This
I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by.These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.
