《Reality or Game》Chapter 46: Display of Excellence, Part 2

Blitz POV
My victory seemed so sure, but why did I have this feeling of dread. My instincts were kicking in; however, they were created by my fear of Hawk. I had won. My body’s fear was just kicking in. That was what I told myself.
I swung Flametongue at the cornered Dove for my assured victory. Regardless of which route Dove took, I won.
Dove chose to block. I immediately activated Meltdown Strike with the minimum 5% Health sacrifice and broke through her guard. As expected, she used her second Ability to dodge the strike.
I waited half a second ready to Flare Blitz as soon as she returned. My victory was guaranteed.
Or so I thought. On the last second, I spotted on the corner of my eye that I had 14% Health left, meaning I would lose to Flare Blitz recoil. I instead attacked normally, cutting her as soon as her Banish was over.
Despite her initial surprise, Dove quickly pulled herself together as we sparred one hit away from victory and defeat.
Kiwi POV
The broke out to a cheer as the Duel ended. To them, the spar in the end was the climax; however, to the trained eyes, the best part of the Duel was Dove luring Blitz to cornering her and commencing her plan. This was all part of Hawk’s plan. Of course, Dove had to bring Blitz to that Health range with her own execution.
Unexpectedly, Blitz noticed his Health and did not Flare Blitz. Hawk claimed Blitz would concentrate on not making a mistake and not give attention to his own Health because he would believe that a mistake on his part was the only way to lose.
This was the cause of the finale happened with neither able to use Abilities. Blitz could have had a big advantage if chose to delay the fight instead, since Dove was out of Mana, if he waited for his Abilities to cooldown. Instead, they fought for their lives and ended the Duel then and there.

Canary POV
We slowly walked towards Dove as she strode back towards us. When we finally reach each other, Hawk and Dove high-five each other.
“Good job.” Said Hawk happily but not too excitedly.
“Your plan wasn’t perfect. Be thankful that I’m the best and managed to win regardless.” Replied Dove with a smiling face but also not too excitedly, despite the words.
“Say you’re the best after you win the tournament.”
Dove smirked and replied, “Yes our great Leader.”
Alcor gathered everyone’s attention and said, “Congratulations to our second finalist, Dove! It was a spectacular match. We will be taking a lunch break to allow the Players to rest before continuing to the third-place decider and finals at 2:30. See you all!”
[Fade Strike]
User applies Banish on self for half a second. At the end of this period, the user strikes the target for moderate Wind Physical Wind Damage before returning to the original location.
Range: Single Target, Clear Vision
Cooldown: 30 Seconds
[Banish]
