Fenix:"Begin!"

As they heard the shout, Markus and Drexel with drew their fist bump and jumped back a meter each.

The crowd stopped cheering as the two circled each other while closing in, provoking each other to attack and looking for openings in their stances. There was an eerie silence and the tension was high.

Their stances were not the best but ok, they were magicians after all and will only train in the academy a martial arts that goes well with their affinity.

Drexel was muttering a water spell under his breath, he released a {Water spear}.

Markus evades by lifting the earth up by around a meter.

He made an {Earth wall} erupt from underneath him, not only did he defend against the attack, but now he has higher grounds!

Markus immediately started shooting [rock bullets], small but quick attacks that don't need incantations.

*Zhu! Zhu! Zhu!*

They come flying towards Drexel but he just strengthens his arms with Ki and punches the rocks back at Markus.

The deflected attack starts to crumble.

Mana manipulation! Even higher level mages may not know this!

Experts in the Audience:"Woaaah! Who are their teachers? Is this really a C grade match!"

Fenix only smiled, a vicious and proud smile, when listening to those comments.

If they looked at him now, they would see a 9 year old boy with a puffed up chest, with his fist in the air and head held high, shouting something like "Go Drexel, you better get us gol- I mean our well deserved respect!"

Drexel being able to deflect means that he can utilise Ki manipulations accurately,

he had to put enough power so that the rock bullets wouldn't get destroyed and so had to measure and apply the same amount of inner mana or Ki on his arm.

Drexel:[An earth affinity? He might be hiding something like an affinity or special move, better not let my guard down...]

After deflecting the attack Drexel, finishes his incantation and jumps a meter in the air and shoots a {Water Bolt},

a large aquatic sphere goes fly, leaving blue sparkles of water where ever it goes.

Drexel lands while analysing the situation.

Markus immediately withdraws his earth wall. He expects the water ball to fly past but instead it follows him to the ground!

The water ball rapidly comes near, it looks like a beautiful giant blue orb sparkling in the sunlight.

Many people in the audience were entranced by the sight!

Markus uses [Earth armour] only on his arms, he tries to input the same amount of mana on the earth on his arms and goes to smash it, just as he touches it the water immediately turns into steam.

Drexel immediately channeled fire magic and imputed mana more quickly.

The warm blast of steam hits Markus' face!

Markus retreats trying to escape the impenetrable steam and jumps back.

The steam follows him like the water ball. It wraps around him, like a suffocating boa constructor, in fact, outside it looks like a snake.

"Woaaahh!" Many of even the common city folk heard of this special and rare skill, even though it's b grade, many high grades don't even have it. It requires a dual affinity of two opposing elements, how rare! You need to be an expert in control, if even a Rank C has enough control, they can learn and use it! Many people gasped in amazement!

The high B grade skill {Steam control}, an extremely sought after skill because of it high monster and area control, best for dungeons!

Markus:"Urgh." *Pant* *Pant* [Damn it! Not only does he know Ki manipulation, he knows mana manipulation higher than me!] Markus was extremely frustrated, he used up loads of mana but it did nothing to Drexel. He could clearly sense that Drexel barely touched his Ki and even then, has slightly more mana left than him!

Even if he had a months head starts, they were equal the beginning of the week!

Moisture in the steam made his clothes stick together and mixed in with his sweat.

He was truly irritated and uncomfortable.

It is common knowledge to never lose your composure in a battle.

Especially in a magus or martial arts battle!

Drexel uses this chance, he applies Ki on his legs and quickly starts running towards Markus.

Markus senses Drexel approaching quickly. He tries jumping back but he's being blocked by a {Water Wall}!

Markus gets ready to defend against the Attack, as he was going to apply another earth armour the steam suddenly dissipated leaving a powerful gust of wind as a shock wave.

Markus was extremely sensitive to his surroundings right now, the sudden change in temperature, the steams disappearance as well as the powerful gust of wind surprised him greatly.

He naturally put his arm in front of his head, blocking the gust of wind, thinking it as an attack.

Drexel used the moment to execute his attack, he applied more Ki on his arms and leg and propelled himself forward,

In a couple seconds he arrived in front of Markus, still shielding his head from the gust of wind

Drexel gave a powerful punch to the solar plexus, forcing Markus to collapse on his knees and gasp for air.

He then continued with a following kick to the abdomen while Markus was on his knees.

Ruthless! When they found Drexel was a dual affinity many people were shocked, they knew when he released the steam it showed what he's capable of! But this was too much! A 9 year old- kicking a 12 year old who was on his knees may look comical, but many people could hear the impact and couldn't help but grimace!

Drexel never knew why the crowd suddenly stopped cheering, he never noticed the look of horror on their faces!

After all, he was taught that as long as it follows the rules, anything can be done in a fight.

The students in both houses who knew of Fenix looked towards him, they could guess who taught Drexel how to fight!

They shivered, looking at the look of amusement and sadistic grin on his face.

Professor Drake leaped across the huge arena and appeared next to Fenix.

One leap!

All the students could tell he was a formidable expert, even for a rank A.

Professor Drake: "Fenix, don't you think the fight has drawn to a conclusion!" He said with a sigh, as he looked at Drexel lifting up Markus with a choke hold.

Professor Fenix: "Nah." He said subconsciously, concentrating on the fight.

Professor Drake was tired of Fenix ignoring him, holding back his anger and releasing killing intent to warn Fenix, he asked: "Why? Haven't you had enough torturing my grandson?"

Fenix immediately sensed the killing intent, he gave a cold, cruel smile, and looked at Drake with his intelligent golden eyes: "He is still able to fight and he is not unconscious, I am the referee, break the rules and I will not hesitate to kill even you Drake..."

Professor Drake knew this boy wasn't lying, the academy won't stop him either, how could they become an enemy of someone with such high potential? As their eyes met, he shivered, remembering who he was dealing with,

he humbly said:"Professor Fenix,I will double the gold/token or give you a better Ki technique if you stop early, Drexel can even keep the win!"

Fenix:[Fool, haha, giving away gold so freely! My plan worked, and the boy got his punishment, that's what arrogance gets, if you don't have the power to back it up, like me, ho ho ho!]

Fenix: "Triple the gold." He said casually, with a childish grin, his eyes shining, already imagining the gold!

He even accidentally released some fighting spirit, a variation of killing intent which measures strength, in excitement.

Drakes and Fenixes class, shivered, they already could guess that Fenix was more powerful than Drake, but seeing a man who jumped across the enormous arena, with but one leap, cower in fear of him, they couldn't help but try to imagine their powers.

Seeing one of their strongest teachers submit and immediately disperse his killing intent, from a grin! The teachers who were listening couldn't help but shiver, remembering those professors that Fenix was tested with-

Professor 1:"T-t,they will heal...right?"

Professor 2: "In due time, let's not lose hope yet, it's only been a week..."

Professor Drake: "T-t,triple?" [At least he never meant the Ki techniques, I only have 2 high level ones...]

100 gold was a hefty sum itself, an average family can survive a year with a 10 silver.

100 copper = 1 silver.

100 silver = 1 gold.

100 gold= 1 diamond.

100 diamond= adamantine.

Adamantine was the strongest material on this plane, even some deities can't break it!

Fenix:"Yeah, since we're friends I'll only triple it." He said, with a natural adorable smile.

Professor drake: "Ok, *sigh* deal."

[That face is too adorable, he even called me friend, awwww--wait a second!

How does his face switch from scary to cute so fast! The work of a devil!]

The students and teachers who knew Fenix and were overhearing just shook their head in disbelief:

[*Sigh*, if this is how much he takes off his friends, how much does he extort off his enemy, no wonder Drexel suddenly became so ruthless and aggressive, he's usually so passive and quiet, I knew it!]

Aaron and James:[Please come back to us Drexel, don't join the dark side!]

Drexel was currently flinging Markus everywhere, the audience and Markus' crew could only gasp in horror and amazement! The younger, 9 year old Drexel, using 12 year old Markus as a punching back looked ridiculously frightening! They were clearly on totally different levels, even if they are both Rank C!

Markus' classmate: "Markus! Don't stand up! Just give up!" Many of the girls in his class didn't want anyone harming Markus' handsome face.

Markus could only grit his teeth and try to stand up, he was too arrogant and prideful to submit.

Suddenly Markus could feel a huge killing intent directly coming for him, simultaneously Drexel was pouring a huge amount of Ki into his next and final attack, but Markus knew this killing intent was not from Drexel, it was too strong, unimaginably so!

Many of the experts in the arena frighteningly looked towards Fenix, you would need tons of experience to control it and would have need to kill millions of beings for the intent to be that strong!

The killing intent impressively avoided any obstructions in its path and quickly weakened itself so it doesn't harm Markus or his soul.

Markus quickly lost consciousness. He was struggling to stand up before this, so it looked natural, Drexel slightly felt the familiar killing intent and quickly stopped his attack.

There was a momentary silence, they were waiting if Markus would get up once again.

Suddenly, a huge roar of applause erupted from the crowd!

"Aah, totally worth having lunch here! This is better than the duels in the human capital coliseum!"

"Those kids were monsters!"

"Wait till I tell Jimmy! Shame he couldn't have come..."

"Ahh, here comes that adorable referee!"

Fenix went with Drake to the centre and announced the results:

"The results are obvious: Drexel from the Fenix house has one the duel.

The professor of the losing pupil shall now give the sum of 300 gold, the bet has changed to a triple of the former 100 gold, professor drake if you don't mind...?"

Professor drake: "I drake, submit that my teaching skills are clearly less formidable to professor Fenixes. Here."

With a flip of his hand Drake passes a heavy bag of gold to Fenix.

Audience:"I don't even know anymore... Just cheer!"

The audience cheered as Fenix took the bag. That's how the rumour of a 9 year old teacher in the academy began!

The experts in the audience only cowered when they looked at Fenix, getting reminded of the ominous killing intent.

The headmaster:"Thank you all for attending this duel, even I was surprised hearing that two of our brightest pupils were having a duel, clearly they were taught supremely by their respective teachers, to improve so much in a week is a miracle it self, hopefully, our main branch academy will win this years tournament, I would like to congratulate both professors and students for the amazing fight, especially professor Sinnil, to recruit a professor and pupil of such caliber personally, you have a good set of eyes! Hopefully your accommodations have been met and you have a safe trip home."

People applauded respectfully to the rank SS vice head professor Sinnil and headmaster Alduk of the main academy --two of the founders of the adventurers guild and academy it self. There were many nobles and even kings here looking to recruit for their kingdoms, they all submitted to the head and vices presences! Markus and Drexel will probably be getting many invitations.

There were many branches of the academy all across the world, similarly like the adventurers guild. This was the main academy residing in the academies personal island, some people can not travel too far away so there are many talents in the other academies.
