Chapter 5

ROOOAAARRR

BOOOOM

BANG

CLANG

Following the earth-shaking roar, everyone saw something black flash before the skeleton and the millions of attacks exploded upon impact. The earth not only shuddered from the explosion but also created a 20-metre deep crater and a large storm of dust as it shielded the unknown entity that protected the skeleton from countless deadly sure-death attacks.

This however didn’t faze the Saints while they were in the middle of powering up their second attacks with only the long range fighters to be the only one to continuously rain down hell upon the spot where the dust was most abundant.

They cannot see, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t sense the malevolent aura the eleven men naturally possessed and one powerful aura that all the Saints were familiar with. Since Saints had an acute sixth sense known as ‘Saint Sense’ which could only be used by Saints themselves.

Sounds of wings flapping in the air were heard. It broke the harmonious wind that blew by; even the millions of attacks that were descending on the skeleton didn’t affect the wind much. This goes to show just how deadly and concentrated the Saints’ attacks were. With one flap, the dust exploded outwards as it dissipated the longer it flew away and revealed the new entity that interfered with their battle.

A large black smoky dragon with red blood eyes like the skeleton and similar in size with only being a bit larger than him appeared. It was so smoky that it looked like it will disperse from just a heavy wind. However, reality was different and appearance can be deceiving.

The smoky dragon that appeared came from within that black hole on the skeleton’s chest. It was a powerful monster born from the necromancy magic.

In this world, there is seven known magic that can be found in every single living being. Even so, knowing how to use that magic is another story.

Lightening

Water

Fire

Earth

Wind

Darkness

Light

However, there is a sub-category that cannot be found in just any living person. Only the rare and special ones can use another rare and almost unheard of category of magic in the world.

Necromancy

Holy

Chaos

Only the powerful would know this as they possess extensive knowledge in regards to magic and the deliberate action of suppressing this information from the general public so that when they discover an abnormality in magic testing that would be conducted when a child reaches the age of five, they can easily rope that person in before they can become independent from the greedy.

Those who train in the rare three magic are naturally more powerful compared to the normal seven magic users that the world knows. Since the three magic involves training in something that is considered out of the norm.

They are considered so powerful that five normal magicians would be needed to defeat a rare magician of the same rank. With their unnatural and unknown attacking method, it is no wonder they are powerful.

Even so, not much information is known about them or their methods.

However, from this one could guess the reason why the prestigious ‘Dragon Dojo’ brought over a large number of Saints just for eleven people.

Also the reason for a skeleton with no meat of any kind that could tell that he was human or much less a living person. The reason is because the skeleton is actually a necromancer with unknown abilities pertaining life and death.

What was even more shocking and unfathomable for a necromancer is how the skeleton managed to defend against countless attacks that rained down like hell has descended upon him, with only one spell.

This is testament to the threat that the skeleton posed.

The black dragon growled before it readied itself for the second assault.

The powering up attacks made by the warrior Saints isn’t time-consuming but the fact that everything up to now, only one second has passed since the explosion of magic upon the dragon. Even then, the magician and long range fighters all waited for their warrior counterparts to finish to that they may finish him off in one go.

However, one second was enough for the skeleton to fully release his magic as it was still active.

The moment he thought this, the black hole churned before it stopped and then the hole widen to encompass 10 metres in diameter in front of the skeleton. Before the Saints could register this new action, countless roars of different kinds erupted from within the black hole. Then suddenly countless black streaks shot through the air from the hole towards the Saints.

The Saints warriors seeing this, were fortunate enough that their powering up was finished and seeing the astonishing speed that those streaks were shooting in, had no choice but to use special attacks on the black streaks.

The magician and long ranges warriors, although slow in reaction, coupled with them being behind them allowed them enough time to awake from their stupor. They all swiftly unleashed the quickest magic they could use and sent it smashing towards the black streaks.

The black streak, as smashed into the counterattacks of the Saints, instead of exploding along with the magic, it stopped as the magic impeded their swift advances.

The various streaks of different sizes stopped and what appeared was deformed monstrosity of deathly proportion. Ghastly looking humans that were thought to have been one of the slowest monsters in the world, only that their previous swift advances overturning that notion. Giant smoky wolves the size of a bear baring their fangs without fears despite being outnumbered. Giant black bears with steel-like skin, twice the size of normal bears hovering in the air as their claws gleamed with heart-shaking shine.

Lizards that could be mistaken for a dragon from the ignorant adventurers, while their nose producing black smoke whenever it breathes. Blood red snakes half the size of a bear with a length of 15 metres, slithering through the air as it flickered its tongue.

Skeletal warriors of various origins all in formation, humans, elves, dwarves and so forth, all cladded in silvery polished armour that has never known being damaged and the powerful defense it possessed. Black lions with large mane that flowed like the wind, giving the Saints a domineering gaze as it gestured that they aren’t worthy of being the lion’s foe.

Black and white striped tigers with its furs occasionally alternating with black becoming white and white becoming black. Large black insects the size of a bear such as the grasshopper and the praying mantis, despite their body restriction, they stood straight like a human as their bodily defences could be mistaken as plated armours. Both insects were busy sharpening their already sharp and fierce arms, with the sound powerful enough to force a normal warrior to cringe upon hearing it.

All the monsters and magical beasts assembled in front of the skeleton as they faced off against the army of Saints. Despite being outnumbered two to one, the monstrosities all stared not with fear but with hatred. Hatred so fierce and blood curling that just the gaze alone showed just how much they hate the Saint, it was as if the hate was because the Saints were living and they weren't.

With all the black monstrosities in between the army of Saints and their hated enemy, the skeleton, naturally the Saints had no choice but to view the monsters as enemies.

Any friends of the enemy are an enemy.

The skeleton didn’t dawdle when his necromantic minions appeared, he also started to chant a powerful magic. Normally this would have been impossible before, but with the addition of his powerful minions, this alone could buy enough time for him to activate it.

Kenji, who saw the skeleton lower jaw move, knew he was going to a deadly spell. With this realisation, he gave a signal to a lady who was at the forefront of the normal attired Saints who never joined the chaos that went down.

The lady caught his signal and both of them, at the same time sent out a telepathic message through the use of their natural ‘Saint Sense’.

“All Saints, Attack!!

Mages, aim only at him.”

With this one command, all the Saints warriors rushed towards the new monstrosities as they all either brandished their weapons, powering up on a special close combat move or shot out energy attacks.

Long range warriors such as archers, knife wielders and so forth all sent down rains of cold weapons like the end of the world to support the close combat warriors.

The frontline of monstrosities didn’t have enough time to react as they were too close to the warriors and so without much resistance, the close combat warriors easily slice apart the frontline like butter.

SWISH

“RAAGG----kuh”

CHIIIII

While, the ranged attacks shot through the air as it swerved in the air as it alive to avoid injuring its allies, to only target the second and last line of defence the monsters made. However, despite the surprise attacks that the Saints made, coupled with the longer distance need to get to them and naturally slower than the Saint Warriors lightning fast speed, the monsters reacted fast enough to defend against the attacks.

CHINK

CLANG

CLINK

Having successfully defended against the long range attack, they were weakened for only a moment. Nevertheless, a moment was enough for the close combat Saints to overpower them in a clash of strength. Even with the small gap of weakness, the monsters weren’t so easily destroyed as they immediately flew back, giving them enough time to regain their normal state of strength before they shot back and clashed with the Saints.

The smoky dragon, seeing the magical rainbow like flying down with power rivalling a powerful meteor from out of space, closing in on its master, flew in between the rainbow and its master. It opened its mouth and suddenly a small ball formed inside its mouth with smoke flowing out. The small black ball instantly condensed all the smoke inside itself and in turn, enlarged the more it devoured the black smoke.

In a moment, it exploded from a small ball to a massive black ball two times bigger than the dragon. Instead of shooting the massive ball into the fray of colour rainbows, it controlled the black ball to take the shape of a thick square board and wide enough to protect his master.

Going from flying in front to condensing its black magic into a thick board took only a moment, which is faster and a second has not passed yet. From this, one could see how swift and loyal the smoky dragon was in regard to his master’s safety.

The magical rainbows exploded upon smashing into the black board, unlike what the dragon expected, it shattered like glass before the combined might of the Saint magicians. Even so, it still managed to cut down the power of the rainbow before it met the smoky dragon who seeing this, had no choice but to take it upon itself to block his master from it.

Even in the face of death, the dragon rushed into the rainbow before it self-destructed eliciting a strange sound before it actually exploded.

CHEEEEBOOOOOOOM

Doing this, it hoped to further break down the formidable power of the rainbow and it was all up to its master to defend against the rainbow.

The skeleton, seeing this couldn’t help but grumble unintelligible words before he was forced to slow his current chanting to allow his mind to chant another spell.

What he was doing is splitting his mind into two, with each mind doing things independent of the other as they chant a magic that the skeleton gave his minds to do. With the first mind continuing the chant that he was in the middle of doing, ever since the time he released his minions while his other mind chanted a spell that could protect him from the dazzling yet deadly rainbow.

Having instantly finished the spell despite it being chanted later than the first and still continuing spell he was rapidly powering up.

The moment he cast the magic, all the minions, dead or alive all disappeared.

This spectacle left the Saints who were about to deal the killing blows, suddenly slash mid-air and stared stupefied.

The minions instantly appeared before the rainbow, those who were dead were now alive and those who were injured are now in their prime condition as they all knew what was asked of them from their master. Even if the master didn’t tell them, just them being soul connected with the master, let them know what he wanted from them.

Without hesitation, some shot magical and energy attacks while others flew into the rainbow and the rest formed a wall of monstrosities with no gap left unchecked.

During the rainbow dazzling from the start, the skeleton paid close attention to Kenji and the lady that Kenji secretly signalled to. They both are powerful enemies and he knew better than to let them out of his sight. Having noticed that they were so close to him that in another moment, he would be in close combat with them, he begrudgingly destroyed both his blood red eyes in order to save himself from them.

CRISH

The blood eyes shattered like a fragile glass before the shards swiftly flew from his eye socket and head towards the two opponents, along with ten purple robes flying alongside the shards that rapidly turned into something clearly not shard-like.

The shards materialised into two blood red fully cladded armoured warriors, emanating an intense and bloody aura that only a warrior that has been slaughtered countless lives could possess. They looked to be formidable as they materialised giant blades made entirely from the respective warriors’ blood.

Before, Kenji and the woman weren’t scared of the ten robed figures and the shards, nevertheless the moment the shards materialised into two blood warriors. Both couldn’t help but grumble and show a small hint of fear, clearly the blood warriors weren’t something that they could simply ignore.

Without much choice, they both released their ace card that was only going to be used for the skeleton upon the blood warriors and didn’t care about the ten robed figures as they weren’t dangerous as the warriors themselves were.

Kenji, with his instant ‘Water Dragon’ spell that merged with the guandao, this strengthens his already formidable power to the next level when it is used in conjunction with the personal prowess of Kenji that was forged from the countless dangers he has encountered throughout his life.

He expertly swung his weapon that was imbued with powerful magic.

No matter the angle or the speed or technique, all these can be clearly seen in this simple looking swinging execution that was moving like a swimming dragon as it opened its mouth, indeed deserving of his great reputation as a Master of a prestigious Dojo.

Kenji borrowed the twisting power of his waist and legs to exert his moving strength, creating a powerful swing that pooled the energy in his whole body, moving as fast as the wind and left no warning sign in advance. It was really instantaneous, seemingly like a water eruption and in the blink of an eye; the guandao point arrived only a foot away from one blood warrior.

The blood warrior, who is on the receiving end of Kenji’s technique, didn’t dawdle as it revealed its own exquisite move that was rushing like the volcanic eruption against Kenji’s attack. Clearly it had enough strength and skills to match Kenji with its blood blade, indeed the fears the two Saints had were not groundless.

The lady wasn’t any inferior as she thrust her whip like a slippery snake that could not be contained by anything as it slithered through the air. Seemingly like a snake that was unhindered by anything like the eel as it swims through rocks like nothing.

She whisked off the earth like a panther and twisted her wrist to swing her long 5 metre whip into a circle. Creating the illusion of a million circles, large and small, come homing in on the warrior like metal being attracted to a magnet.

The second blood warrior, not daunted by the illusion, swiftly thrust his sword forward leaving behind after-images of swords. It created an equally astonishing attacking power to the lady as the sword created countless numbers of after-images. It completely covered the body of the blood warrior from the lady’s view and its ability to hide which sword is the real one amidst the countless fake ones. But are they really fake ones?

The countless swords and whips swished through the air, closing in on each other to determine the dominant ruler of the wind.

TANG

SWIK SWIK SWIK

Clangs boomed from Kenji’s and the first blood warrior’s clash despite the weapons strength difference. Swishing rang out from the agile whip swiping away many blood swords, the countless swords really weren’t illusion.

At the same time, a large tremor exploded, further rumbling the earth like a beast waking up from a deep sleep.

BOOOOOOM

RUUUMMMBBBLLLEEE

The earth rose then cracked as it moved like a wave, starting from the epicentre of the explosion. The source of the explosion is the collision course between the rainbow magic and the great wall of monsters.

Turbulent sky creating mini-whirlwinds, lightning flickering all over the sky and ground like a pair of hungry tongues. Rocks and trees either hovering in the sky like an omnipotent existence of nature or incinerated into dust as it polluted the sky with nature’s dusts. Water blasted into steam, covering a small area in mist.

The normally clear tired red sky, turned into a black night with the clouds that appeared from thin air, blanketing the surrounding area in 15 kilometres in pure darkness with the lightning being the only source of light.

However, despite all the chaos and close proximity that the two Saints were. Both of them were not affected in the slightest, disregarding the explosion and continued to fight intensely with their respective opponents who likewise weren’t affected either.

This goes to show just how strong the four were, compared to the ten robed figures and the army of Saints. Both the Saints and the robed figures couldn’t help but roll and tumble through the air stunned for only a moment.

Some Saints were already killed, not by the shockwaves or after-effect magic of the collision but from the once thought dead monstrosities.

By the time the Saints regained their state of mind, it wasn’t long since only one second has passed. But for experts of the Saint level, one second is enough to determine life and death. So despite the one second being a minuscule amount of time, 500 Saints were already dead and dropping to the ground.

The Saints, upon seeing the monstrosities didn’t get shocked like a normal person should, considering that the monsters were annihilated by the combined long range attacks. Without waiting, the Saints dived into the battle with the monsters.

Clashes of battles, screams born from anguish and taunts all rang out in the sky while the world around them experienced something beyond its control as it was still unstable from the magical explosion.

Countless weapons of different kind, swords, sabres, guandaos and many more all flashed and the aura of death was all around. Showing just how serious both sides were in the battle, it is either I die or you die situation.

During all the hubbub of chaos, Kenji and the lady were hard pressed to take out the blood warriors that were like immortal and undying. No matter how many times they cut, maim, disable and even exploded the bloods’ head with their energy attacks. The bloods’ just continued to attack while their injuries, even their incinerated head, would instantaneously heal back like it was never destroyed in the first place.

Their appearance didn’t help give them give people the look that they are winning, Kenji’s green robe is nearly destroyed mainly from the magical explosion than being shredded apart by the blood. This revealed his chiselled body with countless scars that spoke volume of what he has been through in his life that was hidden from prying eyes. Not only that, his muscles and chest was so well formed for a more than a century old warrior, that any woman who saw his body would faint from such a killer body. Unfortunately they were in the middle of a death battle and no woman has time to look his way.

His face showed a faint exhaustion, but unlike his body that showed he was wavering. His eyes were filled to the brim with utter determination and willpower that conveyed a feeling that he will never fall today or ever.

The lady on the other hand, was different. Her caramel robe didn’t suffer any external damage like Kenji, not even the magical attack could even cause a rip in it. Not even the attacks by the blood could shred the robe, despite a sword being used to attack her.

Even her mature beauty that could instantly cause a war between kingdoms weren’t affected the slightest or blemished. Red soft luscious lips, deep green eyes that could make anyone feel Mother Nature’s nurture and tenderness, causing people to become lost by the lady’s special alluring gentleness and an oval face.

Her countenance was slightly better than Kenji; eyes shone fierce and also a trace of wisdom within.

However, the next moment both Kenji and the lady’s countenance change from fierce determination to fear in an instant the moment they saw six small orbs, the size of a tennis ball flew into the air.

The six orbs radiated a menacing and soul-destroying aura, one that could be liken to the eyes of ‘Death’ himself as he gaze upon the small and insignificant things called the living. Faint smoke emanated from the orbs, so powerful and dreadful the smoke that small ripples in space could be seen by the naked eye.

“KELLY USE THAT NOW!”

Kenji yelled fearfully through sense at the lady, while eyeing the orbs. He tightly clenched his guandao and fought even more fiercely against the blood warrior. Before, although he was tired, there was never a sign of sweat seen on face or body but now perspiration slowly emerged. This goes to show how agitated and desperate he is when the orbs appeared.

The lady now called Kelly didn’t refute Kenji who spoke harshly at her because she too knew that things have taken a turn for the worse. The situation was already bad enough but both could handle it and never flinched under pressure. Despite that, the orbs were something that they didn’t account for and this didn’t bode well for them.

For that reason, Kelly was forced to use her ultimate trump card that she was hesitant to use but seeing how the situation has changed, she had no choice. She dashed back away from the blood warrior to create some distance, the blood warrior didn’t pursue as its mission was to protect its master.

Kelly brought out a plain and almost unremarkable talisman because the talisman only had a single pattern on it that from the untrained eye would look like a paper with a scribble on it. She swiftly placed the talisman on her whip.

The appearance or aura of her whip didn’t change or look like the talisman had any effect on it like a talisman should. She didn’t have any time to waste to see if the talisman was actually the real deal when she paid an exorbitant price for.

After placing the talisman, she readied her stance to prepare for her most powerful attack ‘White Dragon’. Without wasting time, her whip glowed in response to her command and she whipped it forward with such speed that it broke the sound barrier and her entire arm that was wielding the whip disappeared from view.

CRACK

Suddenly the space in front of Kelly shuddered under her assault before a gigantic white dragon made out of pure light magic, roared before it flew into the air in the direction of the black orbs that were in the middle of still ascending into the sky. The dragon was ten times larger than even the giant skeleton.

Combined with its large appearance and the natural domineering aura, it suppressed the entire battlefield and if people were told it was made from magic, none would believe it as the power of the light dragon was even more powerful than Saint Dragons.

The skeleton seeing the white blinding dragon swiftly making its way to his six orbs that he commanded into the air, opposite from the battlefield, couldn’t help but clench his teeth before he brought out a black marble big enough to fit in his hand. Red substance swirled inside the black marble before it was suppressed by the black.

He instantly shattered the black marble like glass and issued a command through sense.

“Annihilate!”

The black substance rushed out from the cracks and flew into the air, heading straight for the white dragon.

Rapidly the black substance took form of a snake and the suppressed red substance, coiled around the long black snake that was four times longer than the dragon but smaller in width by 5 times. It continued to coil around before it stopped on the snake forehead and changed into a diamond shape. In the next moment, the diamond broke apart to reveal a white eye with no iris.

A black beam immediately shot out from the eye, aiming straight for the white dragon.

The white dragon, sensing danger turned its head towards the rapidly approaching beam. Without deviating from its original course, the white dragon did the exact same thing except it shot two beams of light.

This attack of shooting two light beams heralded a new storm.

The clouds appeared from thin air and instantly converged around the path the beams were going to take, creating the illusion of the beams coming from heaven. Water spears solidified by the moisture in the air, turned around like living beings as it faced the black snake like a predator eyeing its prey.

The black snake breezed through attack, however the magic’s target wasn’t to hurt the snake but merely disrupt the still flowing out beam from its eye. When it closed its eye due to its extremely fragile defences, the beam lost the continued support.

So when the black beam met the two white beams, instead of explosion of unknown proportion and a one-time use. The collision that turned into a tug of strength, caused a continuous ringing sound that assaulted every person, dead or alive who are capable of hearing, be assaulted by the vibrational force behind the ring. Not only that, the black beam was losing the tug of strength not because there was two white beams pushing against it, without the support of its owner, being the snake to continuously pour magic into the beam as it was disrupted by water magic.

With all these conditions in hand, naturally the black beam was instantly destroyed the moment all the magic was used up. Without anything to hold the two white beams back, it swiftly went straight for the snake that was still slithering its way towards the dragon with its eyes closed.

By the time the snake could open its eyes.

PUH PUH

The air was filled of agonising stabs from the snake. Unfortunately, since it was magic, it lived through the attack albeit weakened as the energy that was destroyed and used to keep form of the snake, disappeared and so forced the snake shrink in size by a little. But still, the snake endured the forceful process of shrinkage without losing momentum as it collided into the dragon like a hammer smashing deeply onto a rock.

BANG

Despite being weakened, the snake showed no sign of being intimidated before coiling its body around the dragon. The dragon was caught unaware by the collision and so it was easier for the snake to trap him.

Kelly, who was controlling the dragon, didn’t have time to react to the snake almost ramming into her dragon as she narrowly avoided a blood slash that came from Kenji’s fight.

During all the chaos, Kenji finally managed to slay the blood warrior that dissipated into nothingness and madly dashed at the skeleton with his bloody body littered with injuries that could have felled a mighty warrior a hundred times over.

However, Kenji forgot about the second blood warrior that was idle until Kenji reached within its boundaries. With his abundant battle experience, Kenji managed to avoid a sure-death hit that was deadly as the Grim Reaper’s sickle and quick as a viper strike to the head and had no choice but to entangle with the last blood warrior.

Kelly, although haven’t been fighting in close combat, was rapidly getting even more exhausted the more she controlled the white dragon, raised her acute reaction and awareness to the max, insta-cast high level Saint magic when necessary while keeping an eye on the skeleton.

Suddenly she noticed the skeleton disintegrated into dust and the dusty form of his, blasted towards the nearest orbs when they broke apart before the dragon. Without much choice, as the plan she was going to use was a 30% chance of success while the losses outweighed the wins, she didn’t care and exploded her white dragon.

The white dragon was in close proximity of the orbs, despite that and its mission to destroy them. The snake was in the way as it entangled it, forcing the dragon to fight the snake and not have any time to attack the fragile orbs because every time it tried to attack, the snake would forcefully close the mouth by wrapping its body around it.

The white dragon, with no warning in advance, suddenly exploded in such blinding light that everyone, dead or alive were affected as they were forced to either close their eyes or were dazed by it.

Dazed so bad that chirping birds could be seen above Saints and necromantic monsters heads. The light was so eye shattering that, majority of the people felt their eyes sear like volcano eruption splashing on their very eyes.

The only exception were Kelly who was the initiator and had prepared for the light, Kenji who was warned beforehand and the dusty form of the skeleton as he didn’t have any eyes and was primarily using his Saint sense to navigate his way to one of the orbs.

“ARRRRGGGGHHH

NOOOO IMPOSSIB-HUUUKK”

The skeleton materialised and an agonising soul-wrenching scream escaped his invisible throat as he dropped down to the earth like lightning striking the ground as his large size accelerated his descend.

BOOM

A small crater formed in the already deformed earth, adding just one more crater amidst the hundreds of craters in the earth. The face of the earth looked like it had countless of nature’s version of chicken pox that was inverted. The tree that was like hair didn’t help with the appearance as it made the earth bald with its existence now gone.

The reason for the skeleton agonised scream was due to the six orbs that he sent out into the sky, the orbs weren’t just any ordinary ones or else he wouldn’t be screaming in pain. The orbs were actually soul parts of himself and the reason why the skeleton never joined the battle even though he was strong was precisely because of the orbs.

Ever since the start, he knew he wouldn’t survive the battle ever since Kelly joined forces with Kenji’s. So for that reason, he chanted a secret necromantic spell that will split his soul into seven parts, which turned into the six black orbs while leaving the seventh one with him. However, it was a dangerous and time consuming process.

To make up for the time, he released his necromantic minions that couldn’t be killed as long as he had the resources to bring them back, even if they were incinerated down to the last molecules. As for the danger, he couldn’t afford to break concentration and so, was restricted from playing a role in battle.

Once he succeeded, he was immensely weakened as it required a large amount of mental strength and without enough mental strength, he wouldn’t be able to fight in peak condition since the reaction speed that is so important that is can be considered the very backbone of every warrior, is directly proportional to the mental strength. So the weaker the mind is the slower the reaction time and thereby increasing the chance of death.

He was also connected to the souls despite being split apart; it was similar to an extra invisible limb. It can feel even the slightest emotions of each other, and can see what the other sees as well if one chooses too. However, there was a downside for that as all the souls that were still connected by an invisible thread that shared the experience, was the pain that any one of the souls sustained. Despite that, there was a way to cut off the connection without losing the souls but the skeleton didn’t have enough time to completely cut it off as he was in a rush.

So for that reason, it wasn’t strange for the skeleton to experience excruciating pain that was brought about by the destruction of all six of his souls that were still soul connected as it shared all the experience the fragile soul experienced. Since all six were attacked at the same time, the soul-shaking pain was amplified by six times but from the skeleton’s point of view.

He felt that the pain was millions of times stronger than the experience of just one of his souls being destroyed.

After the explosion caused by the dragon and during the skeleton’s descend onto the earth. All the minions of the skeleton, even the snake who was barely hanging by a thread despite being right next to the epicentre of the explosion, all turned hazy before dissipating into thin air.

All owing to that along with the skeleton’s souls not only exhausting his mental strength but also exhausted his abundant magical reserve that he split amongst his souls and the moment they were destroyed. The flow of magic that was behind the monstrosities that gave them immortal status were shattered, naturally without a magic source to keep pumping magic into the necromantic spell that was in a continuous use and in great demand, broke apart like smoke being dispersed by the jealous wind.

With that, the surviving Saints breathed a sigh of relief while two people weren’t, Kenji and Kelly. Kenji was tired but he dared not relax, he summoned all the energy he could muster after the second blood disappeared. He surged all the energy into his legs and bolted out like lightning, bringing his guandao in a vertical swing as he swiftly closed the distance between him and the skeleton.

Kelly was slightly better with a pale countenance and a small trace of blood slipping out the side of her mouth.

“NOOO—ARRGGHH

I WILL NOT DIEEEEE—RAAAAAAARRR”

The skeleton managed to regain a small part of his sanity amidst the hellish pain that he was currently experiencing at the moment. With his inextinguishable desire to live, he managed to cast a magic that burnt all the magic he had in his reserve to transform himself into a black and hazy dragon. The dragon form he took, looked exactly like the smoky dragon that saved him at the start of the battle and self-destructed when it dived into the dazzling rainbow of magic that was aimed at its master, namely him.

With his dragon form, he flew into the air but although the pain has dimmed as time has passed, it was still excruciating for him and this affected his flight. He flew up and down, occasionally flying through the ground and other times smashing into small hills that were formed by his and the duos, Kenji and Kelly’s lackeys battle.

Before he could reach more than 1 kilometre that he closed in one second, he felt his abdomen be pierced by something large that left a hole, the size of a human when the piercer left his body. The attack was followed by a familiar roar while he turned his head and tried to attack his enemy with dragon’s breath, a trademark of every dragon.

He was pierced by the white dragon that was controlled by Kelly, who summoned it with every ounce of magic that her body had and was swiftly following not far behind, being carried on the back of Kenji who was the legs and she was the power.

Seeing that he was interrupted by a white dragon, the skeleton had no choice but to endure the relentless assault that the white dragon could muster. He knew he would lose the moment he fights the dragon.

Since the result would not only have the dragon fighting him, this will force him to unable to escape like a slippery eel. He would also be surrounded by the remnants of the surviving Saints army, which are no longer restricted by his minions. Coupled with the powerful Kenji who will join the fray, albeit weaker than his prime condition but nevertheless a very fierce wounded tiger, with everything against him with no benefits in sight, it is no surprise that the black dragon/skeleton would want to escape even if he should sustain life-threatening injuries.

The white dragon didn’t stop at piercing the black dragon. It struck its mouth towards the black dragon’s neck like the deadly whip of hell, coming to unleash power upon it.

The mouth glowed in white intensity, whiter than the whitest snow and colder, not from actual temperature but deadliness than the most deadly mortal weapon.

It struck the nape of the dragon like a vicious vampire, hungry for blood as it crushed the black dragon’s formidable scales like butter. It followed up as it slashed its mighty tail onto the black dragon’s back; cracks rang out with each scale breaking.

Surprisingly, the black dragon didn’t scream or it was more accurate to say he couldn’t. As the throat, the source of every living being voice transmission unless it’s a special kind or have a trait that can use other voice means than throat, is completely smashed for the skeleton.

His agonising scream, which should have conveyed a sense of anguish at what he is currently experiencing, instead is filled with something akin to an adult version of a baby cry. The scream, if not for his appearance, would have surely made one not think it was from a deadly looking black dragon.

“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.”

The black dragon shot into a nearby lake, booming into it like a cannon being shot into the lake. Before the arrival of the black dragon, the lake was untouched with the nearest tree from any side of the lake being more than 100 metres away, a strange lake indeed.

The reason for the lake not being turned upside down like the heaven has crashed into the earth, is due to the high speed chase that the black and white dragon were engaged in, along with Kenji and Kelly who were struggling just to catch up, has passed more than 30 kilometres in distance. So the nearest trace of their battle before the lake was 10 kilometres behind them.

Despite the enormous distance that was covered within 10 seconds, this is nothing for a Saint who is dying and flying at his maximum speed.

The white dragon didn’t let up its assault and flew into the lake along with black dragon. The nape was instantly healed but the speed has dropped considerably because of the magical losses and it never escaped the eyes of the dragon.

The black dragon, realising the situation was dire as he was caught off-guard about the dragon biting on his nape and worst of all, being smashed into the lake with only one way out. He could fly through the ground, however the ground resistance, although small and almost negligible for a Saint. Regardless, the ground would still give resistance to his flying speed; therefore he couldn’t fly through the ground.

With this in mind, he agilely swam passed the white dragon. Before he could fully bypass the white dragon, he suddenly felt himself constrict instantly.

‘Shit’

He realised he was trapped inside the frozen lake. The only spell that could instantly freeze and moreover, strong enough to constrain his power is the spell ‘Ice Age’.

Normally this spell took time to take effect, however since it was amplified by the lake which increases the speed and deadliness of the water spell as it too was made of water.

Coldness seeped passed his scales and before he could break free, the white dragon that was next to him was surprisingly not affected by the frozen lake as it strangely swam through it like it was still in water form as it swung both its tails and four claws at the vital parts of the black dragon.

CLISH

“KIH!”

BANG

CRACK

A strange death cry erupted from the black dragon’s mouth before his head exploded by the impact of the tail, with the four limbs embedded into his two lungs, stomach and pelvis. At first when the white dragon struck the lungs and stomach, it created a mushy clish sound, but when his last limb struck the pelvis, a small crack echoed before the black dragon’s body disintegrated into nothingness, leaving only a small black orb that was visibly cracked as it was stuck on one of the claws of the limb.

And that is how the mighty black dragon/skeleton that Kenji and Kelly has been chasing for centuries died, instantly and without him knowing how he died.

In response, the white dragon swam out the de-frosted lake that disappeared as fast as it appeared with the cracked orb still on the claw.

The dragon didn’t notice a book that was evidently not being soaked like any normal books does when it is in a lake before it disappeared. A book is beyond the overbearing dragon attention but if the dragon did notice it, with its keen eyesight it would have been possible to notice the title of the book…
