CH 33|| Not Allowed
Everyone stared at Sen in shock, even after Ryyla's story of a creature hidden within the portal Sen still wanted to go, Tara couldn't help but shout.
"No Sen you can't, you almost died the other day I can't let you."
She then embraced Sen tightly nearly suffocating him.
"Mother, I need to know more about that stone, there is something about it that draws my curiosity."
"Why, why do you always have to be so curious? don't you realize you could be killed?"
Tara couldn't help but tear up, her son was was always too curious for his own good and the last time he was he nearly died. She couldn't bare to let him go to a place that was clearly riddled with danger, especially a danger that wasn't too clear.
"Mom I won't be killed, I'm strong, you need not worry for me. Besides Ryyla will be there with me."
"Sen I have to disagree, you may be of my blood, but you're still a child. You can't handle such dangerous just yet. Why not wait a few more years and hone your skills, you have plenty of time to seek out ruins and travel the world."
Sen couldn't believe that even his dad was saying he couldn't defend himself. He couldn't help but grow irritated, he quickly threw himself from his mother's grasp and loudly stated.
"Mother, father, the two of you believe I am a weak child. When have you ever seen me to be weak. Even now I have already surpassed father in strength."
Stunned at their Son's sudden outbursts they glanced at each other before Kai angrily shouted out.
"You think yourself to be the strongest boy, you have yet to see all of my skill ."
"Ha, what skill, father you may be stronger than me physically, but what good is your strength if you can't even land a single blow on me. the competition would simply be over before it begins."
"Sen, you, you."
"Me what?"
The two stared at each other viciously, neither one wanting to back down. Both as stubborn as mules when it comes to their skills being called into play.
Now Tara was growing frantic, she hated when Sen and Kai argued with each other. Kai trying to be a father and Sen always thinking he's right easily formed a wedge between father and son. Sen for some reason could never really get along with his father. He always looked at Kai as though he were a fool and Kai could sense it. His own son thought him to be an idiot, it tore at Kai's heart. Tara jumped in between the two.
"Don't fight, please don't fight, Sen can't you just wait a little while, do it for me. That chamber will still be there even if you wait a few years, so Sen, please, can you please just wait?"
The reason why Tara had pleaded with Sen was precisely because she knew what he was capable of. Even if she and Kai wanted to forcefully keep Sen with them, she knew with a few minutes of chanting he could teleport and be in an entirely different continent. She just worried, because to her Sen was her everything and all the difficulties she's faced in life she could bare a 1,000 fold more if it could keep her son safe.

Sen couldn't help but feel a bit upset, parents are supposed to believe in their child and have faith in them and hear the two of them were both treating him as if he wore a diaper. This infuriated Sen to the core, he couldn't stand for people to see him as weak let alone his own parents, but alas it was his mother that pleaded with him. She truly was the one person he cared fo the most and for her he would do most anything, Sen couldn't help but sigh.
"Fine ill wait for now, but when the time comes I will leave and seek out that chamber ."
Tara's face immediately brightened and her tears stopped as though they never started. She jumped on Sen and hugged him tightly while kissing his forehead.
"Thank god, I just don't want to lose you Sen. I know you're strong, I do, but just a few more years and who knows where you'll be ."
Sen looked towards his father .
*sigh*
"Dad, my words were a bit harsh I'm sorry for upsetting you and mom ."
Kai looked at his son, he knew that he as well was wrong, but his son called him weak, how can he just let him off the hook like that.
"I understand but the way you talked to me, you were full of disrespect and for that a punishment is in order."
"What, Kai he already apologized there's no nee."
"Mom it's ok dad's right, I shouldn't have acted the way I did. Ok old man what's the punishment, grounded for a month, wash laundry for a week, hit me with it."
Kai pondered momentarily, he knew his son was sorry he was just giving him a bit of a hard time, he let out a light chuckle.
"Heh, on the way here I saw a bakery near the front of the city. Run down there and get a Prin Berry Cake for your mother. Only then will your punishment be over."
"Ha, I can do that ."
And with that Sen was already out the door. Prin berry cake was his mother's favorite cake and every time they had one they would all sit down and eat it together as a family. Sen knew immediately his father's thoughts, he couldn't help but think his father wasn't that bad after all and with that Sen raced to fulfill his punishment.
"Kuku cake huh that's letting him off a bit light huh."
"What is there a problem with the way I raise my son?"
Kai said with a bit of annoyance.
"Not at all, not at all, I was just gonna say though, there was no need to ask him to wait."
Tara tilted her head curiously and asked.
"Hmmm, Ryyla, what do you mean by that?"
"Well, it's just that I had no intention of taking him there, nor lifting my jammer from that area. So there is no way for him to get there unless I give the go ahead."
Kai looked at her in a confused manner and although he was glad that she wouldn't allow him access to the chamber, he still wondered why.
"If you weren't going to allow him to go in the first place then why did you let him and I argue like that?"
"How was I supposed to know you two would start a fight like that out of nowhere and besides the both of you should already know Sen's temperament by now. Did you really think he would act nicely after having the two of you call him weak."

Kai and Tara both looked down shamefully. The way they acted as though they had no belief in their son's abilities, it's no wonder Sen acted the way he did. At this moment, Tara remembered.
"Wait a minute, you said you had no intention of allowing him access there ."
"Yea so?"
"Well, I'm just curious why won't you let him. Is it all because of whatever was in that portal, was that thing really so frightening."
Without the slightest hesitation Ryyla quickly retorted.
"Your damn right! that thing, whatever the hell it was, it was terrifying, I have never felt such fear in all my life."
Ryyla trembled at just the mention of it.
"That thing, whatever it was, was trying to steal my soul and the reason why I don't want Sen there is the same reason why I will never go back there ever again. The reason is because it will take Sen's soul. If it were not for my father, at that time I would for sure died and I would not be here today, my sister would not be here today. Even my father had to use a bit of strength to send that thing away. It truly is a monster. I don't know why it would be in that place, maybe it was once used as a trap or a guardian, but one thing I know for certain. That creature is powerful so terrifyingly powerful."
Meanwhile sen was nearing the bakery. As he got closer and closer he saw a bit of a crowd gathered in the street, they were all chattering about something. Curious, Sen approached the crowd, but couldn't quite see .So using the wind he leaped atop a nearby building and peered down at the center of the crowd to see what all the fuss was about.
As he looked down there was an encirclement of people, men, women, and children and in the center were two people. One was clearly a warrior standing tall, easily 6 feet, with a broad chest rippled with muscles and arms and legs nearly as thick as logs. This big man fiercely shouted and pointed at the other person.
"Hahaha, you dare to challenge me pipsqueak you barely come past my waist now go back to your mother ad drink her milk before you make me mad."
As he continued to point and laugh, soon the crowd was laughing too at this other person. Clearly the big man was pretty strong and more than confident while his opponent was small, inexplicably small. This person was only around 5 feet tall and was very skinny. Other than that not much else could be seen because the person wore a bright yellow cloak over their entire body, but in the next moment a small slender hand appeared from the cloak and pointed out to the man.
The small figure infused mana into their voice and in a booming roar yelled out.
"YOU MOTHER LOVING COCK SUCKING BITCH ASS FREAK!! ONLY THE STRONG CAN SPEAK AND YOU DARE CALL ME PIPSQUEAK WITH THAT FAT UGLY HEAD ATOP YOUR SHOULDERS!! YOUR BETTER OFF HIDING THAT SHIT STAIN BACK IN YOUR MOTHERS ASSHOLE THEN FIGHT ME YOU PUSSY!!"
Silence filled the air, nothing could be heard and everyone looked on with their mouths agape and their eyes wide in shock. Even Sen couldn't believe the foulness that he heard coming from one so small. In the next moment, everyone's gaze was locked onto the bigger man's quickly reddening face. They could all see the fury burning within him quickly surface. He was about to snap and in the next instant that's precisely what he did.
"You fucking pipsqueak!!"
And like that he charged at the yellow cloaked figure with a fist full of power. Everyone that was a fighter instantly knew this man was at the 6th rank. When his fist finally came crashing towards this small figure people in the crowd couldn't help but gasp. This yellow cloaked figure was about to be crushed no one in the crowd none of the few that were warriors or mage's could feel any aura coming from this small person. To not even be at a rank and to challenge someone that did was suicide.
But what happened in the next moment froze everyone's complexion. As the man swung his fist he suddenly collapsed on the ground, he was already unconscious and like that the fight was already over. The cloaked figure already turned and walked away while spitting on the ground near the opponent. Everyone shouted out and quickly chatted and discussed what had just occurred because most of them just had no clue what just transpired. Only a small few had actually seen what happened and they were the warriors and Sen. He quickly replayed what had happened over and over in his mind.
"Sen's POV
"That was awesome! that small figure right before that bigger man's fist had reached him, he sidestepped, completely avoiding it and then with a quick counter himself swung his fist and with his middle knuckle he punched directly into the big man's temple, knocking him out instantly."
Now to most warriors this wouldn't seem too extraordinary, but this person had done it completely without an aura. It must be understood that everyone that is a warrior or a mage emits an aura and by it people can tell what their rank is. Even Ryyla and Lyyla emit one, even though you can not tell what their rank is they still emit an aura, but this hooded figure emitted nothing. It seemed as if the person was completely ordinary, but they had somehow instantly incapacitated a warrior of the 6th rank.
Sen's POV
"And that speed it was almost as fast as mine, how is that possible? and for someone to completely get rid of their aura like that."
Just as Sen was pondering all this a shout rang out.
"Hey everyone I hear that mysterious expert is signing up for the free tournament today at the BattleArena."
"What really? well, let's not waste time then. I hear the tournaments gonna start in only a few hours lets hurry and find some good seats."
"Seats, forget about that I've gotta make a bet on that yellow hooded expert before anyone else does, let's go."
And like that, the crowd that was once there quickly dispersed with most of them heading towards the BattleArena.
Sen's ears perked up to this news. He quickly ran up to a man near the street.
"Hey, old man.
Hearing someone call out to him saying, old man, the man turned with an angry look on his face, but when he faced the person who called him he was greeted by a young child who was waving a single piece of gold in his hand. Seeing this, the old man couldn't help but put a smile on his face and act politely.
"Is there something you need from this old timer?"
Sen flicked the coin to the man and the older fellow quickly caught it and inspected it.
"Yeah, tell me about the BattleArena."

8 231Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.
